Omg thats such a cool f'in idea
If it doesn't work toady has to fix it so it does. Moving stuff from one area to another with water from a river or some such would be fantastic
!

Well i of course build other defense and i have steel weapons and armor made and some well trained troops.
But no one needs to go up in arms for a single kobold ambush, the war dogs take care of them.
Is this some kind of joke?
The only ambushes i have ever experienced are single Kobold's spawning at my entrance, and then running off.
In fact i always take 2 war dogs with me and the kobolds don't have a chance.
Are there some other type of ambushes i haven't seen yet?
Can anyone help ?
I'm Going to have to try pissing off the merchants enough so they send there armies. Thats gotta be fun ?
further more do all dwarfs need alcohol to get through the working day? lol

Press (m) Then select the dwarf you want to use different armor. Then press (w).
Move with the arrow keys all the way to the right to where it says A: --- A: ---.
The first one is the type of armor this dwarf should wear, the second tells it to use a Shield or something else called "Bkl".
Anyone know what BKL is?
Edit:: Ignore most of this reply if you already knew about that, and you ment that you want them to pick up platemail, which they already have on, but of a better quality?

First off its more of a challenge, also losing those dwarfs later on in the game doesn't seem as bad for some reason
Also, it allows me to pick what skills my expedition leader will have. Thats the main plus
Also i don't bother to take any supply's other then 2 picks and a anvil. No animals or anything. Makes the game so much more interesting

I like this Game very very much, but my notebooks breaks apart due to it. I play on a 3x3 Field (or 3x4) with all animals (but pets & War Dogs) in Cages. I have 34 Dwarfs and am playing with 14 FPS @ 100% CPU Usage.
The Notebook has 512mb DRAM, with is not really used and a 3 Ghz Intel P3 which runs at 3066mhz and has a 100% usage all the Time (it goes down when i am in the Menues).Any Idea what i am doing wrong? It can't be true to kill my P3 with DF ...
Thx for your help, would like to play more, but with this is it hard to play...</STRONG>
Well aside from config'in DF you can also turn off a lot of services you don't normaly need running.
http://www.blackviper.com/
On the left side of the page you will see....

Features:Windows Service Configurations!
Includes explanations of each service and advice on which services you can safely disable!
Right below that are guides explaining what you can safely turn off and what you can't.

This Mother F'er is great
Beats the crap out of normal task manager. Let you see if anything is running which shouldn't be, or whats using up CPU it shouldn't be.

You could also just put a little bit more effort into remembering what you linked to what
Ive yet to have a problem forgetting what i have linked to what. Its not that hard to remember when you keep things in separate lever groups. (keeps levers to a certain area together in one place)
It would still how ever to be nice to have to option to attach notes to levers tho...
