just started Dark Souls Remastered, which I’m trying to go into as blindly as I can, in this day and age
but it’s a blast, so far, and the raw terror of losing your souls and humanities is overwhelming
interesting to see the greater emphasis on blocking and parrying compared to Elden Ring, too
just got up to O&S, they’re kicking my ass hard — very fun, though

My mind melded your two post into "I'm fluent in tapioca-to-English"
A useful skill, to be sure.

incapable of putting This Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We down, Mitski’s voice is just amazing, especially when she puts strong emotion into it

the hint of menace and wrongness, too, in the midst of melancholy, is perfect; it’s like some kind of flipside of the songs I got into OK Computer through

Are you thinking there's gonna be enough wars going on to need a general war thread?
I mean, we maybe we can use it to discuss past or theoretical wars in peacetime.

Henry Kissinger
The name is familiar but I can't remember who the hell he is.
He was Richard Nixon’s secretary of state, and did some awful things. Behind the Bastards has an excellent series on him, really made my blood boil.

Why'd it take this long for Henry Kissinger to die?
Woooo!
learnt about it a bit ago but the feeling is still coursing through me, fuck yeah
normally I don’t celebrate people’s deaths, I don’t even really love jokes about pissing on Reagan or Thatcher’s graves, but this guy is well and truly an exception — his death makes today a wonderful day

This is how you look like if you believe that a 40 trillion ton supply of ore, that would last us a bandaid 200 years, and leave us with 3,6 billion tons of "intermediate-level waste" and "high-level waste".... (that we need to manage for longer than the pyramids have existed, try to extrapolate payroll calculations over a period long as human history, just for shits and giggles) - that this narrow value optimisation could constitute the end all be all solution to the all encompassing META CRISIS.

People will do anything for clout. People drinking bleach, 1l of vodka, live parasites... All for internet clout. Here today, gone tomorrow
Reminds me, a friend of mine drank bleach to get out of a test, and it didn’t even work.

If Peterson may be understandable with his takes about the war in Ukraine (which can be summarized as: Ukrainians, surrender already because nuclear war bad)
oh, jesus, is that really his take? if I hadn’t already lost the respect I used to have for him a good while ago, I’d lose it right here and now

I swear he’s just being a contrarian, these days

Laufey’s voice is so goddamn beautiful, it nearly makes me cry. I can’t cope with how layeredly perfect it is. It’s like watching in anticipation as shining chocolate sauce pours slowly down a rich chocolate cake, and then slowly eating the cake.

edit:
okay, maybe I’m overhyping her a little, reading that back
still damn good, though
