Register there and use "Edit" function. Post your creation under others' works. There's a special "wiki syntax" but it's easy to understand if you look at something which is already present in "edit" mode.

[EDIT] Nevermind, I've added it.

Thank you for adding it to the wiki. I had just given in and made an account and was getting ready to add my tileset when I saw someone had added it already. Oh well. I Didn't really want to make a wiki account just to post that but what can you do?

P.S. Sorry for the duel threads. If someone wants to delete one of then feel free.

DF Modding / Hanuman's 12x12 curses tileset!
« on: July 20, 2008, 04:30:54 am »
This is basically the curses_800x600.bmp file converted to 12x12.  It may be slightly different but it is close enough for me. I hope you all enjoy.

Get the tileset here.

Here is the wiki page as well.

I'll try to make it now. It depends on avaliability of the photoshop on my 2nd work computer (I'm at work now and have nothing to do).

It's sad, you can't simply resize curses_square_16x16.bmp because it deforms symbols =(.
But why didn't you like this one from the wiki page the Sean had shown you?

Edit:Don't even worry about making it anymore. I figure out an easy way to make what I wanted and now it is done!

Thank you for pointing me to that tileset because I ended up using it as a base for mine and was able to fix it up just the way I wanted.

Get the tileset here ----->http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=318

Does anyone know how to post to the wiki? I would like it to be added to the sets for people that want to use it.

Well, as far as making one yourself goes, take the tileset's .bmp, load it into an image editor like Photoshop, or Paint Shop Pro, scale it down to whatever size you want (I personally play 12x12), clean it up a bit, then save, as a 24-bit bmp without compression.

Other than that, you can find the tilesets on this page. If you're running Explorer, right click on a tileset you like, select save picture, save as bmp. Then open the thing in paint, select Save As, choose 24-bit bmp from the file type dropdown, and save as that.

I appreciate the replay but I am not skilled enough with image editing to make one myself. I have already been looking for what I want on the wiki but nobody seems to have made one.

It should be relatively simple to make, I just do not have the skill. I am basically looking for a 12x12 version of the curses set. If anyone has the skill to make one and post it on the wiki or DF download site it would be wonderful.

What 12x12 tileset do you use by the way? I don't really like any of the ones I saw on the wiki but I wouldn't mind a recommendation.

DF Modding / A character set request.
« on: July 19, 2008, 11:52:54 pm »
Hello, all. I don't know if anyone has made one already but I am looking for a character set that is a square version of the curses_800x600.bmp. I know there is a 16x16 character set included with DF but I want one that I would be able to run in a window at a nice resolution without distortion. So far I have not been able to find one and would love if someone could point me to one or make one.

Thank you.

DF General Discussion / Re: Mon Xestsu, Wardpillars.

Cthulhu, if you are interested in the map I posted the seed for world generation along with the image of Mon Zestsu. I will update the world map to give a general indication of where I embarked.

Edit: DwarfMan69, search for color schemes in the DF wiki. I used the Natural scheme.

I have uploaded a map of the fortress (Wardpillars) I started recently. I am still playing in .38c at the moment. I am not ready to switch over to the new version yet.

I also have a map of the world (Mon Zestsu) the fort was built in (I have also included the seed). Take a look and let me know what you think.

I would love to here comments and suggestions for the fortress.
I am still rather new to DF.

Edit: Sorry, forgot the link before.

DF Bug Reports / Re: Megabeast Speach (Sort of bug)

Dragons should totally be able to talk.

I was going to ask how they would pronounce things given their weird oral structure, but I'm not sure even a human could pronounce "Stlidibishronkus"

I can. :)

What the hell is this? It's just so freaking awful. The original too. Where did this even come from?

Are you sure it isn't delirium tremens?
Hahaha! I don't know if that is something Toady has implemented into the game but that would defiantly be an interesting feature.

Just imagine, you start running out of booze and one of your dwarves begins to go through withdrawal. They are outside chopping wood and all of a sudden they come across a legendary pink elephant! They start freaking out about how valuable a pink elephant hide would be and decide to hunt it down. Alas, all of the attacks are futile and the elephant charges them. They go into a panic thinking they are going to be trampled by a pink elephant when in reality the dwarf is just going into a seizure.

Thanks, I don't know how I missed that. That's pretty cool.

Build a fort on a true island obviously.  No point, I just loved seeing that video and really wanted to try it.  I guess it could be used for a community game of some kind, though getting migrants would obviously be a problem.

I think I'm gonna be at this a while.  I am loving how random and organic the islands look now, even if they just won't skrink.
What video are you speaking of? I would like to get a look at it.

DF Suggestions / Re: Slightly smarter channeling
« on: July 18, 2008, 04:33:43 am »
I really love this request. Up until recently I didn't really understand how channeling worked exactly but am starting to get the hang of it. It would definitely be nice if channeling worked a little smoother without having to keep an eye on the dwarfs. I find that to be one of my main gripes about how it is implemented at the moment.

DF General Discussion / Re: ASCII art rewards
« on: July 18, 2008, 03:33:48 am »
I really enjoy reading these ASCII Art Rewards. I wish I had some money to donate so that I could receive one of my own. Until then I suppose I will have to keep an eye on this thread for more of other peoples rewards.

I am assuming the little one line of ASCII relates to what is going on in the stories correct? It's such a great idea. Too bad I am not 100% proficient in ASCII interpretation. I can get the general idea of how the stories relate to the ASCII but I get a little confused as to what some of the letters and symbols stand for.

Does anyone know if saves from 38c are compatible with this new version? I just started a new world the other day and I would love to be able to still use it.
