Watching Ashita no Joe.  Definitely different from Ippo.  As far as boxing protagonists go, Joe's a right asshole, Danpei giving him the beatdown of a lifetime in episode 5 was nothing short of cathartic.
Tomorrow's Joe, the series about brain damage and sometimes boxing. I followed Hox's translation of the manga last year.

I read this article after I finished the manga. I don't know how the anime works though. I would avoid reading this until you finish the best fight in the series, you'll know the one.

So far this season Death Parade has been the only show worth talking about, and yet everyone ignores it to go watch pandering bullshit instead; the only times I've seen people even mention it around the internet has been either "it's okay" or "it's pretentious". I guess average people really can't hold interest in things if explosions aren't going off constantly or if the show actually wants you to form your own opinion about how you feel about something, instead of just TELLING you how you are supposed to feel.
Death Parade is good.

Dunno if it counts as anime, but I just binge watched all of season 3 of Legend of Korra. I feel like that series as a whole is an improvement in every way to AtLA, except for maybe the fact that in Last Airbender there was more of an overarching villain, whereas in Korra they just sort of bring in a new one each season.
Season 3 was on par with TLA, seasons 1 and 4 were not, and 2 was terrible in my opinion.
I miss Avatar. I didn't like the first season of Korra at all.

I often feel like I am the only person that finds the current season of JoJo just... terrible.
It still has good moments, but so much cringeworthy "humor", rapid fire, back to back. Please somebody tell me it gets better.
Maybe you need to join a group watch session to improve the experience more. It'll be like you're part of your own adventure group.

I will agree that the previous arc with the

I'd say check out the OVA, but the current season is actually super faithful to the source material. So yeah, this is it buddy, you're living the dream.

Personally when the subject of 'cool' comes around, I'm thrown under a blanket of nostalgia for the old days.
I miss those times, when Toonyman was immature enough to be hilarious, but not so immature as to be obnoxious, and WD, Janet, Jackrabbit and Duke ran rampant with it. Any forum topic could spontaneously turn into a dragon slaying RP or something, and there was few enough people that everyone got into it and went along with it. It was less like a forum and more like a clubhouse, with every member getting their profile picture done by Vester, and the whole thing grumpily governed by Aqizzar.
I unfortunately only really 'got big into' the lower boards towards the end of those times, so I mostly watched, annoyed the blazing hell out of everyone and argued passionately with Neruz over Everything, but them were still rather nice days, and if I'm completely honest I reflect on them with more aching sadness and regret than I do my meatspace childhood.

Edit: Thinking on it, I'm assuming a bunch of the old guard would probably have varying reactions to being reminded of those days, but... eh.. it made me sad today.
If it's any consideration, I check the Bay12 forum almost daily by sheer habit. However, I also have almost nothing to say, nor the time to say it. I'm assuming that my life won't slow down for at least a decade, if I don't stop myself. This is being a young adult now...

OH YEAH
Remember that bandwagon tracking post I did D1?  Look again at the name list, and keep in mind that Flabort was a bit of a stretch as an inclusion.
We all know your scum tell of bussing, but I didn't think you would accuse your entire team. You were the only player I had pegged as scum in dead chat by the late game. I jokingly called UXLZ a scum medium, but deep down I didn't want it to be true.

I have nothing good to say about this game except that I believed in Jim and:

Started following this game at the very end. The part where nobody followed Jim's plan because "somebody might die if we do" was pretty infuriating and should probably have resulted in murdered scum.
This.

http://www.guidetojapanese.org/learn/grammar

I'd use this if I can actually motivate myself to learn. Actually, I'm having problems motivating myself to do productive things because I feel useless.
Is that the grammar guide I've been reading lately? Yes it is.

Everybody should at least read Chapters 3 and 4 of Kim Tae's grammar guide, as they focus on the basic grammar as well as the bare essential grammar, and it really clears up a couple things that confused me for awhile. You shouldn't read the guide if Chapter 1 and 2 are not a complete cake-walk, however.

In terms of practice, I've been reading PC visual novels in their original language for the last few months now, let me explain (because I have nothing else meaningful to say):

1. Get ATLAS V14, this is optional, but the machine translation can sometimes point you in the right direction, never read the machine translation first. Also, don't use Google Translate, it's terrible.
2. Get Chiitrans Lite, this tool grabs the lines for you and separates words by alternating colors, if you highlight a word it will give you a definition. Extremely useful. Sometimes screws up, but you must have this software if you want any chance of even reading lines (if your kanji skills suck).
3. Find a visual novel that isn't terrible, and preferably not in English. Here is a list. I do not recommend the left-hand side of the list, even if the writing is easier.

Spoiler: example (click to show/hide)

4. Become a Nihongonese sensei.

They're making an anime out of Red Dragon. AKA the story created by having five japanese writers play an rpg dmmed by one of the guys who made Lodoss, where Kinoko Nasu plays a classic knight guy with an OP power with odd rules directing its use, and Gen Urobuchi plays a full on edgy assassin.
From what I saw of Red Dragon a few years ago it looked extremely silly.

I'm in. Who wouldn't want to see a D&D game with Nasu and Urobuchi as players.

Has anyone seen the music video for the Death Parade OP yet?
Because I think you should.
Yeah this is amazing.

Put CYOM3 into the queue. I'll be ready to run it after the currently queued games are done.
Oh boy oh boy

Finally I have 100% finished Legend of The Galactic Heroes; now for nothing to ever reach the same level.
It may be influenced by a lot of things (Foundation, Star Wars, ect), but it's a compelling narrative nonetheless.
I wonder if the remake will be good.

So. Saw the first few episodes of HunterxHunter (the new one, apparently). Definitely winning the award for darkest series compared to how dark it seems to admit to being; you've got people straight-up dying left and right, but nobody seems particularly concerned or perturbed about it.
The new Madhouse anime of Hunter x Hunter is great. I watched like 50-60 episodes over this winter break.

I really loved the first arc with the Hunter Exam. I think it kind of weakens after that, but then gets better again. At least where I'm at.
Spoiler: I am at (click to show/hide)

Basically, it's probably the best battle shounen I've seen in recent memory. Everybody watch the remake. It's kind of a battle shounen, but it feels a bit smarter and...darker.

And before anybody asks, Hisoka is amazing.
