Minor UI issue: when your last active squad disappears, the squad roster is replaced with a screen listing the option to review liberals or hit Z to form a new squad. Hitting Z has the same effect as hitting tab rather than going to the form squad screen.

I agree that the amount of Law seems high... but then so does the Science. What about something like:

+2 Computers
+2 Science
+2 Teaching
+2 Writing
+1 Business
+1 Law

(Extra focus on Teaching to help spread the knowledge around; less Science because, well, it's not horribly useful in activism and social work. It could probably even drop to +1, given that gen ed science is rarely all that deep or even good, but I was trying to keep the numbers the same.)

Hmm, slightly random minor point for a future update: might be good to not allow the driver to perform First Aid during a high-speed chase.

Debug Assertion Failed! (vector subscript out of range)

This came immediately after a thug I had out soliciting donations while packing gunned down the single Police Gang Unit who tried to take them in. "It looks like you've lost them!", crash.

New version. Save available, though I can't see it doing any good under the circumstances.

[Edit: okay, had it happen again under the exact same circumstances, albeit with a different thug.]

Hence why, in my story, the idea for the group was suddenly and irreversibly triggered by a misjudged "2 people can't change the world..." comment ;D.  I've always wondered why the answer to all the nations problems just suddenly appeared out of the air for the starting character.

The journey of a thousand miles, and all that jazz. The LCS is effectively a political cult, and the founder is a messianic figure therein. They're not joining an existing political movement (those aren't *real*, you know?), they're creating a fanatical insurgent group from scratch. From an anti-grind design perspective starting with cadre can make sense, but from a "story" perspective you're just pushing back the moment when The Founder decided, alone and unsupported, to overthrow the status quo ante.

The safest way to get decentish gun skills is to recruit someone who has such skills and have them teach.

Well, if people are scared of you, it would be easier to brainwash someone, since everyone has heard terrifying stories about the LCS and what people can do to them, and also it will make it more likely for people to flee when they see your group (CCS and other important groups could be immune to this).  If society loves you, it would be easier to preach the issues and seduce people.

To expand upon these ideas, albeit perhaps impractically, a high amount of fear might make traditional "easily recruited" people (e.g., Hippies and such... or maybe just just high Heart folk?) harder to recruit. A high amount of love could make non-conservative torture victims that much more dis-Heartened (crushing their fuzzy-bunny-saving idealization of the LCS; conservatives already believe the worst of them).

The Stalinists has its own Media, the Union Gazette.

Shouldn't that really be the New Pravda?  :P

In fact, I believe that either E. Albright or maniac (not sure whom) suggested the idea of the Leninist Crime Squad, which I later changed to the Stalinist Comrade Squad.

That would have been me. Sorta. If you follow the link to the old organization discussion in my prior post, you'll find my mention of the Leninists... however, I wasn't actually suggesting such an entity be added so much as using it as a random example of mapping a political outlook onto issues as portrayed in LCS. The idea was not so much to propose we end up with a bunch of crime squads, but to have interactive organizations that could affect some of the issues. Special interest groups, more or less; NRA, ACLU, and such. For the record, I never actually meant to propose an ocean of terrorist organizations tied to niche political outlooks.

@Gimmick Account:
Multiple organizations have had broader discussion in times past (e.g.) - SC is just the only brave soul who went forward and acted on the discussion.

@Leafsnail:
The main problem I see with what you're laying out here is that all discussion of wealth and income is actually irrelevant if you consider all LCS income is illegal and/or under-the-table. Health care prices could still be indexed to an issue, though: at C+ no Free Clinic and very high prices at the University Hospital; at C, high prices at UH, and the Free Clinic carries a risk of increasing the Wisdom and Religion of its (slow-healing) patients; at M, the current status quo, possibly with healing times increased at the FC; at L, the FC has normal healing times and the UH has moderate prices; at L+ the FC and UH are both free and unburdened by healing time penalties. Or something to that effect; that was written up with very little thought given to it.

I honestly was never a big fan of even just the CCS. I grudgingly got used to it, but still wouldn't complain about being able to play without it, let alone others.

My GF had a friend from high school who named her kids Oranjello and Lemonjello. Also, I've heard census reports that brand naming your kids is on the rise, so lots of people are naming their kids Levi, BlackandDecker, and Maytag.

All that and no win. In my defense, I should have probably had at least 15-20 fewer hours logged playing, but I got distracted mid-game a couple of times and wandered off for hours on end with PuTTY open.

Nice work, everyone! 5th place is hardly shabby!

Incidentally, 78291 is a sick, sick git. In addition to personally racking up more points than any but the top three clans, winning with every single Nemelex's Choice combo (plus nineteen times beyond that), getting 10/14 banners, and winning with every god but Xom and Nemelex... he also managed to take top honors in lowest XL rune-snagging... with an XL 8 grab of the Decaying Rune. Eek.

[e] Hmm... I really shouldn't look over the rest of his games 'cause they'll make me ill. E.g. Spriggans are so overpowered.

Sure. Get attacked by a berserk bear, outside of the Abyss. At least then I'd have stood a chance.

Some day, I'll get banished and live to tell the tale... some day...
