Plaguetile updated. Things liable to change lots of new stuff.
New tileset and colorscheme combo I'm calling the plague set.
Just started playing D for half an hour. Oh well. Can I copy the init from D and be fine playing E?
Just need to find a good way to capture my progress. If anyone has suggestions for how to take snapshots of the whole map I'm on I'd love to hear them cause doing it one screen shot at a time would be just about as crazy as the overall projectThat's easy. Just hit escape and select "Export Local Image". Then all you have to do is select the the z-levels you want screens of and then take the picture. They will be very large images and take up a considerable amount of room. I would suggest checking out the DF Map Archive. Download SL's DF Map Compressor and post your maps on the archive. It is very simple to do and saves you a lot of space.
So, the new version came out and for some reason only now I realised that the default Dwarf Fortress colors suck. That's because these are the same colors that Windows XP console colors uses by default. Back in 2006 I posted a fix for this on rec.games.roguelike.misc:Did you make this scheme yourself or is it one of the ones from the wiki. If it is from the wiki, which scheme is it? If it is not from the wiki, would you be able to put up a screen cap displaying the scheme so I can see what it looks like?

But wait, Dwarf Fortress doesn't use Windows XP console! Fortunately we can change the colors in init.txt:

I'm not sure about brown - it can't be too dark, and it shouldn't clash with dark red. This one looks more like orange than anything, but the intro movie looks really sweet.
Err... I don't get how to use the map-creator-thingy.Here are some links about world generation.
Mind elaborating? Or posting a link to a wiki-article/thread?
Noone deletes threads here I guess (exception can be made for flamewars/swearing threads).Good call; thank you. I was not aware of that feature. A lot of the other boards I am signed up with do not allow renaming.
I just wanted to remind you that feature, some users don't know about the ability to rename your own thread.
