Finally got caught up with Fate Zero. Wow.

That aerial fight between berserker and gilgamesh was awesome, but what the fuck was gilgamesh riding? I don't remember anything like that in any mythology I've read. I was really excited when berserker grabbed the minigun, but equally disappointed when it was destroyed before he could fire it.
How much has rider's reality marble been affected by the Cthulhu-monster? He has "unlimited" soldiers under his command, right?
While I'm glad that I no longer have to deal with team ntr's antics, the way they were taken out of the running left me speechless. Seriously, Kiritsugu just became the least sympathetic protagonist I can remember seeing.
Watching Kayneth crawling towards Kiritsugu, begging for death, and then hearing Kiritsugu say "I'm sorry, but the geass contract prevents me from doing that" just made things that much worse. After Saber mercy-killed them off-screen, I really thought she would try to do something to Kiritsugu.
The talking after that was a very well-done explanation of motivations and ideals. I'll be returning to this episode to watch that again a few times, I'm sure.
And don't get me started on lancer. Poor lancer. Being lancer is suffering.

I've got a pdf of fate zero, but I'm not sure whether to start reading it yet, or to read it after the anime is over.

I have to admit that I am also with the unimaginative crowd: no individualized voice while reading posts and no thoughts spent on what the person typing the message may actually look like. Especially the thoughtlessness about the person themselves is actually kind of deliberate since I appreciate the equalizing effect of the internet. That is, thanks to the pseudonymity of avatars and pen names, the things people say get much more weight than what the people are as they are not automatically pidgeonholed due to their appearance (e.g. coloured youth, old white lady, ...). I also don't believe in automatic prestige - I am willing to respect a 14-year-old as much for their insights as a 70-year-old, provided the insights are of the same level.... I hope this is somewhat understandable (^_^;;
