If you're interested in mechanics discussions, you might want to add your thoughts here.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Farming soils?

If you just have rock, cover it with water. This will yield 'muddy rock' which IS suitable for farming. :)

So how's it work? ('m guessing you haven't solved a way to extract individual object details yet  :P )

Anyword from Toady? Since the last dev_now update it's been eerily quiet here. Where's our favourite toad?  :(

It's a good idea, but it's come up a million times before. It used to be that underground farms needed regular irrigation (that got lost in the move to 3d, but I'm pretty sure I remember a post saying Toady wanted to bring it back). More importantly though, it's already number 10 on the eternal suggestions voting list. That means, not only is Toady aware of it, but stuff will be done on it in the next couple of updates.

Adding things such as Soil Deprivation, watering of plants (or other irrigation), weeding, longer growing seasons, and the like in an attempt to make farming more interesting, a little more difficult (balance it out somewhat in the process), and make it more realistic.

General Discussion / Re: MSPA: Aimless Renegade

Does anyone notice that Aimless Renegade is the exact opposite of what his name would imply?

Really? He didn't hit a single target. I'd call that pretty aimless ;)

Melbournite by any chance? I wish it was inconsistent here in Perth. Just walked to the shops, am currently drenched in sweat. Also, the bitumen in the road was starting to melt. Oh well, least it aint humid.

John has hammerkind and umbrella kind strife-specibi. Grandfather (HE HASS THE FLAME) uses blunderbusses.
Jade has shown no proclivity for baking cookies. Nanna-sprite has failed to irradiate any steak for her hellish dog-beast.

Obviously, my conclusive study shows that the proposed relationship is 100% impossible.

I highly recommend roo. It is delicious, as long as it is cooked properly. I would also advise you don't ever go past medium when you cook it either (med-rare is best), as it has a tendancy to go tough (even with marinades).

Also, please stop with the talk of this delicious, delicious vegemite  :P. I'm getting a hankering for some and I don't have any bread in the house :(

Yes, I found that technique working well. Or just Pyro-Kite them :D

My method can probably be best described in the words of the War3 tauren chieftan; "Puff, puff, pass... that's the rule".

Set them on fire. Puff them once into the air, twice to get height, then pass them off to a sentry nest, enviromental drop, kritzed heavy, etc.

If there's nothing to throw them to, and there's no other enemies around, instead of passing, let em fall, flame again, and repeat.

Eh, we've all been there. I'm primarily a medic, and with a combination of an item that blocks healing and the [e] button, idiots have been on a huge rise lately :(

THEN DON'T WEAR THEM WHEN YOU'RE CHARGING THEM.

Whoah, caps attack. So, if I happen to run into a medic who needs to build  lot of uber in a short amount of time, and there's noone else around, I should run back to spawn and swap out?  :P

As it stood, they blocked rocket jump damage. Any other damage a soldier will inflict on himself will ideally be done for a reason.

In fact, it makes it easier to get your health to specific levels for the Equalizer.

This is actually a valid argument. As it currently stands, I can see the gunboats and the equaliser working quite well together.
