You all argue about how easy it is to hit a predictable orbit object, the earth. Absolutely it CAN be easy, if your calculations are right. The problem is the Earth"s natural shieldS. The moon is our shield of last resort. We have everything from Jupiter to the Solar wind working to beat back them alien xenocidal missiles. "But Kogan," you call, "any elementary-grade Folabboxi can compute these variables to decimals our tiny human brains can't comprehend! They will just find that sweet spot and it will get through!"
Well, to answer you, I pose this question. You have a 10" diameter marble launched at .7625c from Alpha centauri towards earth, perfectly aimed at the sweet spot. 1/2 a light year away, you have a stationary butterfly's wing angled 1 degree offset from dead on, perfectly in the path of the marble.
What happens to that marble?

Okay, take away the butterfly's wing and instead add in a few dozen objects with the mass  of pluto randomly moved along likely paths of assault. As long as the intellegent agressor has no wamprats back home, we can defeat attacks by missiles we can't really make yet using technology within our reach today. And even if they were successful, we're not that far off from extraterrestrial colonies, and airless areas aren't in danger from this sort of attack. Mankind is on the cusp of being durable like no earth species before, and we're bringing cats and dogs with us. The jury's still out on elephants and dolphins. One thing is for sure, I hope our fellow earthlings aren't as intellegent as some people think they are...

Okay, so, the DNC was ursurped. Jerusalem and god made it on their platform, amongst a wave of boos. Obama didn't seem to speak out against this, so it appears he accepts this.

Does this change views here?

I am announcing here that this stance has changed who I plan to vote for. I still am maintaining Stubbs/Scamps would be the best ticket for 2012, but I'm giving up on all except one of the two main party choices, as a direct result of the DNC adopting Jerusalem and god through a vocal minority that counts as 2/3rds for some reason. To avoid a solid locking of thks topic, I have no intent to say how.

Anyone else been affected by this and had it change their vote?

I'd forgive him his statements if he were, and didn't abort. One thing to claim what he does when he never has to worry about facing it himself. Another thing entirely to put his life on line for his values.

There may be many things Obama cannot do, but those things on the list I provided are things he can easily do, if he cared to.
Fear is never justification for not doing the right thing, even if it is fear of political fallout.

As for Manning, we have laws specifically designed to protect whistleblowers. The wikileak leaks were leaks stemming from violations of the constitution or laws of the USA. If he broke the law in revealing this, the law is at fault for concealing the wrongdoing.
Pardoning doesn't need a reason, but in this case it would have one.

The propaganda machine has been spouting off since Romney declaredc he'd visit Israel about how pro-Israel each politician is. They cynically explain that this action has no bad concequences because there is no significant voter base that disagrees with a Pro-Israel statement.

So... Battlefield state americans... Do you disagree with this? Is their pro israel stance a good idea?

I'll start. My home is Colorado Springs. It has a high concentration of evangelicals. Most people there disagree with me when I call Israel another theocratic rogue state in the middle east. Net, I'd say it's a good bet to make in Colorado Springs. There a few of us, mostly athiest, who think that way though.

Someone joked about shooting a plane down with a rocket launcher. Not something you wanna laugh at. Drones are airplanes, and them boys with arsonals are getting targeted by drones now. Just cameras on US soil, but bet that this situation  of a rocketlauncher will happen someday.
