Current EventsWoke up this morning and went to Kotomine to see what's going on about Gilgamesh. I leave by myself without anybody really knowing what I'm doing because that's so Shirou! Apparently Illyasviel has a fever as well so she's been laying down since that incident when Gilgamesh first showed himself, well kind of. I actually remember now, on the second day I think I saw Gilgamesh talking to Sakura during the night but I didn't do anything. Now I kinda regret not being able to do anything heh.
Anyway I head to the church on top of the hill and look around in the building. I can't find Kirei anywhere when I notice a stairwell going downstairs into a possible basement? As I approach the stairs...
Shirou has a major intuition moment and starts panicking suddenly. Going against all desires I head downstairs into what appear to be damn catacombs or something. I stumble around in the dark looking for something when I find a coffin like place filled with...bodies.
There are many half-dead bodies around me, as my vision gets better in the dim light I see many decomposing bodies that are still alive. It looks like their souls are being sucked out of their bodies painstakingly slowly and it makes Shirou's heart rate skyrocket.
Suddenly a palm grasps around my shoulder. It's Kotomine. He says what bad timing I have as he was making breakfast for me. He didn't want me to see this. He didn't want me to see this. I turn to face him but before anything can happen
A lance pierces my back. Shit. I collapse from pain and Kotomine places me with the others. I try to struggle and stay alive. Saber will come if I'm in danger. I just need to survive this pain.
INTERLUDE
Saber senses my danger of course and comes to save me. I don't remember if she tells Tohsaka anything but probably not because hahahacommunication. She runs to the church in what is said so fast you would only see a blue/silver blur and she probably gets there in like five minutes. She runs down the staircase only to be confronted by the one and only Lancer. Finally Lancer is excited because he's never been able to fight like he wanted too. Apparently Kotomine killed Lancer's Master early on and took Lancer as his own and made him get intel from all the other Servants. Because of that Lancer was never able to actually do what he wanted in the first, have a battle to the death.
The two bare arms and fight, because Lancer is blocking the only path to Shirou. The two dance for a bit before I believe Kirei interrupts with a proposal. He'll give Shirou the Holy Grail and anything he desires. Shirou struggles in pain as he thinks about his past with the fire however he comes to a conclusion now and finally understand. He can't erase the past, if he does that what would happen to all the poor souls that died in that fire? They would be completely erased; never even having an existence. Shirou says his final answer is no. Surprised, Kotomine scoffs at the boy and his broken ideals and turns to Saber, giving the same proposal except that he wants Saber to kill Shirou as well. Saber has always wanted to change her past too, that's the whole reason why she wants the Holy Grail. Saber walks up to Shirou and looks down at him, but this man...with a similar situation he rejects the Holy Grail and uses the past as a stepping stone for the future, as growth. Saber recalls everything she's been through and realizes that Shirou is right. She can't change who becomes the King because her whole past would become a lie. A huge lie. What meaning does the past have if it can be changed? Absolutely no meaning. She turns to Kirei and rejects his proposal as well.
Shocked a bit, Kotomine calls Archer to him. Gilgamesh comes down the steps and shows himself to everybody. Shirou realizes, these corpses in here. These corpses are to feed Gilgamesh all these ten years! Who are these people anyway? They're all children. Kotomine notices and declares that yes, these are the other children from the hospital that Shirou was in after the fire. All the orphaned children from the fire. Since Kiritsugu took Shirou in the rest of the children went to the church...and Kotomine runs the church. He locked all the children downstairs and slowly drained their souls for Gilgamesh. At this moment Kirei decides it's a good time to say that yes, he was able to touch the Holy Grail and wish for the fire. He did so to distract Kiritsugu and Saber as they were the last opposition against him at the time. Yes, Kotomine was a Master from the previous Holy Grail War and his Servant was Archer, or as they say Gilgamesh. He tells Lancer and Gilgamesh to kill the two and walks back upstairs to do something probably.
Saber stands in front of me and says she'll protect me as I escape. I struggle to stand up and manage to do so somehow with a gaping hole in my chest. Not bothering to question that Saber and I advance to our opposing enemies. Lancer and Gilgamesh stare for a moment before the sound of clashing metal echos out.
Lancer just tried to kill Gilgamesh but Gilgamesh managed to block with a readied sword. Lancer laughs at himself for a minute as he realizes Gilgamesh had that sword ready to do the exact same thing to him. Saber questions Lancer on what the heck he's doing and Lancer replies that he's not giving any favors he just can't stand that Kotomine guy anymore. Gilgamesh acts amused and says he was going to kill Lancer anyway since there can only be one Servant alive for the Holy Grail to be summoned.
Lancer tells us to do whatever we want so Saber and I go past Lancer and run up the stairs to outside. I hear the two Servants talk for a short while before the sound of strife begins.
Saber and I relax for a moment outside since I still have a hole in me form the man that just saved me. I look at the hole in an unsettling way when Saber says she can help heal me. She sticks her fingers into the wound which is painful at first but then suddenly the pain begins to deviate and the hole disappears. Saber says in realization that I am literally her sword's sheathe which is a Noble Phantasm that grants incredible healing powers. Apparently when Kiritsugu found me in the fire he planted to sheathe into me to save me. That's why I've been able to heal so fast.
Anyway, the two of us run home to tell Tohsaka what has happened...
We spy blood on the door. I run inside quickly and follow the blood spots to find...
Tohsaka smiling at me. She greets me like nothing is wrong. I tell Saber to get medical stuff and ask Tohsaka what happened. Apparently Kotomine came to the house and attacked her suddenly. Then he went and took Illya with Tohsaka unable to do anything.
And Illya is the vessel for the Holy Grail War this time. What. Then Tohsaka takes a dagger out from behind her back and hands it to me. On the handle is inscribed AZOTH and apparently it should help some as a weapon. Rin says she didn't use it against Kotomine because it wasn't worth exposing that she had this when she was in such a state since he got first strike I'm guessing.
Saber and I try our best to comfort Tohsaka with what medical stuff we have and then we think of a game plan.
After dying multiple times I decide we take the sheathe out of me and let Saber use it during battle. Lancer is most certainly dead by now and Tohsaka said that Kotomine would most likely be at that Ryudou Temple since that place is the best place for summoning the Holy Grail. Since Saber is technically the last Servant left now the grail can be summoned through the vessel, Illya. After resting to our fullest Saber and I leave Tohsaka at the house to try to recover and we head to Ryudou Temple.
At the temple the air is purple/red and glowing particles float around everywhere. No people can be seen here, not even Issei or anything. Saber and I advance the steps into the temple. Inside we see Gilgamesh standing there, waiting. Saber points her sword at him and the two exchange words. Then Gilgamesh tells me Kotomine is behind the temple at the lake and to get the hell out of here. I look at Saber and then run past Gilgamesh to the lake.
Now at this part the scene constantly switches back and forth between Saber and Shirou like some kind of duel action parallel thing. I'll just do my best to keep this thing coherent.
Gilgamesh gives some words to Saber before the two begin strife. He obviously just wants affection right guys?!
Shirou spots the red lake and sees an unbelievable site.
(I'll just be censoring it on the safe side) Illya is hanging on the sky next to a black orb of death. I guess that's the Holy Grail huh? Kotomine is not amused. We exchange words for short while and I learn Kotomine's motives.
He's crazy. He considers stuff like music, art, stories, games, etc. to all be second-hand entertainment and that real entertainment is messing with humans themselves. I admit that's a pretty cool motivation and it's not too lame a reason heh. I charge at him with my dagger concealed behind my back when
He starts throwing black swamp wipes at me. I dodge a few to the side but more just keep coming and coming. Eventually I start getting hit.
It's numbing everything it hits. My foot is numb but I still manage to run on it. I realize that I've been dodging and getting exhausting but Kotomine hasn't even moved an inch. I find myself back where I started but exhausted and numb.
Saber isn't doing too well either. She parries Gilgamesh's blows but can't get close to him, eventually she's blown back by Ea even with Excalibur and Gilgamesh picks Saber up by her foot.
Saber responds by kicking him in the face.
Fortunately Gilgamesh doesn't really want to kill Saber because he wants to rape her but his patience is being pressured. Saber is kind of at a impasse here as she stands back up injured.
Meanwhile, Shirou trips on his numb ankle. Shirou struggles to get up pathetically and Kotomine stares at him blankly before pointing his wipes at Shirou. In vain Shirou struggles as the black wipes wrap around his wrists and ankles. He's lifted like object and brought towards Kotomine. There he says some final farewells to Shirou and Kiritsugu before grasping a glob of the black Holy Grail sphere and plunging it into Shirou...
(Gotta love the voice actors) Shirou flips his shit and screams as he escapes the confines of the black goo. Kirei gasps in surprise as Shirou begins projection magic once again. He summons Saber's sheathe almost instantly before like TRANSCENDENCE THE HELLING IT BACK.
Gilgamesh prepares Ea for a final strike. Saber doesn't have enough energy left to use Excalibur's noble phantasm again when SUDDENLY SHEATHE RIGHT HERE. Gilgamesh unleashes his attack and Saber runs into it with her full sword, sheathe and all. She cuts through Ea's wind and
Slices Gilgamesh almost in two.
At the same time Shirou dashes at Kotomine after that amazement and
PLUNGES THE AZOTH INTO HIS CHEST
The two villains fall over probably simultaneously. Gilgamesh laughs at his death and says some parting words to Saber before passing on. Kotomine says that he was never able to beat Emiya as the black swamp swallows him whole.
Saber comes running up to me. She looks at me and asks me the obvious question if I want to destroy the Holy Grail.
I say yes. My last command spell vanishes. (you have to use a command spell to do this even if Saber doesn't mind)
Saber nods and slices the Holy Grail in two with her sword. I get the sleeping (naked) Illya and look at Saber.
The sun begins to rise to announce 2/16.
Saber begins to disappear.

EPILOGUETWO MONTHS LATER
I'm awoken by Sakura in my shed. I stumble about and thank her. I walk outside to see Illya pissed that Sakura woke me up first. Illya is now living at Fuji-Nee's house and the new school year is about to start. At first Sakura was depressed that her brother "disappeared" (she probably knows he's dead) but Illya was able to become friends with her and cheer her up. It's 4/7 now and as I had to school I see Tohsaka at the crossroads. I walk with her to school and treat everything I went through as a valuable lesson/experience I grew up with.
MANY MANY YEARS AGO
We see a wounded knight running with a horse with the small King on top. He runs for a bit before resting Arthuria down against a tree next to the bloody hill.
The sullen knight is about to leave on the horse to get medical treatment for Arthuria when she calls out to him.
"Bedivere."
He turns around quickly and asks what Arthuria wants. She slowly takes out the sword in her suit of armor and tells Bedivere to throw the sword into the lake on the hill. At first he refuses however Arthuria's insistence finally makes Bedivere throw the sword in the lake. After telling Arthuria that she smiles and thanks Bedivere. She smiles and then slowly passes away.
