I bet you can really go crazy with converting orks. :D
Adding various fantasy orky bitz and combining various bits of other armies into insane warmachines that go "boom-clanka-dakka-boom-stomp"!

Someone aught to make A Rogue Trader army. You can find a community Rogue Trader army codex on 1d4chan

Are the beaky marines distinct from regular spess mareehns?
Nah, beakies are just an older make of powerarmour, as powerarmours and mureen equipment is religiously maintained and kept up to date, it does not matter in functionality.
The beaky ostentatiously had a habit of deflecting shots to the face into the neckjoin.
The beaky has been the main type of suit for a long time since the Herecy and is still well-loved.

edit;
I can't find any flamer-mureens (models) or even weapon-sprues with them. I love the ones that IG got.

They are just starting to bring out the revised versions of the revised versions  of the revised versions of the revised versions of the codices, so now is the time to jump in.
Everyone will be <sorta> new to the rules revisions.
:D
Only it seems Vassal hates noobs and weighs the dice against them...

edit: one revision too many, oops.

Just returned from a useless trip to our local hobbystore!
Spent almost an hour selecting the right stuff for some nice converted scouts and a wolfguard with claws....
...then found I had put my bankcard in the asspocket of my workingpants yesterday in order to keep it safe. Forgot to put it back in it's proper place obviously. :(
That fiasco saved me almost 100Euros in crap. :D

better try to convert that bikescout to a marine now.

Stormboyz and Bloodaxes in general would be my flavour of choice as well. :D
edit: Should I have to pick an ork army.

dunno wat ye mean about the writing thing....

anyhow 500 point gloryquest pack:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I may need to split up the claws to get two troopchoices.
Also It might be more fun to include some lone wolves in stead of the skywolves. I've foregone any heavyweapons in order to have more close-in fun.

Next: longfangs supporting scouts. :D

What is it about Bjorn that you find so beardy?
Besides the incredible save, which is logical for a machine that has survived battle for more than ten millenia.
When he eventually dies. The way objectives change is pretty cool.

(Still, I'm not likely try to not use any of the older preconcieved special characters)
What is up with the wolftail amulets/ wolfteeth necklaces? Almost all my models got those! Now suddenly they are rare-wargear for characters/elites?

people are always freaking out over how over/underpowered new codices are.
I'll believe it when I see it. :)

Reasons to not listen to complainers:
-I've always done wolves.
-I have a habit of sabotaging myself with army choices.  (eg I'm not mathhammer material).
-They will get their own overpowered codices in time.

hrmmf!
I just downloaded the wolfie-codex (not because I'm cheap, but may recieve it as a present later this month)
And the first thing that is confirmed is that wolfies don't have scout bikers only wheelyclaws. :(
I just assembled the one I was gifted the 5th.
...Maybe I can convert it to a goofy marine, but it's not very likely he'll ever fit in with the other swiftclaws.

With a codex, I'll attempt to build my favorite force. while hopefully excludig the more popular of the characters. ....A wolf cavalry army might be fun. :)

Yeah... anyone got an old codex lying around ready for scanning?
I only got the Epic v2 rules (the one without the Imperators etc) for Squat, which doesnt get ye far in 40K...

As copyright is concerned, according to GW the material doesn't exist, so even if Jarvis (or whatever author wrote it) did not die 20 years ago, they can hardly send lawyers after us for making up rules from non-existing source material. :p

...it is really hard to find any books online for them, even a copy of the original Rogue Trader is easier!

Wheat did a decent enough job for Europeans but adding potatoes to their diet was useful for stabilizing their diet further. They've got wheat in northern China as well but I'm not familiar with the usual deficiencies in a rice based diet (or are there none?) They've got soy beans there though so maybe they've always been supplementing their diets with those.

i think the major problem with a rice only diet is the lack of vitamin A, wich can lead to blindness
beriberi a vitamin deficiency syndrome characterised by spasms and blindness due to loss of nerve function (IIRC). Actually this mainly applies to the luxurious polished rice, rice with husks do contain some vitamin.
