I can play. In.

Going to switch my avatar from Secret Game to Raging Loop since one of these has been translated and the other has not.

I played Killer Queen, and I hated it. Is Secret Game better?
Heh yeah Killer Queen is dumb even though I still enjoyed it at the time.

Secret Game is a remake of Killer Queen and it's still not that great, but after that they made a prequel to Secret Game called Code Revise, which I think is actually pretty good, and then after that they rewrote Code Revise and called it Rebellions which I personally think is the strongest title in the series. The problem with the previous VNs is that the director was really bad at writing, but for Rebellions they hired the writing team that did Root Double to "fix" Code Revise. It's more Battle Royale than mafia/werewolf compared to Raging Loop but whatever. I do strongly recommend Raging Loop if you somehow survived Killer Queen.

I'm not sure if Lemnisca has any plans on working on the rest of the Secret Game series after going legit but it would be neat.

I couldn't believe until I went on the website.

I can't believe Viz Media own this now and that the mspaintadventures domain is dead. Any bets on what it'll look like in another 10 years? I'll probably be here.

Nurse Hitomi's Monster Infirmary has a bunch of animal girls, among other things. I just caught up with the Seven Seas publications today.

EDIT:

Hi gang, sorry I disappeared off the face of the planet. I got a bit burned out on mafia and I'd managed to create a mammoth task of busy-work with the last game I was running-- then I felt bad for leaving before properly tying it off.

How's it all going? Anything new? I got really busy! I help run a bookshop now and I've got a game being published with Choice of Games in July.

I'm still really fond of mafia and can remember great moments in many of the games. In practice I think the way most of them are structured is too much commitment for too little pay-off.
I feel like if I ever made a game it would be in a CYOA style. I wasn't even aware these Choice of Games...games even existed.

I'm always interested in interactive fiction works so let's see what the future holds.

By the way, @ToonyMan: the team that did Investigations (Takeshi Yamazaki's team) did make Spirit of Justice. They've been responsible for everything after and including Investigations 1, barring Versus Layton and DGS (both of which were projects by Shu Takumi, the series' creator.)
Oh really? I knew Investigations 1&2 and the main Ace Attorney (AA5/AA6) stuff weren't directed by Shu Takumi, but I didn't know they were the same teams. I preferred their spin-off style 2D games.

I'm interested in DGS simply because it's the only one I haven't played.

I finally got around to finishing Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice, and Bravely Second.

I thought the last case in AA was fun, and I was acing it until it got into what I affectionately remember from the older games as 'tin foil hat conspiracy theory' level of crime logic. I did like how a clue to solving the case involved staring at women's cleavage. I then played the DLC case and was sorely disappointed by how puny and inadequate it was.
I think overall AA6 was better than AA5, but the charm and writing of the first three games is still better. I really wish the team that did the Investigations games would come back. I thoroughly enjoyed Investigations 2 more than AA5 and AA6 combined.

AA6 had a stronger main plot and characters than AA5, however I think the episodic cases were weaker. I also found the final big twist in AA6 to be way more impactful than the one in AA5.

Both game's DLC cases are decent at best, although still fairly mediocre when you think back on them.

While I'm in here, any new series worth watching at the moment? I finished rewatching Full Metal Alchemist and for the live of me, I could not find something else to watch.
Dangan Ronpa just finished. Season 3 kind of had the same problem as the Star Wars Prequels, but Kodaka knows how to cut his losses at least; it's done. No 70 gorrillion episode anime for us.
Also as an important guide:

Don't watch the DR1 anime adaption.

Don't watch the DR3 anime until after playing the two main games. There's some Ultra Despair Girl stuff too, but UDG is awful so you can skip that game.

The actual DR3 game will be a completely separate setting so it's okay to watch the anime for some more closure of the original setting.

EDIT:
The order you watch the DR3 show in is Future 1 -> Despair 1 -> Future 2 -> Despair 2 -> etc.

mwah, hxh has an arc that is genuinely very good somewhere around episode 40(?) or so.
But after that awesome arc there is an extremely meh arc and after that meh arc is an arc that is just plain silly.

I heard that hxh is supposed to be a good show, is it some kind of giant in joke?
I like it.

All the characters are one dimensional, the plot makes no sense and actively contradicts itself, the writing intentionally works against having any kind of suspense and then there's the extremely slow pace,
Slow paced compared to other battle shounens that span hundreds of episodes?

im watching it at 1.5x speed 24 episodes in and it still feels slow. Does it get good later or something?

I feel obligated to mention that YU-NO is one of if not the single best translated visual novel. It's getting a remake release mid-November.
The epilogue spends too long establishing itself before rushing the ending. I didn't find it very satisfying.

On the other hand, the first like 40 hours are pretty good when it's an actual adventure game with divergences and puzzles. Pretty much each "route" had at least one good scene.
