I dont quite get why peaple are having truble thinking in 4d, it takes more power, yes, but not that much more and only because more dimentions always take up more power. It might be hard to render in realtime, yes, but that shouldn't prevent thinking about it.
That...no way I mean, how can you do that? Are you honestly capable of imagining all four dimensions, what does that even looks like?
I'm not quite sure how one can be unable to think in 4 dimensions, 5-7 is were one shuld start to have trouble, but really...

As for *rendering* it, that's a bit harder, because you have to convert an n-dimentional procedural or vector format of some kind into a raster grapic with 2 spatial dimentions and 1 time, as that's what the visual cortex is hardwired for, but it's still not that hard at least up to 5 or so.

One easy method is to use two 2d planes, one one you project a "shadow" of the 4d object as a reference, for each point on that image, you then have the other plane take a slice of the other two dimensions
Then you overlay a space filling curve (or just a semi-space filling zigzag for simplicity), and move a point along that curve, and render the corresponding contend of the second plane. and there you have it, 4 spatial dimensions rendered in 2 spatial and 1 time.
You can also use the perspective rendering from 3d to 2d and a volume filling curve to make this work with up to 6 dimensions, provided you have good enough temporal resolution and/or good enough memory. Note that this include BOTH spatial and temporal dimensions.

Also, you if the geometry is simple enough along some dimensions, (just a thickness, or displacement) you can colour code them, combined with the above methods this should let you render AT LEAST 9d, possibly 12d or so, provided that shapes are suited for it.

We can't think in four spatial dimensions. We can only create allusions toward it. Since we can't perceive or feel anything in a fourth spatial dimension, our minds can't calculate what it would be like to do so. It's like imagining you have an arm growing out of your eyeballs. Can you feel with it? No, because it doesn't exist.

We can think in three spatial dimensions and one non-spatial one, time. Can you imagine something happening ten minutes from now? Then you are thinking in time.

Well anyway, this derailedness started from someone talking about immortality in alternate universes, which led to talks of extra dimensions.

I don't know why we would have an instinct that makes us believe in an afterlife, after all, wouldn't it make us work harder to survive if we thought there wasn't? It could be something that makes humans more likely to sacrifice themselves for other humans, but very few people would actually do that.

Unlike the penguins.

The knockoffs, I mean. Inaluct is cool.

^ I've always thought about that. If you were looking from a four dimensional perspective, we would look something like snakes, long in one dimension but short in the others, depending on how long a year is in relation to meters. we could compare memory with the snake's nervous system, with the head being the main bunch, and being able to 'sense' what is going on behind it.

Of course, there are 11 dimensions. Or 10. Depending on whether you count from zero. That ruins the analogy.

Am unnaturally buff dwarf with "BOOMER" on his shirt swinging a spiked sapphire chain at an elf.

I am aware, I hope that when I die I can be reincarnated into a body more suited to understanding the universe around it. When I have become jaded with this world, I would hope to begin life in a far more complex reality, such as one with four spatial dimensions.

If this were true, I'd never run out of things to explore, as there could be an infinite number of extra spatial dimensions, and that's not even counting the number of variant 3-dimensional universes.

In the end, I find infinity to an extremely interesting subject.

If I am cursed to End I can die with the satisfaction that I will always have lived. That my death will inspire others, and they will inspire even more.

I'll worry about the afterlife as it comes. Life is for living. I suggest you focus on the current place in which you live.

My current belief system is based on what you leave behind, not how or why you do it. If you spent the time and energy to achieve greatness you deserve it. Everyone should try and make this world better rather than expend resource trying to make people happy in the next life. (Which is why I dislike evangelists, as they are focused entirely on the afterlife.)

I have some reason to believe there is an afterlife, but I won't count on it. After all, how can a beginning be worth anything when there is no end?

Due to some recent research, I have found out that the pent-up anger theory is bullpies.

Keep your anger inside, and it will wither and die. Never let it see the sun. I've learned to do that, I managed to go through my freshman year in high school without so much as yelling, pushing, or even insulting. I didn't punch pillows, scream at the top of my lungs, or break anything. I just began to take deep breaths, and imagined myself as a being without the weight of instinctual emotion.

Rather than complain about problems, I think about how to solve them. People think of me as naively happy, as though nothing matters to me. The truth is, I eliminate all reasons for me to be unhappy.

People often see me as an ass. I acknowledge that I am blunt and have a particularly abrasive personality, but I try my hardest to be respectful of others. Occasionally, someone will do something to end my respect, such as those who would actively detriment others for petty reasons. When that happens, I quickly and calmly express my pity, usually with predictions of our futures.

More often then not, they do not understand the psychological blow I just dealt them, and seem angry and confused. This makes everyone around them see them as pathetic, leading to ostracism. To be pitied by the least popular guy in school.

It's good fun.

Edit: In hindsight, Damn, I'm evil. I'm not in public school anymore, preferring homeschool.

So, I have found this really awesome site for DMs called obsidian portal, and I've been messing around with it. I am using the wiki feature to create an expansive and detailed world in which to run my D&D adventures.

I would like some ideas on how to develop this world and make it interesting without being gimmicky. I encourage you all to evaluate it and give your opinions. Even suggesting important events and characters. I'll constantly be working on it, so those of you interested in world building and storytelling can find a place to work together.

Here is link to the wiki:

It seems fine.

Just one note. Your god seems more chaotic evil than anything, seeing as how lawful evil values honor and tradition, and your god seems to enjoy tearing them apart.

At least it isn't like the third one, where everyone was chaotic for some reason.
