One thing to remember is that even if you lose enough juice to drop a stat and the associated skill cap, you'll keep the experience in the skill. You'll also continue to accrue experience in a skill if you use it at the skill cap. So if you go the prostitution route, you can train seduction enough that when you go recover your lost juice, it'll immediately jump up to an impressively high level.

I concur with Luis. All TRP in Bangkok should vote for Butterz from the ICSP. Far better a mayor from a friendly minor party than another drone from the TNT echo chamber.

I've made an explicit calling-out of TNT mismanagement and imperiousness in my leftist rag. Given how TNT cadre have been whining that our contempt for Beloved Leader is just whiny sour grapes, it seemed time we address head-on why Rockman is bad for eThailand. Please review it and point out anything that I wrote that might be considered unstrategic, impolitic, or inaccurate.

Also: we do need to start thinking about drawing up the party slate of Congress members for the 01/10 general election. If you're serious about getting the newcomer faction more involved in things, this is the real opportunity to do so. We will in principle be bringing in as many votes as the TRP old guard, so in fairness we should have equal representation on the electoral slate, and also equal prominence. I.e., if we list 10 candidates, it shouldn't be the case that the top five spots go to old guard, and us young Turks are all left in the bottom positions to get in if and only if we pick up new seats (which we will, but that's not the point).

And on that note, I'd be interested in being on the slate.

The Congressional elections in v1 are going to be... ugly. Since it'll be uninominal voting rather than party slate voting, we're going to have to coordinate having X many people vote for each candidate if we don't want to just trust in the vagaries of personal electioneering. That's... messy. And ugly. It'll mean we'll be playing chicken with TNT.

How many seats are there in Congress? There are 27 ATM; is that determined by overall population, or is it fixed? The wiki doesn't say anything about this that I can see. Come v1 we'll have to guess how many people TNT will be able to get to vote for each of their candidates, and assign at least that many plus one people to vote for each of ours. This next election is still the nicer, cleaner party slate method.

Even if we don't get a mayoral candidate, it's not the end of the world. Mayors will be gone when v1 hits, and that'll be before their term expires.

Do be aware that according to the latest press releases, any mayor elected will last only until V1 hits, and then the office will disappear... and V1 is slated for a release between 01/10 and 15/10.

To avoid killing hostages, don't beat or drug them if they're weak, and give them food and water. Generally, try not to beat anyone for more than a day or two unless they're really tough and/or wise.

It can also help to have two interrogators; I used to use a brainwashed hanging judge with 1 Heart and 1 Wisdom to do horrible things to hostages for a few days, then my founder or a liberal judge would turn off the torture, and on the charm. Splitting duties like that gives you a chance to lower their Wisdom will not making them hate the interrogator that will eventually try to convert them.

Also, if you don't want excess converts, and don't want to send brainwashed victims on suicide missions, you can always get and keep an amoral thug to take over interrogations after kidnappings are discovered, and just have 'em beat and drug them without trying to convert them.

Don't know about the food shortage - I must say it kinda worries me. Especially since I just bailed out of the Food industry into Housing. I personally have enough stores to see me through almost a month without starving, but my wellness will suffer if I can't score some more Q3 grub within a week.

I can invest my meager 1g and, say, 200 THB.

(When I immigrated, someone was selling THB at a 1 THB/0.003g exchange rate, so I have well more THB than I "should").

I'd be willing to switch my meager Food experience to Housing, and in fact had put up my CV in that domain yesterday. I also have 4 invites and 1g, FWIW.

And in the context, shouldn't we be Zach's goons?   :P ;)

[e] I got a job offer in the Housing domain, at the same salary of 4 THB per day I had in Food, so I've really nothing to lose and will make the switch for the greater good.

I'm wanting to say it was at least 500-ish.

In addition to Housing, Thailand lacks Gifts. Now, there is a Gift Thai company that just touted its upgrading to QL 2, but it's not clear if this will mean an increase in reasonably-priced Gifts on the market - the current 14 THB for a QL 2 Gift is ridiculous.

Beorn:

I must say that Rody has some seriously authoritarian notions about democratic insititutions, as evinced by his charming assertion that someone needs to apologize for daring to challenge the elected president's authority by standing in a party election, that everyone needs to obey Luis or get out, etc.

Frankly, for all his apparent self-styling as a socialist, methinks he'd feel far more at home in a Leninist/Stalinist cadre.
