That's true.Oh right, something I was thinking about at work today.Meh. Too much meta.
This is just a theory, but with the one-extension-per-player-only rule there can be some interesting meta.
For example, scum should not hold onto their extensions, this is because at the end of the game only a few people will have extensions, extensions help town for the most part. If there's two players left with extensions and only one is willing to extend, then that looks a lot more town. So to counter this the scum would probably want to extend as early as possible when it's much less useful and won't have the pressure of much needed extends towards the end.
Using a one-shot extension has the double benefit of looking town, because scum-meta is shut down conversations, end days on lynches, especially mis-lynches, because they don't care who the town hangs.
Have another glass of wine. I hear the poison is weaker the higher the dose.
Toony: Why were you absent, anyway? I recount the day's votes and...it has been more calm than not, from you. Pretty inactive today.I couldn't post yesterday because I'm actually moving into my first apartment ever tomorrow, yeah. I've been more busy than usual recently.
Anything up, there?
Toony: What would you have done when Pufferfish would say that he didn't do anything? His response should have been within 24 hours, and if he said anything fishy I would have turned it into a lynch vote. Because he was gone though a lot of people started feeling anticipation for it and I didn't really feel like backing down until he got replaced.
There's most likely no SK if Persus died because he's a hider and not because he was killed normally. I address the other points in the reply to Native and I have already unvoted Puffer for the time being because we can't get anywhere if they're not here.@Superblackcat:Why, precisely? And what specifically makes you more positive there's no SK this game? At what point will you be willing to share this secret discovery? I mean, if it's evidence he's scum, then out with it, let's hear the case. Meta, maybe, but I'll refer to where Max White replaced out of Paranormal 23, and turned out to be the last scum. Or are you wanting to wait until he returns/replaces because you're less than certain, yet certain enough to pressure vote?Toony: Mind sharing? Not yet, I'm also more positive that there is no SK this game but we can get to that.
It's true. I've addressed this, but to further along this thought if Urist Imik is town then the scum can still do exactly what you are supposing ZU would do towards IG. The vengeful kill didn't help town at all this time either.Zombie Urist was the obvious scum kill because he thought of Caz as a strong town right before day end.How does that make him the obvious scum kill? He had a different suspect in mind, Imperial Guardsman. Just spit-balling here, but given he was apparently convinced that Caz was Town, if I'd been scum, I'd have left him alive and allowed him to start a mislynch train on a Caz voter. So clearly, we think differently, and I'd like to understand your reasoning here.
It's muscle memory. Whenever I type [color= I subconsciously start doing 'red', what if DarkStar just FoSs people more than I do? It's not a lynch-worthy vote for me.@Tiruin:No. Just... no. What's suspicious about typing color=blue instead of color=red, you mean? Aside from the facts that red and blue are different words of different lengths and different meanings that start, progress through, and end on, different parts of the keyboard? <sarcasm>I mean, sure, they both have an "r" and an "e", so I can see how that could be mixed up.</sarcasm>
Okay, let me go about this a different way. I don't understand your case on DarkStar here. You only seem to be voting DarkStar because he's voting UI and your other comments are about him using the wrong bbcode on Day 1, what's suspicious about saying color=blue instead of color=red and then correcting it?
Or perhaps you mean how easy it is to slip in the pulldown "Change Color" menu and skip overI don't use that menu, but it's more damning if DarkStar does. I don't think it's worth asking now at this point since he can lie if he's scum or hurt himself if he's really town.to the nextfive intervening menu entries to get blue instead of red?
You seem rather interested in defending TheDarkStar, ToonyMan. Covering, perhaps?Finding the truth.
They could be town, mafia, or an SK possibly, and with Persus flipping hider he probably died from hiding behind anti-town, but that could explain another kill as well. It's very vexing. This matter would have been settled quickly if Pufferfish was actually here, so hopefully the scientist that is on fire can replace in.But let me just say now that I'm only more sure there isn't an SK and I am not certain Pufferfish is necessarily mafia. Because he isn't here though I can't be wasting my vote unfortunately. So Unvote for now I'll be back later today. If you're not sure whether or not Pufferfish is mafia, could you clarify what you think they might be? Maybe tell us what he did at night?
TDS. Much Defensive. Is that it? Have other thoughts or concerns?
Wow.
You do a good job, of doing a bad job.
Why is it the obvious scum kill? How was he a strong town read? Perhaps it was only a strong read for you? (Actually I share the read on Caz but still. Opinions Opinions. I wish to know more about your thoughts Toony.)"Why is it the obvious scum kill."
I don't think Caz is the correct lynch for today. He's been very active and I don't really think he's scummy. If anybody were to say that, that would make them an easy choice to kill since this quote gives townie points. It is the obvious scum kill.
I can't even see how it links to UI at all.Because I was accusing you of being UI's buddy, his scum partner, remember? You sort of laughed it off.
Toony: Mind sharing? Not yet, I'm also more positive that there is no SK this game but we can get to that.
ToonyAlright, you lead a solid case on Caz (which I can agree with), but it's wrong. Even I was fooled, but why start your next day post immediately with a DarkStar vote instead of myself or Makeinu? Unfortunately, I can't draw a comparison with IG (since Caz shot him...) whose vote on Caz was by far the easiest comparison to make with DarkStar, but I can still address it. Are you truly voting DarkStar because you are town and think he's scum after missing with Caz (this is what I doubt) or are you scum doing exactly what I fear?I have to side with DarkStar here, it looks to me like you don't really care who you're lynching UI, and with this vote on DarkStar you're following the momentum you created from the Caz lynch train. What do you think?I think you're quite mistaken and that you need to elaborate (especially the bolded part - what momentum?) so I can tell you exactly how so.
Toony and Native: Pufferfish is pending replacement. I doubt you'll get any response from him.Tch, of course that has to be true.
ToonyMan~Okay, let me go about this a different way. I don't understand your case on DarkStar here. You only seem to be voting DarkStar because he's voting UI and your other comments are about him using the wrong bbcode on Day 1, what's suspicious about saying color=blue instead of color=red and then correcting it? If you say it's his true scum colors showing then I can argue your attitude yesterday when I voted you is suspicious with the emotional paragraph defense thing.@Tiruin:O_o
Urist Imik is your buddy right?
wat
...How is he my buddy?
Now don't think I'm completely siding with you here, I find UI's vote under suspect, but your vote on UI is much easier to see as "bad". Town mislynch too remember, it's the intentions that really matter. If you can see their reasoning and understand it as genuine town then that's how you get your read. Unless you can find a better reason to vote UI I cannot agree with your vote.Okay, I see it. Here's why: Along with others, he was the main guy who got Caz mislynched.I must have missed that question, unless I confused who asked what.I have this thing called a life that means that I can't be hear every second of the day. If you want my attention, ask me a question; don't just say ANSWER ME NOW.I asked you a question. What's your excuse for not answering that?
It's odd how you are making long posts that are simply yelling and that consist of "You're wrong". You seem to be encouraging lynches on people just to get a lynch.
I have to side with DarkStar here, it looks to me like you don't really care who you're lynching UI, and with this vote on DarkStar you're following the momentum you created from the Caz lynch train. What do you think?Well, Urist Imiknorris, I think you're ignoring that you were one of the people who was most adamant that Caz was scum.TheDarkStar, this post and its followup are so scummy it's unbelievable. It looks like you just wanted a lynch, not necessarily his.If you are town, unvote me pls and lynch Imperial Guardsman for obv bandwagoningIf you are town, Caz, we'll find out when you die tonight, so we'll be able to take a closer look at the people who are voting for you tomorrow.
And then your response to Persus13 was absolutely wrong. You caved to pressure and voted him because Persus pointed out you weren't voting, and did so with no case. Your vote is reasonless, a bandwagon, a reasonless bandwagon, and the cowardly response to an obvious pressure vote.
What scraps?@Caz:He's picking over scraps in response to my vote on him.
I do not like your attitude. There's being afraid of dying and then there's "I don't give a crap if I'm lynched lol". Why does UI's reason for voting you make little sense?
IMO, someone voting Caz should be mafia, and I'm looking for that person..Why is that?
ToonyOkay. Unvote Tiruin.
Here..
Cutting:QuoteDo you think there is an sk in this game? Because that is not a guaranteed possibility.*sigh*
It would be hard to answer this with a Yes I do or a No I don't because I'm basing that notion on 'I'll be looking for proceeding notes'. Yes, I know it isn't guaranteed, but I can't say that I really think there is-with the underline for emphasis. I'm leaning on 'yeah let's think there is just for safety' but that does quite well nothing--which I didn't mention because it deals with nothing in its essence, if you somehow saw that kind of thinking back then, then a cookie for you because I really am sure I didn't type that out.
He's jabbing you for a scummy reaction. I don't see it as scummy since he's always done that regardless of alignment.@Elephant Parade:...You seriously are seeing it as an attack?ToonyMan, you've only had one post so far, and all it contained was backing somebody else up and an unexplained assumption. Care to explain why you think Tiruin is scum (or SK) and that means ZU isn't?When Tiruin explains their thoughts about this serial killer existence I can tell you. I don't think ZU would attack Tiruin like this.
Ok, while my wording looks 'defensive' or whatever, I've worded it that was in assertion so I could at least get some kind of answer from him. Past experience dictates that my method of curious inquisition doesn't bring out much, so I decided to show the knife I have to increase my point--I get a 'No' for it. I did not see his subtle passive-aggressive note as a threat or an attack, however. Just attributed it to him being the usual 'oh x is like y, or x is likely a z' without doing anything about it.
I cannot say if it exists or not. I'm literally wondering now how big that effect holds onto everyone else given the questioning of 'DO YOU THINK IT EXISTS?!'
The only logical conclusion I see is people thinking 'Mm, x thinks the SK exists. Must probably be the SK'.
...Which I find confusing, really.
It's an exaggeration.@Imperial Guardsman:...Now you're referencing that LNCP game. >_>
Or did you mean what did I think of Tiruin's mafia play? I think Tiruin has a pretty good mafia play until they claim they're mafia or third-party and get lynched. Although that makes it a bit easier to win.
Bleh.
...Ehh? Where in the world did I ever claim mafia before?
I was referring to Witches' Coven yes.Not having a vote on somebody 24 hours before day end is bad. Not voting on D1 is also bad.@NativeForeigner, Caz:Is there a particular reason you're concerned about my lack of vote on D1?
Vote somebody.
This is true and kind of interesting. It's not as useful though since a good investigation (one that reveals scum) goes wasted since you die.Imperial Guardsman:I was reading over the roles and noticed that the Hider is similar to a cop, except if they find mafia or an SK they die.
There is no cop in this setup. How is your question to Persus in any way relevant?
This is a whole lot of words just to say "yes I would shoot". If you don't have a solid scum read then you're doing something wrong.QuoteMakeinu: If you were a Vig, what would you do?Try not to be counter-productive.
If I didn't have a solid scum read, I'd skip a kill, because I don't like choosing targets at random. Not to say that I wouldn't pick a target and kill if I felt that my scum read was solid, just... if I wouldn't vote to lynch them, I wouldn't Vig-kill them either.
Same logic applies, to a lesser degree, if I had a target I thought scum, but where I was alone in thinking that. If I felt I had strong reason to suspect them but I couldn't convince others of that, then I'd examine my assumptions, and act accordingly. I mean, if I can't make the case enough to convince anyone else my logic is correct, then maybe my logic isn't correct, and I'd have to reassess before acting unilaterally. Miskills, whether a bad lynch or any other, will give info in the form of role-flips, but at what cost?
