Ram, he had a picture of a character in his head. That's why I suggested the Double Great Scimitars. If I could think of a light version of a weapon that would fit with his mental image I'd have suggested that for the off hand to improve his average damage. The ability to accurately hit will be much more valuable since we are talking about adding Backstab at level 7-8ish. (5-6 Ranger, 2 Scorpion Herator)

It isn't the "Ideal" killing character, but it's got that Arabian guy from the Prince of Thieves movie, and the Desert Ranger guy from the modern Mummy Movies.

Desert Ranger guy I think: http://splicd.com/vc74BKr75O4/48/87
Arabian guy I think he means this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXvdwCb5zP4

They are both wrapped in lots of cloth and carry around a Scimitar. They both use a single weapon, but that would put him at a disadvantage. As such, I figured adding a second great Scimitar would be a good idea. He could drop the feat and go with standard scimitars instead, or use the great scimitar two handed.

I suggested the riding scorpion because it fit with the Scorpion Herator class he might want to do, but alternatively he might go horse and eagle like desert ranger guy went.

Edit: Here's the details of a possible Desert Orc:
22Str(16), 12Dex(4), 14Con(6), 8Int(2), 8wis(2), 8cha(2)
WasteRanger1:Exotic Weapon (Great Scimitar), Weapon Focus (Great Scimitar), Flaw of some sort, {+Track, 1st Favored Enemy, & Wild Empathy}
WasteRanger2:{Combat Style:Two Weapon Fighting}
WasteRanger3:Scorpion's Resolve {+Heat Endurance}
WasteRanger4:{Animal Companion:If Shoruke allows a Riding Scorpion}
WasteRanger5:{2nd Favored Enemy}
After Ranger 5, you should qualify for Scorpion Herator. At Scorpion Herator 2 you gain Sneak Attack +1d6. You might want to consider taking Oversized Two Weapon fighting here as well which makes the Great Scimitar count as a light weapon. Complete Adventurer Page 111.

The high strength is to ensure the best chance of hit possible. This build should result in lots of hits. Since Scorpion Herator is a Prestige class, he doesn't have to worry about Multiclassing.

How about a Wasteland Ranger?
Get your strenght up as high as you can and put the remaining points where you feel it is most useful to you.
Get Exotic Weapon proficiency and Get a pair of Masterwork Great Scimitars. Your fighting style would be two weapon combat, so you wouldn't need anything to turn it into -4 -4. With the 18-20 threat range of the scimitars and 1d8 damage they do, you should see some nice critical hit actions going on.

Get Scorpion's Resolve. When you got 8 ranks of hide, make yourself a Scorpion Herator prestiege class. (I think that'd be level 6, but if you can pull it off earlier it would be worth getting as soon as you can.)

For an animal companion, I recommend talking to Shoruke and seeing if you can't get yourself a Riding Scorpion or something equally exotic and awesome :)

For a Race, Bhuka might be interesting, but the -2 strength would hurt pretty badly here. Painted Elf would be interesting. Human would be useful for the extra feat and skill points.

I did not intend to make Stihe a melee-orientated person at all. She is pretty much designed to be non-combat or casting augmentation. She also has a very versatile magical toolbox which should allow her to be the bane of enemy spellcasters and help solve complex magical puzzles. She does have several real big holes in her build though, which require cooperation with others. Since we have a lot of power, the weakness in combat and certain other roles isn't too big of a problem though. She makes up for it with her skills in other areas. For example, Stihe is a good at infiltration, and is certainly the best at it in the party. While it is Unlikely that role will be nessessary, it is also unlikely that a barrel of holy water being carried around would be useful as well, but the first time the situation was encountered where it could solve a problem having the Barrel ended up looking like foresight. Stihe's skills are the same way.

For your build, I'm thinking with a little application of poison, you could be pretty darn scary.

If you really want to have a different character though, describe it here and we will be able to help you build it.

OOC: Did some searching! Andre is about the height and weight of an very short Human woman. Which is about double what a halfling should be!

Maybe your freakish height was the reason for the marital strife? Dad, after seeing Stihe being the tiny little thing, looks at you and thinks mom was screwing around with a human? Maybe she was even ;)

(Edit: Speaking of Background, ya sitting on Daggerfall for a reason? :) Or am I supposed to post it? Oh and Haika, don't worry about RPing as you RP. It might be funny to have that particular interaction pop up. It'd certainly open a whole barrel of Roleplaying if it happened.)

Well, Isaak is pretty sleezy, but I'm not sure he's /that/ sleezy. I rack it up to him not knowing anything about halfling biology, and assuming she's older. Should be rather amusing when he finds out, if he ever brings that into active roleplay.

Well... That would be... interesting. I wonder how Andre would react to an adult human putting the moves on his kid sister :)

...
Anyway, I can believe he couldn't tell a Halfling child from a Halfling adult. They are all short.
BUT...
Stihe is about HALF the height of Andre. Part of that is because Andre is a freakishly large halfling at either 4'9" or 4'11" (depending on if it's a point or a separator) and weighing in at a Whopping 100 Lbs, but given the relation it's probably pretty easy to see that Stihe is significantly younger than Andre. 17 year old standing next to a 12 year old, pretty easy to see the differences even if one is the Shawn Bradley of Halflings (or some other famous tall person)

636
...
She's a 15 year old halfling...
That is about 12 in human years.
So yea, I don't think Izaak would find her attractive at all...
Spoiler: He might though... (click to show/hide)

DF General Discussion / Re: Questions about SPOILERS!

If you use a spoiler tag, it is okay to use the proper words for it. If you use the words you used in the spoiler, then you associate those words with the spoilers, which defeats using them at all.

That's all fine to me because I think using those words is rather stupid and pointless and would be happy if people would stop with that being common terms for it, but that's a different point.

It'd be awesome if they could spread throughout the world though. Imagine if they could... That'd make you think twice before

The Queen's Crown of The Patterned Coal. I like the the Imagery of the God of Metals on the crown. It seems like she is a ruthless and unforgiving Goddess. Especially in light of the lack of metal apparently in the crown and the Laughter she exhibits. Well, except the copper.

The first rule about Dwarf Fortress is there are no rules about Dwarf Fortress.
The Second rule of Dwarf Fortress is irrelevant, since you broke the first rule about Dwarf Fortress.

Well, looks like exercise and see a shrink statements are already taken, and for whatever reason I have decided to respond, so here is my solution to your problem...

Develop your breasts!
Apparently Male lactation is possible, and Breastfeeding is a natural way that Females have to cure Hormonal Instability postpartum.
So, there's my Off the wall answer.

It'll also give you something to talk to the shrink about at a later date :)

Life Advice / Re: Horribly confusing networking/router problem
« on: August 15, 2011, 05:12:41 pm »
Yes, obviously there's both an ethernet NIC and a wireless one. I thought you meant two ethernet ones. I have no idea why you think this would actually cause a problem. The wireless adapter should not be doing anything when the ethernet adapter is the one being used, and vice-versa. Christ, normally I only have one of them enabled anyway.
Exactly. Disable one and try again. There being 2 enabled is known to cause problems.
