nah. copyright isn't there for the artists anymore (if it ever was), it is for the publishers.

It is just that I don't like gov't imposing their limits on my freedom of movement and action.
I got my own, more moral than any politicians', moral system thank you. :)
I hate the crud I am required to suffer through at the start of DVDs I buy legally! I really do, and I don't want crud on our internet. Freedom! I don't want chinese internet, haven't got the fonts installed.

I don't have much money, but I pay the people who are good to me and give me access to their stuff for free and only ask for what I think it is worth, such as Toady1, the people behind Spybot and Hitmanpro and so on. :D
That is unless they demand I do so by creditcard or international cheque. :(

Even though I download some stuff occasionally, I buy official stuff more often.
Usually I am disappointed by new publications though, so if artists are getting less money, it probably is because more crap is produced nowadays, more good stuff too, but there is just so much of it, it is hard to see the diamonds in the sewer. As for software: I buy a good game. But I can understand why many don't, if the stupid box is empty of content besides the software which is an unpatched, badly regionalised version which can only be installed X times or requires you to crawl through several miasmas to register.
Heh. used to be registration was only for waranty. On those silly cards. I remember not sending most of them.

ack! enough ranting. :P

Stuff that is beyond quality is what I pay for!
Have you anti-piracy guys donated yet? :)

I say attack the distributors, not the medium!
Yay!

Anywho, the internet is too dirty and filled with pr0n that it's beyond saving.
Nay! I like the porn.
Even creating a list of providers that host spammers, kidporn and malicious sites can WILL IMMEDIATELY be abused to harass p2p and filesharing sites and a bit later to block anything anti-politic.

yup. Leukemia is a cancer of your leukocyte(whitebloodcell) mast cells (semi-stemcells. The popular meaning of stemcell has evolved recently).

It's a pretty nasty cancer as cancers go.
Can't just cut it out, they basically have to cook your marrow.
And as with most major organs: you can't live without it, so you need replacement.
I heard filtration techniques (combined with affinity selection etc) are beginning to look promising as a replacement or temporary fix for donor marrow.

Anyhow: Labs, welcome back to the living! I'm happy for you.  :)

yarrr!!

Pull me lever and call me shrimpy!

I wanted to vote for these dogs. :D (Sissy frenchies were trying to make copyright laws even more draconian!) (motion didn't pass)
Darn system only lets you vote for local/national party's european delegates though. :(
So me vote went to a tiny pro-euro/democratic reform party.

You say a 'quale' is an influence outside the brain.

hormonal states have a pretty big effect on how the brain operates and thus on perception.
I guess that is meant by that qualia item?

But the brain does not evolve, wrong noun, it adapts. (to repeated stimuli)
But you go on to state that the brain learns to generate these 'quale'... sounds more like a feedback loop that fixes a nervepath, but that is an internal response to a repeated stimulus.

May I ask what literature you got your terms, concepts and theory of mind from? Also, what is the field of study this information is coming from? (psychology, theology, AI research, neuroscience?)

Scanning down the discussion it seems you guys are discussing the psychology of the 'self image' and whether it is a delusion of the animal brain or a proof of an unnatural (or supernatural) soul.
I can only add that the existence of multiple personality disorder syndrome and the fact that brainwashing techniques work indicate that the mind/personality is a maleable thing.

Should try 'Fragile Alliance', not sure whether it runs under dosbox... windows I tried one time I think after I updated to XP.
This game is quite dynamic. You can probably find it in/on abandonia.

I DL-ed LoA recently, tried to install it recently, admired a masterfully crafter 'register now' window lately.
Then DL-ed the demo, the game (images on homepage) looks stylised, haven't tried it yet.

Why not ferret?

They are clean, hyperactive, destructive, playful, cheery, can be walked, can be housetrained and they have cute whiskers.
They are the perfect combination of cat, rodent and dog characteristics!

except I hear the males can stink up the place if not neutered (like cats), but meh, bitches dribble blood all over your floor when they are in heat.

J/K ofcourse, ferret are not canine, you want dog. Should not be bothering you with ramblings. :)

nice soundtrackin ascendancy, but the gameplay was a bit off I felt. Enjoyable for a while though, while you are figuring things out.

How about X? X3 reunion is the latest I think. It is pretty action oriented and you can build factories etc.
At least one step closer towards eXpand from freelancer.

No research IIRC though, but exploring and exterminating by the bucketfull, what was the fourth X... Extort?
