Ninja man, it is. I think a proper ninja name is in order though, I'm thinking "Haru".

/scoff

The only proper ninja name is Dice.

So I picked this up on the steam sale with all the DLC. Anyone still play that wants to train up a newb? Any newb mistakes to avoid?

Good update, glad the team still remembers me!   :P

Biff looks surprisingly cool with those sunglasses.  And he even got in a kill!

The team remembers you. I wish AIM would forget though.

Biff is pretty funny. "They're all dead and I am still alive!"

I have considered handing him a machine gun and having him provide covering fire only, but even in that role machine guns kind of suck.

Mortars on the other hand... I can't wait to give someone a mortar.

Dark Messiah? I wonder if anyone ever plays that multi player any more. It was actually pretty fun back in the day. Probably worth 4 bucks... good over the top single player action too.

On the subject of disable elections...

I think it is time to lose. Three terms is a good long run, might as well go out with a bang.

Is Warlock: Master of the Arcane worth it? I enjoyed the Age of Wonders games but not so much Civ 5 (which I hear Warlock is heavily based off).  It's currently a "flash sale" for $6.79.

Dumb Question: Do we know what the badges do and if they'll be adding more?
I assuming it's one of those meta things that a whole bunch of websites use. Really just a way to show off e-penis.

Based on the demo, you're still better of just playing Master of Magic in spite of its age.

Warlock was a ton of fun. There were a few game breaking units but over all I really enjoyed it.

THIIIISSSSSSSSSS

I just picked up one of the Avernum games. Considering it for my next LP.

mimzanque

That's a new one, Mimzanque? Mozambique perhaps? You don't mess with Mozambique, they've got an AK-47 (with a bayonet) and a hoe on their flag.

I downloaded a National Flag quiz on my phone.  Mozambique is one of my favorites. Oman is kind of warrior like too. Barbados has a trident which I like.

I thought it was strange to put semi-modern firearm on your flag. There is a point between modern and historic where things look out of date. What will they do then?

Anyways, this is a fun LP, thanks for posting it.

Hehe, Steam hate.

I hate to derail a topic further, but I will state that the "offline bug" causes me more pain than others. I leave for weeks (ZERO access to internet or cell phones) at a time and bring my laptop. If I forget to shut down Steam-POW, almost no games to play. It is frustrating. It is a bug that needs to be fixed.

On the other hand:
I have lost/ruined hundreds of dollars in video game CDs. I can download any game I have ever bought off of steam.

When I installed games I was currently playing on my desktop onto my laptop, many retained my saves AND key configs.

I ruined my original Steam email account and then locked myself out of Steam. It was a straight forward process to get it all fixed again.

I think Greenlight will be cool. Honestly if I was able I'd probably re-buy Kerbal Space Program and Towns and pay for Dwarf Fortress and Gnomeira (or what ever) for the first time.

I remember when I was really young and EQ2 had just come out. I had watched the hype closely and was really excited for it. I bought the awesome retail box that folded out and showed tons of information about the game. My computer ended up being too sub-par, so the box just accumulated dust on my shelf. I never played it, but I've always had a slight interest in the game because of how excited I was earlier.

tr;dr,
I'll be happy to be reading discussion on the game  ;)

This statement really depressed me. You were really young when EQ2 came out? I am getting old.

EQ2 was my fourth MMO I think? Maybe 5th? Was it before or after Eve?

Anyways, I had a group of friends that played a lot of Dark Age of Camelot at the time and a little EQ1. We didn't make it very far in EQ 2, I am not completely sure why.

I think if suffered from being a sequel that changed too much. Very little about the game was familiar to long time EQ players. For instance, it used to be only monks had safe fall, and falling was very dangerous. In EQ2 it seemed like everyone had a spell or natural ability to lower fall damage.

It was also one of the first MMOs to really push instanced dungeons which I didn't think were executed very well. Some of my favorite EQ1 locations were now instances and as such had no players in them.

Finally I remember the classes in the game being a little odd. I played a Fury I think which was kind of a melee/healer hybrid. I always had mana but my abilities were always on cool down. It was backwards to most other MMOs (spam abilities until you run out of mana).

I wouldn't say it was terrible, but it captured none of the EQ1 flair.

DJ, did you bet someone a thousand bucks that Salem would succeed or something? Your arguments make absolutely no sense. You keep pushing your 'any skill system that MAKES FUCKING SENSE is bad because it allows bots' agenda while disregarding all opposition. You neatly skimmed over one of the best arguments expressed here:
When you can log in for 2 minutes a day and get a demigod fighter character, something might be wrong.
Because that is EXACTLY what happened in H&H and what is going to happen in Salem, because they didn't change anything.

It is a fact. One of your villagers can log on 2 minutes a day and become a demigod fighter. If you are willing to  search for or build twice as many curios.

Maybe that is what you want to do while your curios are cycling or maybe that is the best thing for the village. Either way you are gaining your max LP towards what ever job you want to specialize in while contributing to the village either in the way you enjoy most or in the way most needed.

The system is actually encouraging you to play more. Done collecting all your curois? Cool, collect some for the farmer. Curio closet full? Get some sticks for the baker. Chop down trees for security. Go fishing. Do what ever it is you enjoy in the game or better yet, what ever the village needs (it always needs something). Regardless of what you do it gives the same amount of LPs.

Now all this assumes you are in a village. If you are not than... well, you are kind of playing the game wrong. It is a team game.

This also assumes you enjoy something about the game. If you don't enjoy the game than you have no pursuits while your curios cycle and you should probably just delete it anyways.

I would take a beta key. I don't really have any intention of playing right now, but I'd like to see world 2 or 3.

Put Fikes "Booyah" Ambroski in please!

Are you playing with the keyboard? This game was before USB joystick/gamepad support.

I don't remember hardly anything about it. Good luck!

The update is almost done and is up to 35 screenies, but we have an issue. While playing through in my no-save scummy way, one of our own was gunned down with out any possibility to prevent it.

Generally speaking I consider this pretty cheap gameplay mechanics and feel fine save scumming over this stuff, but I wanted to post the question to you guys.

Do we lose another team member in a totally cheap strike or do we take a different approach and save scum?

I would like to second the thought that the mouse-menu system is frustrating. It should work that if you click on a menu item the sub menu won't go away when you move the mouse off the menu item (if that makes sense).

When I click something in a menu I almost always move directly to the sub-menu item I want. It sucks when that diagonal move closes my submenu.

I'd also like to see hot keys, that would be very helpful.
