Okay, I don't care if it attracts the helicopters, I need to fill an evil quota.
While sitting there in traffic, I load up the mounted gun with AP rounds and turn it on. Continue to HQ. Turn it off before I arrive so I don't shoot up the place.

I get this error message when trying to write to DF. I am running Vista x64 and do have .NET 3.5.

Allow me to bump this and report that it is still annoying me here in v0.28.181.40d11. Although I've done some testing and it seems that dwarfs like to dump not in the most recently created dump, but in the closest dump on the X and Y axis only. Meaning, if I dump a stone on z0 and there's a dump stockpile 10 tiles down a hall and a pile on z7 directly over the stone, they'll go to the z7 pile no matter how long it takes to get there.
This is severely affecting how busy my dwarfs are.
