DF Modding / Just smoothing?

Short question: Were there ever community projects for just smoothing DF up? Polishing the RAW edges, tying loose ends, fill in the gaps?
As we all know, there's a lot of DF that is a bit 'rough' so I though why couldnt we - as a group - help a bit out, just by smoothing up. But if Tarn and Zach are 'not interested in our wishes', it has no point.

To help black cats with killing dwarves, there is now a 1/2000 chance that a dwarf or other creature will trip and fall with each step it takes, and an also small chance of injury. This chance is naturally greatly increased when cursed with bad luck.
This change is further increased if they passed a stepladder anytime during that day.

well, even scuba divers don't "walk" into water, they jump into. What about dumping your dwarves into the magma? With no way out?
did you gave them magma_vision? otherwise they just might have been blinded

I still dont get it. I have a interation in which both a cow is targeted, but also MY_CREATURE itself. By somehow, Mycreature is still be able to target itself, without a cow around.
I thought that this would be some AND-construction. Like with the emission_with_hide_effect. How is my_create be able to only target itself, without a valid target A?

Ok. Wel the whole point is to make my creatures know which season it is. Any ideas?

Now iam thinking about giving a lot of non vermin birds an interaction which do target my 'cats'. And modfing these birds with no_winter and such

Sigh...

It seems that vermin hunted by cat-hunts_vermin also dont apply syndromes to the hunter.. either method.. I also tried ginving my cats special_atack_suck_blood with a syndrome placed on the vermins blood but even then no syndrome is applied..

up to my next idea: animating vermin remains.

thank you, that is usefull information!

I also found out, that they tend to hang out in places where food lays on the ground. Not just empty foodstocks.
Also, as soon as my fisherdwarves did catch anything, they go there to check for vermin.
