You check if the computer has some sort of voice recognition by ordering it to take a photograph of you. Nothing happens.

So you decide to try to gain access to the computer.

You touch the word "boot".




From a slit on the wall, a sheet of paper is printed.

It's super-effective, against all known life forms, pretty much. The syndrome is virtually useless, they freeze out of existence anyway.
Doesn't seem to work... I used the raws for water as the template, maybe that's why. Can you provide the SPECIAL_WATER_SPRAY_TEMPLATE?

Nevermind, I tinkered with it a little, lowered the temperatures and all, now it works. Thanks for the idea!

Played as Belgium, Great Britain stopped being allies with me for some reason and then Netherlands allied Prussia and declared on me (NL gets cores on all of Belgium for historical reasons). I couldn't stand up to one of the largest militaries in the world (Prussia)... maybe I should have deliberately stalled becoming a great power so I don't get removed from GB's sphere of influence so they save me from the Dutch.

If implemented, this should be moddable for the benefit of translation packs. Different languages use different number place separators.
How about in init.txt? [NUMBER_PLACE_SEPARATOR:<character code>] or something like that.

Are eusocial insects examples of communism in other species?
Somewhere in-between that and a hive mind, I'd say. They're not a true hive mind because every ant (for example) can think by itself, but it's not true communism because they're not all equals. I do wonder what a fully sentient eusocial species would be like.

Is it weird that I wouldn't want to live in a communist/anarchist "utopia" with no hierarchy and communal ownership?
I mean, same, but mostly because such a society would, for humans, quickly turn into a dictatorship.

I believe the plan is for Toady to keep working on DF until he dies.
And what happens after? Would development stop or will someone inherit?
I think it's been said somewhere that the code will be open-sourced if he peacefully passes away. Not sure where though...
