When your first attempt to settle an area with magna ends in Dwarven charcoal from fire imps coming out of the volcano.
When Marksdwarves are patrolling around their well fortified patrol route 3+ z-levels above the ground (with a roof to fend off the sun) and on spotting incoming goblins that are out of range decide to got out of said safety to engage the numerically superior goblins on the ground...
