Sounds fun. I'm curious what kind of variety there could be in games of this size, unless more people are willing to join. Multiple games in a row would at least extend the length of a small player pool.

I'm still game. I think I have an idea how you'd make seven players work.
In the meantime I should probably cancel U, Robot 3 since there isn't enough interest.

I want to play games. Amusingly, I have more free time at work than I ever did taking classes at school.
If more players would sign up for games we could play. We currently have an active roster of like...five or six players.

Game 2 here (D4 human victory)

You are a human. You win when all robots are dead. You lose if you or the other human die.
3-5 Robots:
Quote from: Robot role pm
You are a robot. You win when one human is dead. You may not vote for a human at any time. You may communicate with your fellow robots [here - replace with quicktopic link].
Rules:
Please read and understand all these rules. Let me know if there is any way I can clarify them.
- At any point, a player may vote for another player by putting their name in red and bold. This immediately kills them and ends the day. When this happens, no players may post until the next day starts.
- Robots may never vote for humans.
- If a human is killed, the game is over and the robots win.
- If a robot is killed, a new day starts, unless all robots are dead in which case the game is over and the humans win.
- Dead robots may no longer communicate in scumchat.
- Days last 72 hours. If no votes are cast in 72 hours, the game is over and the robots win. Day change will probably happen at 9:00 pm PDT, but I may change this.
- This game is self-moderating; webadict's MaMoBo will be sending out the role pm's so that I can play. See the self-moderation guide for details about how to moderate as we play.

1) The defeatist attitude worked though. I didn't want to vote MWil23 over Jeekaka when they said they would self hammer. Mango had self voted earlier and I can only think of town ever selfvoting in the games I have played. Beyond that MWil23 was townread by most players up until that point which is incredibly desirable as mafia.
2) Yes even if Okosan wasn't PR I felt really good about them after D1. I made it clear I didn't think they were mafia if Axol was mafia, and Axol was mafia so. On D2 and D3 it only made sense if Okosan was partners with Holy, but that became very unlikely with the claim. Although I was really liking Okosan's D3 posts before the claim anyway. The only thing I didn't like was them trying to unvote Chiken at the end of D4 out of paranoia.

@Jack:
That's a good point. The MD confusion did make Lunatic (correctly) read as town which helped the PoE.
Oh right I might as well share my votes too.
I voted Levi, ZFR, Mwil23, and Okosan as my top four. After talking with Webadict I regret not voting Marl too, but I'm not sure who I would replace out. I thought Levi and Okosan were the best living town, while Vandy and ZFR were also good town but died early. MWil23 was definitely the strongest mafia out of the three, with few people suspecting him and also surviving the longest so I think that's a fair take. The big down fall of MWil23 was their association with Chiken which was only exacerbated by D3.

Since I've been thinking about it, I can leave some thoughts I had about my play as well as some questions towards Magma/Urist.
@Magma:
I didn't read every post in G2, but you were the N1 kill and from what I heard you spent D1 copy-pasting posts from a previous champs winner right? Did the mafia nightkill you aware of the fact you were memeposting? Also, did your memeposts have actual consideration put into them? On a side note, soaking the mafia kill on N1 as a Vanilla Townie using copy-paste is fucking hilarious. I'm a fan of dumb gimmicks, but I'm not sure I would rate them highly in the long run.
Now, some criticisms I have about my play from future me:
1. Claiming PR unpressured might have been a misplay, especially as Doctor. First, if my town read of Levi was incorrect I would probably have handed them the game there. Second, if the MD (Okosan) wasn't alive still the POE would have been harder and less winnable. I may have been the N3 kill, but I also may have been able to utilize the Doctor PR more if I stayed quiet.
2. My actual scumhunting was below my standards. I didn't find any scum in my game, only players I felt I could trust. Because of this fact I was able to identify who scum most likely were. I would have always voted MWil23 and Chiken after seeing Jeekaka flip town (I made this clear in the spectator chat immediately after dying), but was not alive to do so. The important part is I had no strong reasons for why I suspected MWil23 and especially Chiken and overly relied on Okosan and Levi's own scumhunting to support me.
3. I didn't trust Holy and Jeekaka enough. I had a winning POE on D3, but my dislike of Holy/Jeekaka (even though I reconsidered voting MWil23 instead) made me ultimately not reconsider MWil23/Chiken. The end result didn't actually matter here since we had the days to spare, but I still made a final decision that made the game last an extra day. Having a winning flowchart is less valuable than just hitting the actual mafia in the first place. On review I would rate Jeekaka's play as better than Holy's, it was foolish to distrust Jeekaka more than Holy.

I believe real consideration is made and I don't envy ranking about 130 players, however I don't understand the metrics the players value beyond the public statement:
For example, accuracy of reads seems to be valued. Relm, a player that appeared to be well liked and was killed early on in their game, had all three mafia in their top town reads and I think that has to be the main reason they weren't considered. This shows at least that it is not simply a "popularity contest", or at least, not for everyone. It's difficult to infer and unlike the in-game votes there are no numbers to even look at.

Hi everyone. We're the jury.
We'll keep this brief. Over the last few months we have followed live, reviewed, discussed, reviewed again, debated, and reviewed again again the ten qualifier games for Season 8. We believe that we have produced an array of advancements and possible substitutions that is a fair reflection of the performances we observed. Let it be known that these choices were not easy at all, and that a great many candidates warranted our consideration even among those who will not be named today. Ours is a jury of a very diverse array of strategies, philosophies, and preferences for Mafia gameplay, and that means no single element of play dictated our selections. We believe the players we have selected all showed us *something*: that is, they displayed some concrete talent for Mafia play that we believe would promote winning games the most consistently. Those talents are numerous and not always directly related.
Those who are named today to advance or serve as a substitute: congratulations and well done. Those who are not named: please hold your head high and know that these were all difficult choices. Take pride that your community selected you and you alone to be their champion this season. You've already proven much.
Thanks to the organizers, players, and spectators for making this another competitive, enriched, and enjoyable tournament experience. We're looking forward to the semifinals and the finale.
Hype. You can tell we're excited because we said "hype". Hype.

No way.
What a plot twist. The Urist name makes it so obvious now in hindsight.
Here are some of my personal observations:
1. Most of the games were dominated by mafia performances, with two or three mafia alive for game end. I wasn't impressed by a lot of townplay but there were some players I liked. I would have valued town players that mafia were scared of the most here (besides just being PR). After considering the mafia themselves of course, since they did win most games.
2. Only two games had a town win, Game 1 and Game 2. I'm fine with the Game 2 picks, but I'm disappointed in the lack of town representation from Game 1, which had the strongest town win in qualifiers with a lot of town players showing strong reasoning skills: Marl, Jeekaka, ZFR, and KoD.
EDIT:
I want to illustrate this out a bit more.
3. Game 5 was a mafia sweep, a complete crush that had two well playing - but highly linked together - scum, Pawn and JPIC. The third mafia was Toganim and personally they were the hardest mafia for me to identify. Pawn and Cuthalion (a town player who was killed early) were voted by the in-game players to advance to Semis, which is fine. You could argue Pawn was the best mafia and Cuth was the best town so seems fair enough.
Now for the jury advances they decide on Chris, JPIC, Gorf, and Silver. That's JPIC and three more town players that go straight to Semis. I won't single out any of the town players, but I think advancements here should have been JPIC and one or maybe two more town at most. I do agree with at least two of the town choices here, but I am surprised how many town players were chosen to directly advance here from what I read of the game.
Moving on, for subs four out of nine of the players were more players from Game 5: c4e5g3d5, Hornet, SuperJack, and Toganim. Again, I agree with the Toganim choice as personally I would have rated them the highest of the three mafia in that game, but even more town from Game 5 as subs? I don't understand the processing here, it was a curb stomp game. I understand the jury want to judge players on how likely they think they could win games from skillful play, correct? While it's true you could have strong town players in a mafia curb stomp, I would not have seven town players as advancement names in a game that was entirely controlled by the three mafia.
