@Itnetlolor:
Uh, well I'm probably not. Sorry to drop out of something I was trying to organise myself, but two weeks on and I have assignments due and group work to sort out. Quite a few people expressed their interest in here so feel free to organise a game amongst yourselves.

Ah, whatever. :P

That should be all of the character files I used in the updates.
http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Installing_Sims_3_Package_Files/Setup_and_Files
There's a link that should explain how to install the package files.

The .zip file includes all of the characters you see in the series. Suika Ibuki's two files are installed like the usual mod files (double click than install from the launcher).

Oh, Yuka Kazami and Nitori Kawashiro I made myself, using the very robust customisation tools present within the base game.
I did use another mod that extends the facial sliders for more extreme changes, x2 is what I used I believe. (Oo, also. I might've included one character who's not from Touhou, since I can't read japanese I downloaded all the files that looked appropriate, so one of them is of that squid-girl from an anime)

Hmm... anything else.

Well, in the first update you can see the Scarlet Devil Mansion. By the end of the series I had created most of the characters houses (Based off designs I first made in Minecraft )
This includes the Hakurei Shrine, Kirisame Magic Shop, Scarlet Devil Mansion (improved from what you see in the first update), Hakugyokurou and blah blah. I did use some japanese style housing mods for Hakugyokurou for things like sliding doors and bamboo mats. Base expansions that would be needed are World Adventures, and Ambitions.

Note:: The clothing mods DON'T require any mods to work. Some of the clothes are restricted to certain ages. (Remilia/Flandre are child, Yukari is Young Adult - Adult - Elder, Reimu is Teen - Young Adult)

I'm willing to share the buildings, but I'm not sure exactly how I should go about doing so. I think I can upload them to the Sims 3 database (ingame). I'll look into it if your interested.

SUCCESS! I'm able to make it switch back and forth whenever I want. The trick I use is to focus on the lower foot and the shadow to make it spin counter-clockwise, and to focus on the outstretched foot to make it spin clockwise.

Ugh, now I'm all dizzy and have a slight headache.  :(

Castlevania style tower?  :P

With the increased height limit, I've often thought of building a large, sprawling, clifftop castle. The layouts so chaotic that people could just add towers and halls where ever they want with corridors, tunnels and walkways connecting it all together.

I might be interested in joining, though are there any mods being used?

@Kaijyuu: I spent the last 10 minutes or so trying to make that image flip from spinning one direction to the other. Was able to a few times, and managed to get royally confused one time when I saw the lower foot spinning one way and the rest of the body the other.

Hnn, I don't know whether I should get involved in all this, but I'm going to anyway.

From my view, we tend to seperate people who are criminals, sexual or theft type, from the rest of the population as if they are completly different people. From this view it follows that we should be able to preempt crimes as those who perform them were going to anyway.

Ugh, this is why I'm kind of loathe to comment, it's difficult to express my views accurately through text.

Plowing on. I'll use the example of surveillence cameras. These were implemented to curtail crimes, catching people when they're performed as well as keeping watch over an area to discourage crime. As far as I can tell this hasn't had as great an impact on crime prevention as people thought, and I would hazard a guess that this is because they're generally ignored. Due to that, more people are caught after the crime, but the prevention of crime in the first place is not something they stop.
From that, the logical path would be to keep tabs on everyone so they can perceive crime before it's even perpetrated. That is a less than feasable or desirable action, because everyone is now a suspect.

If you read the above, then I might say that my view is that there's not much you can do to prevent crime with police or like, other than deal with it when it occurs. Now, don't follow the train of thought that I'm suggesting that then we shouldn't do anything, because I've had that happen before, and it's a rather unfair dismissal.
Now, I would suggest that the rise in crime is due to the increase in population. (a larger population means that there's a greater percentage of people who would perform crime, but that isn't specific people. Factors might contribute it, but it's down to the individual person to decide). This increase in population has meant that there is less of a community amongst neighbours. This drop in community would mean that there'd be less self policing, if that makes sense. If people know each other, than they can evaluate peoples personalities and judge those who are likely to do such things before they do.

It's difficult to foster a community over an entire city, thus we tend to see such closeknit communities in small villages, or in direct neighbours in a street. There is a lot of distrust protrayed over the news and media that makes people paranoid about going out and talking to each other, this would contribute quite heavily to the loss of community. People don't talk because they are suspicious of those they don't know.

Blah blah blah, has that all made sense? I hope people aren't going to judge me completely on a few sentences of musing.  :P

Creative Projects / Re: Random Things you drew/shopped/made/etc.
« on: April 05, 2012, 05:22:17 am »
Back near the start of this year I bought Minecraft. After building a castle and the usual things I was stumped with what to build next.

So... Touhou happened.  ::)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The majority of the buildings are based off what official artwork I could find (not much) and the backgrounds from IaMP, SWR and Hisoutensoku. Where I lacked official pictures I used fanart (such as with the Palanquin Ship), what I could remember from the scenes present in the games (again with the Palanquin Ship, the deck is based off the pattern in game), or I just used what I imagined it to be like (Scarlet Devil Mansion for the layout, though the library, foyer and clock tower are based off backgrounds, as well as the basic design for the front. It's from a small, black and white pencil sketch).

I feel compelled to add that most of it was build by hand. Though, for my own sanity and good health the bamboo forest I build using repeated squares that slotted together (Straight, Corner, Dead End, Crossroads etc), the earth around the Palanquin Ship and some areas underground were excavated using MCEdit.

I've had this sitting on my computer for ages, but there's no fun keeping it for myself.. so here you all go. I encourage you to explore the area (The buildings are all pretty close together (usually just within sight of each other). If I was to draw a line around the border, than the Hakurei Shrine, Scarlet Devil Mansion, Hakugyokurou, Palanquin Ship and Eientei would be on the edges.
Use it for whatever. Building, exploring, roleplaying (keep me in mind if you plan to, I'd be interested in observing, maybe taking part), or blowing up/burning it all to the ground. :P

40meg, and it's compressed into a .zip file called Enerva. Copy the Enerva folder into your Minecraft save folder. It'll most likely need patch 1.2.5 installed, but no other mods are required.
On Windows 7 it is located at:
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft
the AppData folder might be hidden. Unfortunately I can't remember at the moment how to make folders visible.

Anyway, enjoy all y'all!

Bwarg! I apologise for seemingly leaving this in the dust. I must confess that I overlooked the problem of time period, this was quite the spontaneous post, driven by a sudden desire to play some games I've got multiplayer since I've never done so.

Hm, well five people so far (six including myself). Sadly there's only 4 character slots (I think? I know you can have any combination of characters) so I'll have to pick and choose.

As for time, as I said I didn't give it much thought. Around now is when I usually have time to play, though seeing as there's holidays anywhere from 10 hours ago to 4 hours into the future is fine.

Stated plainly. Timezone is Melbourne, Australia. If I get messages from those interested with steam account I'll add you and see if I can invite people as they come online. I'll probably run it first come, first served due to the uncertainty of when people are online, though please don't feel your restricted to joining my game, set up another if you want amongst the others and we could possibly have some sort of achievement/bragging thing going.

Characters. We can start from level 1, it should still be a challange as the difficulty scales with the number of players. I'll organise it so we've got one of each class going.

2939
Yes, PC. As far as I know, steam doesn't let other platforms to connect to a game, neither do the other platforms vice versa.

2940
Hey there everydorf, I feel like playing some multiplayer games for fun and giggles. The two games I have in mind are (of course) Borderlands (GotY version) or Dead Island (I'm not sure whether the DLC changes anything for this one, but I just have the base game). We can start from the beginning and keep going until people have had enough or have to go.

See to the poll above, vote for one or the other, and if you feel like joining in with me, post or PM me your steam account and I'll add you to the game.

The limit of players in either game is 4, and there's four different characters in each. I'm not fussed by what people want to play, but one of each character would make things more interesting.

I might add that we can record the game if people want, so other forumites can watch. Though I don't know anything about recording and/or what programs to use.
