Also our 20th turn started on year 169. Nice.
Nice.

Yeah, Max is 50, but if everyone else keeps their caps on, the number should right itself eventually.
Especially with all the deaths, right?

Man the wiki needs a massive update with what’s been found here. This is a shining example of true dwarven !!SCIENCE!!

333
If we can’t fix it via dfhack, it’d be best to block them in with walls, if you can, or surround them with cage traps. Especially if they have guards; our warriors are valiant but the less slaughter the better.

334
I know this isn't the place for it, but I think risen dwarves should be considered different to history-created intelligent undead, because risen dwarves don't have the powers that world-gen undead get.

335
Yeah, DF Hack seems stable now, and was what I was planning to use since post 1 in this exact case. Feel free to run a clean up and even destroy some of the items on the surface for FPS's sake.
Definitely agreed on this; there was enough vomit and bile and blood on the ground in my turn to cause FPS drop, and that was a fair few turns ago. So long as we’re sure DFHack is stable, feel free to run clean as much as you like.

Well this fort is certainly... interesting. I'd sign up for a turn as overseer if I wasn't so rusty and could write better, I'll be keeping a close eye on the thread though.
We’d be happy to have you aboard, if you change your mind!

Then again, it might be a bad idea to resurrect Sodel if he still has a grudge over being murdered. Sigun should be safe though.
Aaahhh, but then we miss out on the excellent !!!SCIENCE!!! opportunities. Bring him back, and, first, this’d be a further test of ghouls, and, second we’ll see if he has the grudge or not (and thus if relationships live beyond the grave)! This is the perfect fort, too; Smallhands, home of the living undead.

With booze in hand he announced he had stepped down from the Overseer's office, citing stress and having overstayed his tenure. Many in here muttered, some angrily, others in understanding. Fortunately though one bright spark clapped for him and everyone slowly joined in, then raised a toast for his service.
This is an excellent first post; I laughed particularly at this bit :D
Looking forward to the rest, although there’s no rush.

This is like the systematic mermaid slaughter all over again. Thank Armok it didn’t work, or to curse dwarves to twisted unlife so that they can serve us beyond death will be the practice of the Dwarf Fortress community forevermore! Or until Toady patches it out.

339
It’s not over yet, delphonso; hold out hope.

Awesome drawing, Nogood!

Spriggans is locked away, but at what cost?
This could be the undoing of the fort; even in my turn I don’t think it got this bad; yes everyone was dead but at least that meant that no one was unhappy.

341
...Spriggans? Are you there? No time-pressure, of course, but it’s understandable to be worried by a week without an update.

342
I for one welcome our two-toed overlord.

You’re doing great, Strika; I’m really enjoying the writeups, which are detailed without being overly so. Keep in mind that the crazy, hodge-podge design of the fort saved it in more ways than one; the choke point saved it, but so did the extra space in odd places and the weird, inefficient paths — although the fort has changed significantly since then. You’re right about possible problems with threats from within, though.

Does this still work?
