further more do all dwarfs need alcohol to get through the working day? lol

My Wheel is transmitting power to my Horizontal Axle. The Horizontal Axle Transmits power to my Gear Assembly.

The Gear Assembly transmits no power to the Vertical Axle.

I tried Switching the Vertical Axle to a Horizontal. But that didn't work.

Can anyone tell me how to get this pump working?


Okay.... I switched the vertical axle to a gear assembly, and of course it works now. However. What was i doing wrong before. Why wont the vertical axle connect to the gear assembly ?

I managed to hit a underground water source. I drained it for 3 months into a stream area, and its still going strong.

Do they ever run out or do they just keep re-generating water?

Use the magma forge, i had to build a normal forge to get him to move from my meeting area.

DF Bug Reports / Trading Depot Slow Down...

I'm assuming this is already known. But just in case...

Not on all the maps i play, but some of the maps. When ever the traders leave my depot, the game slows down to 10fps from 100fps or so.

It stays like this until i remove the depot.

I can upload the save game if anyone wants to see. Its happened every year now, after the traders leave, game slows down.

Ive been playing this one map for 2 - 3 years now i think.

Not one cat has befriended a dwarf....

(Not that i want them too, because then that means i can't slaughter them)

But this is a bug and i feel compelled to report it.

Okay...

Well its Mid-Spring, 1052.

And i just received that message, then right after wards i got some migrants. The first one is the peasant...

Should the ruler be coming only in the second year?

I only have 15 Peasants! :|

This is a bug correct? Or is my king / ruler suppose to arrive so soon?

Second question, what should i do to avoid him showing himself as the king?

Every several minutes, my dwarfs are hosting another party, as one ends another begins.

It seems that all my good workers want to goto these party's as well rather then doing there jobs.

Can there please be a option to turn party's off, but leaving meeting halls alone otherwise.

I'm sick of these party's....

But whatever     :)

Edit: also at these so called "party's" Theres no booze!

I say once a year in autumn , everyone party's with lots and lots of beer and booze.  After that, no more party's for the rest of the year.

At least make a option to limit party's to once a year. Otherwise no work gets done, or i cant have no meeting halls because of party's.

I have to turn off my statue garden because all these dwarfs want to do is party. We have more pressing issues then having party's :-\

DF Bug Reports / [38a] Building Ice walls on water

I don't know if this will happen with normal walls or not.

But I built some ice walls over some frozen water to get the water blocks out of the way of construction.

When summer came along and the water unfroze. The blocks didn't fall into the water at first.

Then several minutes later. It told me they collapsed.

After that they left behind, some tiles which say unknown.

I haven't tested this with normal walls.

Just as it said. My hunter used up all his ammo, no one ever recollected it and put it in the pile. Now he died because he has no ammo left.

Also, i have it set to collect refuse from outside.

I also have a ammo stockpile built.

I really think this is a bug. I think a hunter which uses a crossbow, should stop hunting when he runs out of ammo. Without the ammo he will just get killed. Theres no point in him hunting after that. My hunter ran out of bolts and decided to go wrestle a wolf when he has no wrestling skills. Now hes dead. Which sucks...

My dwarfs are walking across the bridge and are stopping there jobs because of the fish down below, even tho theres no way that they can hurt the dwarfs, unless of course they fall in the water.

I would have to say this is a bug, or something over looked.

A Human Caravan arrived and my Outpost leader was sleeping, He canceled sleep when he was taken by mood.

Right afterwards i got a message, that the human liaison left unhappy...

DF Bug Reports / Kobold Thief Scared my traders away :-\

i have 2 trade depots and i had the caravan for the first year unload and i was going to trade soon, when a kobold thief appeared, the traders then packed up and left.

There was no message either saying they were leaving.


Doesn't Look like there coming back either     :(

Also this game, i got some migrants in early summer, now i'm getting more and its mid autumn.

Should i be getting 2 waves of migrants in my first year?

DF Bug Reports / [38a] Soliders ignoring Zones

I have a area at the river dug out and set with a zone for water.

However my recruits are going far away to a different part of the river to fill there water skins, where there are carp. Then getting them selfs killed  :)
