I'm pretty sure Dangan Ronpa 3 will just be Metal Gear Solid.

Anyone have any recommendations for similar games? I've heard Phoenix Wright may be a good place to head next?
Ace Attorney is great. There's like five main games and three spin-offs. The sixth main game just came out in Japan last month.
I think you mean Six main games, Ace Attorney VS Prof Layton is 100% canon I don't care what anyone says.
I liked the Investigation games more than some of the main games. And those are actually canon.

Super Dangan Ronpa 2 is also great, it improves so much on the first. I believe DR3 is being made? A spin-off also came out recently.

Another good handheld series: Zero Escape. The third game is confirmed.

Handheld adventure games are the best.

There's also the circumstance in Jojo where Dio, the big bad, was depicted as being faceless so often that the 90's era fighting game had both Dio and Faceless Dio as their own separate characters.
Haha

Also, the supernatural stuff takes a lot more of a center stage than any of their other things I've seen or read.
but did the image of crucified christ flash in your mind

Visual Novel: Rewrite. Get it, somehow, anyhow. Do NOT spoil yourself. If anyone else here has played it, you'd know why.
Rewrite and Angel Beats are the only Key things I've enjoyed some stuff about.

BTW has the author finished the bout with Washizu yet?
The match has been going, in the same room, for 14 years.

I rewatched Akagi when I was reminded of it by Neon talking about it a while ago. I understand Mahjong even less than I did when I watched it the first time through, but that doesn't stop me at all from enjoying Akagi's super Sue-ness.
Spoiler: shikashi (click to show/hide)

JAM Project is doing the opening for One Punch Man yessssssssss
hell

yes

Surely there must be someone amongst you who is able to give a recommendation.

I just finished watch PSYCHO-PASS and I was very impressed.

Spoiler: Actual spoilers (click to show/hide)

Is the second season worth bothering with? I heard it was written by different people. Also, are there any other animes (or any other kind of show, really) that have the following features?

- Not too long
- An exploration of an intriguing idea or deep theme
- Multi-faceted characters that could be real human beings
- A series-arc where things tie together (i.e. strong structure, minimal filler)

I felt Death Note came close, but the bottom fell out of it half-way through. Baccanno! has completely ridiculous characters, but they're uniquely characterised and they have interesting motivations, and the mysteries of the setting carry it forward. I've been enjoying Mushishi, but in general I prefer something with a metaplot. I was liking the original Full Metal Alchemist, so I should probably return to that at some point.
I haven't watched the second season of P-P, because I heard it was bad, and it's a new staff and everything.

Nothing I can think of satisfies your condition of being not too long.

The best anime is Legend of the Galactic Heroes, however the main series is like 110 episodes. There's shorter stuff, like the new-ish Yamato remake, Space Battleship Yamato 2199, but it's not super in-depth.

You may like Ultimate Survivor Kaiji if you liked Death Note. In fact, I think Kaiji is Fukumoto's best work.

If you liked the original FMA, that probably means you like good battle shounens.

I would recommend FMA: Brotherhood, just because it's more FMA and also very good.

As for other more recent battle shounens, the obvious answers are Hunter X Hunter (2011) and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

I can almost guarantee that One Punch-Man will be very good, but it won't air until this Fall.

Teneb, deadchat link?
No
Holy shit this is better than the actual game.

sorry guys i wasnt actually town either
What were you then?
I did some random stuff the first day because I didn't know how I was going to play.

When mafia players kept getting lynched I decided to just be town-aligned, but I was more of a survivor with a town-ish wincon.

Quote
You are Battle Royale (sk/survivor). Let me explain... You only win when all anti-Town elements are eliminated and you are alive. You will receive your weapon in a bit.

ToonyMan - Battle Royale
And may the odds be ever... wait that's not right.

(Auto) (42) Participants: You revive (42) times. This number is reduced by half, rounded down, at the end of each Night if you have not died during this Night. This reduction can not bring this number below one.
(Auto) Weapons: At the beginning of each Day, you are given a random weapon.
(Night) Tracker [target]: You see who the target actioned. If they action you, you block them, as well.
