Yes, this bug keeps me from getting any legendary weapon-wielding dorfs. It's kinda bothering since they're very near awesomeness with their weapon skills and then *shding!* "Hail champion wrestler McUrist" and they go and drop their weapons never to pick it up again since they're the über wrestlers (like the other 20 military dudes).

Definitely a big frustration. Same goes for the fortress guards who go legendary all to quickly and pop arms and legs of others in no time.

I haven't taken the time to look into this very long thread so i may be repeating something already said:

House Rash should also give you the ability to zoom to a freshly slain corpse (ex: you don't need to scoll around the whole area looking for your hunter's corpse so that you can identify immediately his killer).

I think what he meant is that demons would try to bribe you for your soul (in exchange of wealth, youth etc...).

Corruption my friend... it lies within us all... (read the simmarillion for even the elves fail their duty of being good)

Greetings to you my fellow troglodytes,

Since demons will become megabeasts in the future versions and will be able to become goblin civ "god/leader" I was imagining that good aligned civs could also have a living megabeast deity of some kind.

Those could also participate in in-game wars, make fortress apparitions during a siege or give you "divine/holy" missions in adventure mod.

Is what i'm talking about making sense?

Didn't know what to do. They all starved during the first winter...

That was back in the 2d version. I just tried digging all the way to the "fun stuff" really fast. Had no idea it would be such a complex game.

Greetings fellow prospectors!

I'm trying to create some kind of magma-channel.

My question is simple: will constructed rock floors be melted by magma passing over them?

I know that a bridge, if built of non magma resistant material, will melt.

I would consider it like some kind of cheat if i could use normal stone floors but i'm actually in a catch-22. It would be my only way out in making this fort viable.

I once decided to build a overground glass fortress next to a volcano. Knowing sieges only "engage" once a cap of 50 or more dwarves arrive i developed a system to "purge" them into the magma vent. This considerably slowed my fortress advancement but reassured me that all would be well.

After 3 or 4 years everything was well organized and a small maze would greet all invasion force as well as a full magma tower ready to be spent on anyone coming near.
And so i begin letting the immigrants survive.
...
1 year
...
2 years
...
3 years and still no invasion force. Not even a thief.

My fort was like an emerald castle 167 dwarf strong but nobody ever, ever came apart from the traders.
"Alles für die Katz" as the Germans say.

Needless to say every-one ended on the drawbridge over the vent before I abandoned.

I can't imagine nobody asked for a tavern. It would make far more sense if somebody had the ability to manage the consumption of the precious brews (and its distribution via mugs (finally some use for that)) instead of having them in some random stockpile and having some twenty dwarves dipping their beards inside the barrel while going for a gulp.

Dwarven hygene is bad enough without having to drink beer from a filthy barrel.
