Well, time to outfit the troops, it seems...

Idea here. If you use some marksdwarves to keep the top level pinned down, you can build a huge goblinswatter over the top of the tower, pull a lever, and send it crashing through the flimsy constructions!

...YOU BEARDED HAMBURGER.

I say that pretty much pushed things into epic territories, courtesy of elven cannibalism.

But yeah, I'd like to enrage the Elves and fight off a constant zerg swarm... So much fun. Not so much fun for the migrants. But nobody likes them.

Hm... Well, don't give up now! Dig into it from below, and let the pump sort it out!

Hm... This would probably be a pretty high-casualty community game... If it turns into one, sign me up!

Hm... I've discovered something new and exciting reguarding corpse disposal. As of late I've been running a lot pertinant to religions (With two religions of death and destruction in the past, it was almost coustomary to build a drowning pool in the parthenon).

So now, the latest in Dwarven trends... Religious burial cerimonies.

Niiiice. Even the finger people would use to indicate one.

Elves will trade. Goblins, I dunno. In the future, I think whoever's at war with your civ will seige. Whoever isn't will probably trade. Not sure though. Also not sure if that's already the case, as I'm at war with goblins.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: World Generation in 39b

There should be a megabeast amount option to tweak in the new gen... But I've never really had a problem with the 'low' amount of megas, and all my civs survived just fine. Dunno what it is.

563
Not aware of a way, myself... But why is it you want to filter them out by stockpile?

(Also, a good way to get around it is to recognise the distances. My goods-to-trade and elven goods-to-trade piles are always distinctly located.)

I think the Dev already explained this one. Dwarves will travel pretty far to get new food, but probably not across the entire map. Likely across the entire fort, though. And the mass build designations and hiding are great for building your fort nice and clean.

Dun dun dunnnnnnnnnn...

Shall Kel ever avenge the Incestbuttocks clan? Will he consider travel for the rest of his days?

On the post is an image of Bugs and Toady the Splendor of Programming in Chitin. The Bugs are dead. The Toady the Splendor of Programming is laughing.

Little do they know, these cultists were behind the epidemic of the Sleeping Death. Every day, dozens more contemplate Glitches before they sleep... And never wake up again.

You guys talking about 'good' and 'evil' races are kind of misunderstanding here.

From the point of view of the Elves, humans ARE evil.

Evil is not objective, no matter what we may think. Evil is just 'someone who has a morality that I don't like',  and the elves definitely don't like people cutting down trees and killing animals.

Just splitting the game into 'good' and 'evil' races would be a massive oversimplification

Well, morality becomes more clear-cut with {GOOD} and {EVIL} tags. But it does seem more a reference to those likely tags than any statement on their philosophy. Case in point being the elves. Nobody likes 'em, but they'd probably tag them as Good.

Cannabal Pansies are a'ok in my books. I just wanna give a big thanks to Adams for making this kind of mass homocidical cannabal race possible.

Ah, yes, the new chronicles... I'd want to write a story for every single war, but I'll just give you what I've read so far...

From year one, the Elves ended up on the wrong side of a Titan clan, which promptly slaughtered them to the point where most wars involving Elves have only a few Elves fighting a few dozen enemies. They were then terrorized by Smunstu Necroplagues, because fire demons hate water worshippers.

Tagakurin the Kobold tore a bronze colossus to bits. He sprained his finger.

Tol Ponderedpage the Elder of Strategy (who seems to be some kind of Titan figurehead, judging by the name) went after a human camp after picking his teeth with Elf bones. Thus started the career of Tode Bronzedreamed, who slaughtered anything that even came near a human settlement for 20 years. After suffering a few spear wounds bringing down the demon that had nearly finished off the elves inside the Heart of Eternity, he's dissapeared off the radar.

Also, an Elven hero had to take on two leaders in duels. one tore her mouth, the other one killed her.

(And 'The Malice of Clapping', the evil that never wins a fight.)

((...And they're apparently a group of evil dwarves.))
