Okay, I think the hearing in my right ear has gotten to the point of being classified as "damaged".
Last summer I went to Vermont on a man trip with fellow mans to a cabin that was completely by itself. Naturally we did things like construction working, wood cutting, bear wrestling and the like. I fired a 20mm rifle a bit and other things happened. Now I was protected my ears from the guns, there was this incident that happened on one of the later days. That would be cheap "Chinese" fireworks. The one were half of them are defective. My grandfather brought them out, there was five or so of them. They were the "plug into the ground and let them shoot 3 deafening explosion into the air (can you see where we're going) before running out. On the third one my grandfather went all macho and held the firework in his hand and aimed it into the air and let it fire. That worked perfectly.
...He let me try it.
I held it up (thank god it wasn't that close to me) with my right arm and aim it skyward.
All three exploded within two feet of me.
Naturally after my head shook from the explosion I dropped that shit and ran away from the cause of pain. Well I can't say that because it wasn't actually that painful at all. It was like a war film, everything was completely silent besides the ringing. After about two minutes everything was back to normal.
Skip to present time now. After a year I'm starting to have problems. My left ear is perfectly fine working ear and everything, nothing wrong with it. My right ear...on good days it's just like my left ear. On bad days everything sounds like a fish bowl with periodic ringing.
Question time, how come my hearing is starting to act up after such a delayed reaction? Is my right ear ever going to go back to normal or is there going to have to be medical procedures. Ride it out or what?
