I just found the source for that Chinese frog meme I databent for delphonso some time ago! The video is called "when you stub your toe" by wavetro, and the 3D model used there was used for a video called "Where is "dat boi" now?" by the same person.

I was randomly suggested the latter, and I realized "hold up, isn't that the 3D model I 'bent some time ago"? Then YT recommendations showed me a reupload of the former video, and the description credited the original "when you stub your toe". On that video, everything just clicked. It made sense now. That was the source. I feel like I've cracked a very small code.

Using file and binwalk on the file shows that it's not a polyglot (file that is more than one format at once):
Code: [Select]
dingus@LAPTOP-4K83GCUT:/mnt/c/Users/foo/Downloads$ file --keep-going 1618932412812.mp4
1618932412812.mp4: ISO Media, MP4 v2 [ISO 14496-14]\012-  (Lepton 2.x), scale 0-350, spot sensor temperature -0.000000, unit celsius, color scheme 0, show spot sensor, calibration: offset 0.000000, slope 0.000000\012- data
Code: [Select]
dingus@LAPTOP-4K83GCUT:/mnt/c/Users/foo/Downloads$ binwalk 1618932412812.mp4

DECIMAL       HEXADECIMAL     DESCRIPTION
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1136637       0x1157FD        MPEG transport stream data

Honestly, I'm more baffled that this isn't a polyglot; would've been more exciting. It would've gotten clobbered into one format during either the upload to TikTok or Discord, so maybe there was an attempt?

Edit:
It's a tiktok video of a cat drinking wine from a glass and subsequently getting drunk and having trouble getting up some stairs.

That sounds like a Terrible Suggestion: "Cruel and nature-hating dwarves will randomly give cats alcohol for fun."

Yeah, in a PM, she said that she needed to focus on her studies more, so she had to cut Bay12 out, at least for the time being. Considering her frankly-incredible post rate before she had to leave, yeah, I think that was justified. I'd imagine playing pretty much every forum game that pops up is a massive distraction.

I took my meds last night after having already taken them last last night (standard schedule is on-off-on-off) for mental stability reasons, and now I just feel so out of it. I'm still able to think and speak (give or take), but my judgement tells me that I shouldn't ride my bike today. Hell, even walking might not be particularly safe. I'm not even upset anymore, I did it as a preemptive measure. May have been a little aggressive on the meds this time round, though.

Oh, and I have an appointment with my shrink today, so I will have to go to somewhere relatively-secluded for a bit. Damnit. Poor planning on my part. I'll just hope I'll be there enough to explain my situation. My brain ain't as sharp as it usually is.

-snip-

Strange? Must be my bias (I mean, guy who seems knowledgeable, very scientific, says stuff that agrees with my beliefs...), but I wouldn't call that strange. If anything, your strategy reads like an enforced Pollyanna principle. It's optimistic, but it uses reason as the anti-negative force, rather than just a nebulous "everything was hunky-dory, so it is now" feeling in the classical principle. I can see why it's hard to do. People in general don't particularly enjoy thinking (hell, I'm guilty of this most of the time; look at my YT watch history).

I think my shrink may have taught me structurally the same thing. All this stuff about "you can't change what happened in the past, but you can change your reaction to it", "no such thing as mind control", and "expect only the bare minimum out of others", it's making use of reason to challenge negativity. Must be why I'm agreeing wholeheartedly with you here.

But then again, you seem to expose yourself to fucked-up shit on a weekly, if not daily basis, and you seem perfectly fine. I can't do that. I don't have that kind of resilience. I filter out a lot of content (in the general sense), and I wonder if I'm stunting my own emotional and intellectual growth by making a conscious effort to avoid things I don't like, even if they may provide further context and prepare me for when people do eventually oppose me. It will happen, so why am I not acting like it?

Is there a reason why adults tend to be somehow terrible at handling and processing emotions? I want to say it's a gender role thing, but I'm fairly certain it's a trait that happens regardless of gender, just that the stereotypes of how it manifests are different. I know emotions are hard, but why is it that people who are "normal", who innately "get it", still struggle with that?

623
unverifiable, therefore true!

Suppose if you had this function, f(x), and a sequence of random real numbers, R, such that its values are in the range (0,1], and f's definition looks like:
f(x) = sin(2pi * (x / R[0])) when 0 < x < R[0]
f(x) = sin(2pi * ((x - R[0]) / R[1])) when R[0] < x < R[0] + R[1]
f(x) = sin(2pi * ((x - R[0] - R[1]) / R[2])) when R[0] + R[1] < x < R[0] + R[1] + R[2]
...

And the intended idea here is that every time f(x) completes a full cycle, its period changes to a random value for the next cycle. And when that cycle ends, it changes again. And over and over across the non-negative real number line. It's basically a sequence of 1-cycle sine waves of varying periods just glued together at the zero crossings in succession.

Does a function like this, with a period that changes randomly every cycle, still considered to be a periodic function? Is there a name for this class of function?

Xavier Renegade Angel is just.....deeply unpleasant.

I'd agree, yes, but there's just so many things going on in that show that I can't even tell what the fuck's going on. The subject matter is just... horrific, but I can't get disgusted while I'm in such deep confusion. It's like a trainwreck. I can't look away. Most shows have a "sync" duration, where it takes some amount of time to sync up and get familiar with the world and characters of said show. XRA is one of the few shows where the sync duration is infinite. I can't tell you what the plot even is. I could've sworn I just watched white noise.

Whoever wrote the Wikipedia page on XRA, you have my condolences. I don't know how you study such an incomprehensible show, while not ending up being incomprehensible yourself.

Trying to watch Xavier Renegade Angel. I thought Eric Andre was absurd; this is Eric Andre to the power of Eric Andre. It's like the show's ascended this mortal plane, and it's just beamed its insight onto DVD-quality media for the world to behold. I'm beyond flabbergasted, this... this is stuff you show to AIs; if they don't immediately crash, they're considered to be superhuman. And the best part is that the main character's a dumbass of epic proportions. I dunno, maybe his intelligence goes so high, that it ends up wrapping around to idiot-level.

If I look at it another way, I may have found a show that flushes the emotion buffers and fills it with pure, unadulterated confusion. 10/10, would recommend. Eric Andre, Trout Mask Replica, The Shaggs, they ain't got shit on the mind-clearing ability of this show.

Damn nerds thinking they're so great, well they're not there are way better candies out there than them!
I may be mixing up my candies here, but Nerds taste like flavored chalk. Barely-flavored chalk. I don't know who the target audience is, but it sure as hell ain't me. I prefer breath mints myself, entirely for the taste. That sensation of having my tongue "burn" from the mint flavor is addictive.

Ninja'd.

If REISUB doesn't work, that means the kernel itself is unresponsive, so I'm willing to bet a hardware/system config issue first rather than a kernel issue (assuming you're not running bleeding-edge kernels). I'll wait for the syslogs, though.
