The man who rents a room in my flat said the same to me.
But I do not agree.
You cannot see...

This is not the kind of game where you act as something which disturbs/changes enviroment, but it's a good space simulation and I wish we had X-like game with such a "real" space and ability to land.
This is just a one-man project which can't take the minds of many people like you because it's a special thing. It's a kind of art. You just spend your time staring at the stars and exploring planets.
For sure I thought there're more variety in given info (i.e. soil type, atmosphere contents, ability to name found critters and all), but it's in development and maybe some day it'll be more interactive.

Also I want to recall that noone makes you to stare at those "ugly and boring environments", but it's a perfect thing for me to kill a few minutes between mathphysics studies - I find a planet, land there, spend 5 minutes or so and then continue my university tasks. It relaxes and refreshes my mind greatly.

If I spent this time playing DF/civilization/another favourite game I'd end with an unfinished project for uni and a very short time to sleep.

I can't say it sucks. It's much more interesting than usual spacesims we have around =). I mean if you use your imagination...
And yes, I stare at dead landscapes. But it rocks. Definitely I'll get tired of it, but for now I like it so don't spoil my feelings =).

I can't find a way to see my Li+ reserves though...

I've found CE! (community edition!) It has so many nice features!
Console while on planet! Jetpack! An ability to call your capsule to you! No invisible walls (the area "reloads" after you reach the edge)!

Just wow...

Hello guys, I wanted to make the Noctis-dedicated thread after I saw this AWESOME game on these forums.

Are there any pros who could teach me a bit? Two main questions are
1) why are there "invisible walls" on planets?
2) how to return to ship from planet? I can't find a capsule
3) how to start a new world, I appear at the place where I quit.

Damn it... I wanted to try, but when I loaded I started to lag like hell. Objects were downloading and I saw a very strange slideshow - about 1 frame per 10 seconds.

Is it OK for the computer which runs oblivion 1280x800? 1700 double core, 128 mb ati mobility radeon, 1Gb 3200 DDR?

Try to post on creator's forums, maybe they will help.

I was amazed when I saw one of our popular members this night on a random server.

Pure luck and a wagon of awesomeness!
Maybe we can coordinate our actions and tell each other which servers we play on so we'll do it together =).

I play it almost every day.
It's definitely not CC.
CC is has more "breakable" characters and different physics, also CC is more like strategy/battlezone, while Soldat is pure action-shooter. I like it, and there're a lot of mods.

As I said if I try to save as a usual unicode, it messes up...

P.S. 3 more questions:
1) What is the heir trunk?
2) how do I take traders to my shop? I can hire some at house, but not at the shop. And what does the "investments" do, improve the quality of the items sold?
3) how to put monsters in the monster balls?

Also when I ask a pet to wait at the town, where does it go?
And is there a way to let is stay where it is?

P.S. WOW a lot of questions... Sorry guys =)
When I search something, I get "charcoal", "yelling madman(2)" and other stuff. How to look at it?
Also is there a way to examine your full inventory except "X" and "d"?

P.P.S. How to use a deed? =)

Wow, I couldn't figure it out by myself.
Also what's the right way to edit text files? Every time I try to add my translation and save, I end with unreadeble file with all tabulations and "enters" gone...

How to put things in containers? (Shelves/freezer etc.)

The house editig thing is the most awesome! I've made a small palace from my 1st cave =).

This game seems to have just about everything I'm looking for.  Anybody played it?

Sorry, I missed your post.

I played this game and I should say that I was disappointed.
WEll, the 1st one was a breakthrough, for that time it was very new and fun (bases on planets, ship descents, energy shield <->weapon systems energy transition? Wow!).
But for now this game is kinda... boring. If you play it long enough you'll see what I mean.
Almost the same enemies, almost the same planet maps and almost the same space battles.
It lacks global space structures (like in X/X2/X3), it lacks realism and nice storyline. So basically it has engine and nice content but if it had more features/elements it'd be less boring and much more fun.

It is worth playing though, because maybe I was "bored" because I already seen it in 1st parkan for many years and expected something very new from the 2nd part (which became just a "graphical engine upgrade" for me).

The current game developers should care. If one man can develop such a deep space sim with seamless space, multiplayer and planet landing using DB... the developers should revise the way they work... but they'll never do it for sure. For now it's almost an axiom: the bigger the game the better it is.
