Hm. I'd swear my pony ate a few corpses of some sort. Maybe lichen?

Yup. When ponies are near starvation they will eat food rations as well. But note that this is not a good way to keep a pony alive, as when near starving their HP will be halved, and have to heal it back normally. Apples, carrots and lichens will keep a horse well-fed much longer than if you eat them.

And a question: Why do pets rearrange store items, and how can you stop this?

BTW, if you want to keep your pets from messing with your stash, you can put a cursed item on the same square. Pets don't like cursed items and will be reluctant to step on one unless it is the only path available, or when there's food to eat.

Bones files. Gah. Multiple water demons on one level...as I'm running back to the upstairs, I find a bunch of messed up Elbereths. Poor person. Fortunately, I got both of them upstairs, spammed E for a few turns on the stair, and got back down. This was on DL:4, XP: 4.

(On NAO....)

EDIT:
And they had a pony and a dog. I died.

You don't have to fight wild pets if you don't want to.

Well, that's good to hear.

What artifacts would I want to attempt to get other than Magicbane (as a Wizard)? It seems pretty awesome, saying it's a dagger and can one-turn engrave Elbereth. And has freaky magic stuff.

And how would I get said Artifacts? I've never found any Wishing wands, they seem to be pretty rare.

For wish wand,

Though as a wizard you won't be needing a lot of artifacts, and you can safely wish for one or two more artifacts with Magicbane created. The abilities of Magicbane are extremely useful for a young character.

I just read elsewhere today that it's going to be region locked like SC2. This is getting more absurd by the minute.

Made Wise Owlite, got invited to Emberlight by Bluecheesemacaroni. Used my mist tank and glitched Bluecheese into the gate. We went forward to T3... actually completed the first level by the two of us with only 1 revive each.

Then people joined and left, and finally Bluecheese, a stranger and I made it to the Core.

Total game time: 4 days, 20 hours, 35 minutes and 31 seconds.

Orcus Town is the best place to go if you're short on provisions, good armor and strong weapons, but keep in mind the large and giant mimics (unless you've genocided them, then the whole shop is yours for the looting). I've fought a small mimic in NetHack on my dad's iPod Touch. Those suckers hit HARD. I, on a couple of occasions, died INSTANTLY after being hit by one.

Giant mimics hit hard. The normal version's hits can be survived unless you're the most fragile type.

Tomorrow I'll be able to craft Wise Owlite and get T3 access... surviving there is entirely another issue though.

You also never get purged if your account has a Mr. A or other donation item, as I remember.

And they don't care how you get it. I bought a Ms. A with meat and my account's still there.

You can get money for better ship and equipment by exploring. Just run from all monsters, concentrate on exploring lifeless planets and claiming minerals. If you found drifting space ships, you can score a new ship for free. Just shoot a hole in the outer hull, that kills most monsters due to vacuum exposure.

Scientists are very useful... they analyze scanned planet data and collected alien artifacts. Once you start fighting robots, they also help you to overcome the robots' defense systems and start oxygen supplies.

No it's not me... someone used energy to revive all. Definitely worth it since it's JK and power surge.

There's a reason why we call them Redshirts... :D

No, everyone in the team can shoot and kill. But the redshirts usually die first when things attack. Remember to adjust their tactics (T iirc)... the default settings will make your team fight recklessly and got them killed quickly. Change to a defensive tactics and they'll do better.

A team of 5 is in no shape to fight aliens... also, make sure you've adjusted their tactics into more defensive settings.
