It can be pretty battle shounen-y but a lot of the characters are awesome and the plot can be cool..
I'm not sure I can say it's really "alien" but a few scenes are pretty weird and shiny yeah.

Baam actually reminds of me Aang from Avatar.

I should probably mention at some point but Carnival Phantasm gets most of its joke material from oldish (doujin) manga stuff.  I've already found a ton of old stuff from 2004-2006 and saw at least half of the jokes on CP being used there.  Some are unaltered while others make changes that make me a little sad and others that make me a little happy.


Now I'm not disappointed that Carnival Phantasm is using older material because anyway
1.  It's animated now
2.  Hardly any of this stuff is translated anyway
3.  LOVELY VOICES

Hmmm, you really might spoiled by the game...I think it does delve on the Ataraxia storyline a bit.

I'll be honest here, I've run into enough Fate/hollow spoilers by accident it doesn't even matter anymore, I know every important plot point.  What matters is when I finally get to play the game in English and experience that myself.  I'm pretty sure I know everything that happens already but it's one thing to get glimpses of something and another to actually read the damn thing.  It really doesn't bother me anymore.

...I'm still kind of amazed you read all of Index though.

Anywhooooooooo, I watched every The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan yesterday nyoron~  It only took like an hour, it was pretty amazing actually.  Had a lot of laugh out loud moments and stuff.  Also over half way done with Intrigues.

Also watched Illya's Special Castle which is basically all of the VAs role playing as their characters in a game of Illya's Castle being played, kind of amazing.  Poor Lancer.

And EX Season was hilarious, I didn't think it'd be so long but it was longer than a normal Carnival Phantasm OVA and was also full of Fate/hollow characters to boot (who I already knew all about so does it really matter).

The accent on my part of the East Coast cuts sounds like a slasher video. Co-n for cotton, where we just brutally omit various parts. When my brother got married to a Swiss girl and they had a vacation here she had a hard time understanding what we were saying.

I probably have a New England accent but honestly it's what sounds most normal to me.  I guess thanks to this I'm stuck saying 'man' and 'like' and 'riDICKulous' all the time though.

Also subs are called grinders here.

Some lady in my Calculus class has the most ridiculous British accent ever and she's always talking so I get to hear that all the time.

Incidentally, finished FZ volume 1 and my favourite bit was actually Urobuchi's epilogue.  Something about it was just amazing.

Urobuchi hates his characters.  Everything I've read that he's written is full of tragedy although Madoka's ending was strange.

ToAru Index NT vol3 is almost fully translated, yay~ Gotta' love the guys at Baka-Tsuki...

Is New Testament a direct continuation or does something weird happen?  Although it's not like I would even know for possibly years seriously my Index LN folder is 250MB of just WORDS (and illustrations).

Also I've been playing the hell out of Battle Moon Wars and it's getting pretty loopy thanks to the fact I'm up to Fate/hollow now.  Kotomine was finally mentioned by name, I wonder if I'll even see him.  It's crazy how in-depth they go for some of these plots for absolutely no reason.
I can't wait for the new Fate/hollow patch now.  It's funny how cool Nasu's fan-discs are when usually those are suppose to be just jokes but Nasu is like NO WE HAVE TO SURPRISE EVERYBODY.

Also on chapter 3 of Intrigues which means nothing because there's like 7 chapters + the epilogue I've read almost 100 pages and that's not even half of it damn time travel shit.  Seriously Haruhi's plots always end up being Kyon figuring out how everything happens.

I use to talk crap about my Shirou because his was only good at soaking damage before dying, but now...now...

He's one of my best characters, I mean, after he learned
he has become a killer god.  I started pumping stats into him and now he's just as competent if not more than the majority of my characters.  And his spell that instantly regens all of his HP for nothing at all is amazing.  He can't die and he kills everything.
