The fact is:
Spies will always PASS a team that has one spy on it (two spies for Mission 4).
Spies will either PASS or FAIL a team that has no spies or too many spies.
I believe it's more likely for spies to PASS a team that has too many spies than a team that has no spies, but they could go either way. On the other hand, there is no universe where spies pass a team that has no spies on it, it's suicide to their wincon.
I said this kind of funky.

I believe it's more likely for spies to PASS a team that has too many spies over a team that has no spies, but they could do either honestly. On the other hand, there is no universe where spies don't PASS a team that has only one spy on it (two spies for M4), it's suicide to their wincon.

Uh, has Tric ever been scum before?
Yes. Vengeful 13 and CYOM4.

He didn't do very well.

You were in CYOM4 so it's odd to ask this.

That's why I find it a red flag - you want this to go through - makes sense, you set the team, but telling people they're scum if they refuse makes me feel like you'd rather not shuffle teams up again - Town has no reason for that D1. Spies do - if they've got a good bit, or- have a good person to blame once they fail the mission, maybe a perfect setup? Or maybe they just don't want to risk the next person picking all town.
My team doesn't have spies on it though, because I'm the Commander. I'm perfectly justified calling people out for voting FAIL.

I'm giving you a chance to prove yourself here. FoU has already given up by voting FAIL for a Mission 1 team they're on. TricMagic is incapable of reading.

ToonyMan, why on earth are you looking for the Bodyguard or the Commander? Only Spies want to find them.
I'm trying to make the spies' lives harder.

Claiming the Commander has also encouraged some other players to claim the Commander, which is great. You should try it.

@Webadict:
Care to share what this obvious towntell is for TricMagic and why they aren't town in this game?

3754
Fail. We have no need to do a mission right away, and the mission that takes two spies to fail it would be a good place to earn a point.
You voted FAIL without understanding how the game works...

FAIL. Of course I'd be happy to have myself on the mission roster like the good loyal rebel I am, but I want to get more info out of this day.
Why are you failing a mission both me and you are on? Do you think Blue is a spy then?
To answer the question, I'd rather see a few other plans posted and voted on to provide us with more information from this phase. I don't know enough about Blue this game to make a judgement yet. If it was a later mission then I'd probably vote to pass that plan, but it was the very first pick.
And then what? "I'd rather see a few other plans posted" is an excuse. You either have more information than the rest of us, or you're making a bad kneejerk choice.

I just put you on a Mission 1 team, if you're town then you'd know the chances of us passing this mission with no spy sabotages is significantly higher than if you aren't town. Voting FAIL on a Mission 1 team you're on makes no sense.

How do we get a better idea if Blue is a spy when people on board the mission aren't even passing it?

Also - this is a huge red flag to me too. Toony - people can and SHOULD fail you. The information gained is worth it - calling people spies for doing so is pretty scummy to me.
What?? When does a team get passed then?? You're on this team too??

A team that passes has significantly more value than a team that doesn't pass. Vote analysis on a team that fails has little value compared to a team that is voted to pass, does this make sense? People's reasonings for voting PASS or FAIL are more important for a team that actually goes out on the mission, whether or not the mission succeeds or not.

If we can't even pass a Mission 1 team then we've already lost.

3755
Oh I get to vote too?

PASS

Proper post in a bit...

3756
Toony, you idiot. Most WIFOMy play ever. You realize that if we agree you're telling the truth, the spies can just shoot you, right?
Go ahead.

FAIL. Of course I'd be happy to have myself on the mission roster like the good loyal rebel I am, but I want to get more info out of this day.

Yo, Toony, I'm the Commander, you should've put me on the team, wtf man?
Sorry man, I wanted to see how FoU would react getting put on the team.

I'm gonna defend EuchreJack as DEFINITELY A REBEL. They should be put on literally every mission. They're like Luckyowl but without the incomprehensible garbage. This is not a joke. They should literally always be put on every mission. Is that a thing that can happen? I'm actually not very familiar with this game, I should probably read the rules, but I'm too busy posting.
I agree with this.

I'm gonna say FallacyofUrist is DEFINITELY A SPY. They should never be put on any mission ever. Why you put them on this mission is beyond me. You should know better than that.
Why PASS the mission then?

I will postulate one last point: If this Mission fails, it is because ToonyMan is A REBEL. ToonyMan would be the silliest person to fail this Mission.
If this Mission doesn't fail... then ToonyMan might be a Spy.
Hehe.

3757
Dude, stop pretending not to be Spy.  Guess it's time for me to role claim.
Role: Rebel.  Vanilla Rebel if you prefer.  I'm no Commander, no Bodyguard, no Spy.
Insinuating that I'm a Spy reinforces my belief that you're a spy.  Lame attempts at roleplay are a bad idea right now.  Accurate information benefits the Rebels, inaccurate info benefits the Spies.
You're not a spy Euchre, this much I'm sure.

Also, any REAL Commander wants his team to be failed, because this conveys to the Bodyguard who is not spies, without revealing that they are the Commander.  You are a fake, most likely Spy trying to draw out the real Commander.
...I see.

You're implying that you are the Commander instead and not me.

I see, I see. You're the Bodyguard, aren't you?

3758
FAIL
*looks at Commander notes*

Uh huh, just what I expected from you.

Why should a Mission 1 team be failed? Especially one from me?

3759
Greetings everyone.

I'm the Commander.

This is the team we're going with:
ToonyMan
BluarianKnight
FallacyofUrist

Anybody who FAILs my team is a spy.

That is all.

PPE:
FallacyofUrist and webadict are perma scum and shouldn't go on the first mission.
Why?

Also the Bodyguard can confirm me if they want.

Mafia / Re: Who are the Gnosia? [6/up to 15]
« on: April 10, 2021, 10:39:30 am »
I better be Gnosia. Have to redeem my mafia playing.
I hope you're good at fake-claiming then. I think fake-claiming is critical to mafia's success here, night ability-wise.

A full setup looks like this:

Town
Crewmate - vanilla townie
Engineer - cop
Coroner - forensics cop/mortician
Guardian Angel - doctor
Guard Duty - masons

Mafia
Gnosia - vanilla mafioso

Mafia-Ally
AC Follower - vanilla mafioso-ally

Pseudo-SK Survivor
Bug - immune to mafia kill, dies to cop inspection

If mafia don't fake-claim or counter-claim town roles as they come up, then I think they will end up cornered and be eliminated swiftly.

It's up to town when they should decide to claim, but if mafia fake-claim their role first they need to counter-claim or it's going to cause massive headaches in the long run.

There's no trackers or redirectors, so anybody you target will be exactly who you target and nobody can confirm you really have. There's rare exceptions, for example if the Engineer inspects the Bug then the Bug will die and the Engineer will get back human as a result. If the Gnosia kill someone else and they aren't protected by the Guardian then you'll end up with two deaths at night, which is only possible if one of the dead players is the Bug. A fake-claiming Engineer would need to say they also inspected one of the dead players that night and got a human result to look legitimate.

Also, as an interesting but very unlikely scenario: If the Bug is protected by the Guardian and the Engineer inspects the Bug, the Bug still dies.

Sure. I'm also gonna claim it if I don't have it, so, ya know.
Shhhhhh *wink wink*

On that note, anybody caught winking in game I'm not allowing on my team.

What are the odds that I find the Commander on Day 1?
41.47%
Not sure how insulted to be by this answer.
I would be insulted.

Pinky promise swear to claim Commander on Day 1 if either of us get it?

Going first is an advantage. I almost was never allowed to build a team last time I played because the spies had sabotaged the first two missions. If the third mission was a failure too I never would have went. Going first means I get to elect myself which narrows my remaining choices and increases my chances of success regardless of my alignment.

Re: Spies laying low if more than one gets on the team
Spies can't communicate in private so they'd have to publicly signal each other or all sabotage the mission. The number of sabotages for a mission is told to everyone so spies put themselves in an awful spot if more than one sabotage happens. Ideally a mission only contains the minimum number of spies to sabotage, if you're a spy that is.
