? (Yeah, I needed one more character limit for question mark)

At which point it's going to hit like pistol?

At which point it's going to hit like assault rifle?

At which point it's going to hit like sniper rifle (chance of severing limbs of humans in real life)?

The idea for this post came from TV Tropes describing lashers as being capable to hit with their whips like pistol bullets. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/GameBreaker/Simulation

1. Bark scorpion man.
2. Started with average strength leveled to superior.

The attack in question used to kill colossus was stinger. I was farming stats at random after I became so good at dodging it never hit me. I randomly pwned colossi to death with stinger into head. Same stinger severed some body parts.

In arena mode I managed to level up even willpower.

While that thing is not supposted to be organic it wasn't programmed to have anything special about it's attributes and is threatened by the game as if it could improve them with physical workout.

So this is what makes it gain improved accuracy over time against my stat grinding adventurers.

Is this a bug or a feature?

DF Gameplay Questions / How Dangerous Is Bronze Colossus' Pushing?
« on: December 26, 2021, 09:10:00 am »
Wiki article states on live training against a colossus dummy that it is barely dangerous as "both sides don't do much damage". In fact if all goes correctly all attacks on colossus intended to grind stats should glance away. Some people say that colossus does devastating pushing.

As far as I know a character unable to do it's natural attacks anymore does pushing.

Does severing more body parts like ears reduce damage of pushing since it contributes to weight?

Does mangling (turning into red text) torso, head and neck reduce damage of colossus?

Can an unarmored elephant man with superior (not super) defensive stats survive the attack?

DF Gameplay Questions / Why The Fuck I Can't Play As Elephant Man?
« on: December 26, 2021, 05:38:35 am »
I literally set temperature everywhere to WARM so I can only have tropical forests everywhere at max drainage and rainfall. That's a biome of elephants.

I only gave my world moderate and high savagery areas. Several times I repeated generation and no elephant men but the same animal people options were constant.

When I use regular world generator I can play as them but advanced is fucking astonishing.

I just wanted to ensure that I will always have bronze colossi in my world for stat farming and lazy people could copy and paste my settings.

Also I intentionally only have one dwarven civ in my pocket world. Does that prevent elephant men from joining somehow? DO I REALLY NEED SOME FUCKING HUMANITY FOR IT?

I WANT MY HUMANITY RESTORED!!!

There is that temperature slider between -1000 and 1000 that is at 25 and 75 by default?

What those values mean in Celcius:

25
75
0
-1000
1000

I noticed that having my world only have 60 in all squares almost guarantees warm climates. Some mountains fall as exeptions and are temperate instead.

Is there any animal person in the game capable of surviving at -1000 forever?

...Bogeymen during worldgen to satisfy their need for fighting if they are brave enough.

That would be pretty damn cool.

DF Gameplay Questions / How Does Evil Spread Exactly?
« on: October 12, 2021, 06:24:53 pm »
I know it needs a token possesed by clowns and given to necromancers but some civs controlled by them claim new land faster under evil corruption. Do personality traits affect how many nearby land gets affected and how quickly? Is it possible to have a creature being a civ leader with evil spreading token not generate evil tiles ever?

DF Suggestions / Expanded Combat Preferences
« on: October 09, 2021, 07:39:15 am »
After I got [NOEXERT] through necromancy I decided to train on bronze colossus my unarmed combat attacks to legendary. The thing is that I decided to just spam "8" key (it was one step north of me) instead of constantly doing quick attacks because this is much faster without constantly entering menu.

I believe that combat preference screen should feature what kind of attack variation should be executed if not specified and if "critical hits" as I call them (random cyan exclamation marks that boost melee attacks) should override current specified attack method such as punching or kicking.

If a specified attack method is not avaliable than possesion of the weapon that uses specified attack should be regained or if a body part is missing the attack should be entirely replaced with something else.

This does not have to be used for grind at all. Additionally quick attack preference could be combined with aiming constantly a specified body part such as neck for decapitations.

DF Gameplay Questions / Is This A Bug Or A Feature?
« on: October 09, 2021, 05:10:24 am »
I literally decided to lower secret types in advanced world generator to 99 from 1000. In 50 years 2 civilizations developed 2 slabs. Actually one was destroyed very early on so another developed 2 and they were vanilla dwarves. I did dozens of attempts with secrets set to 1000 but they don't spawn.

Also tombs do show up even if I set amount of disturbances to 0.

I am also clearly sure that my world generation doesn't stop the moment a certain percentage of megabeasts die. I set it to 10% with 4 megabeast "caves" and no titans and started checking at year 2 but even if a bronze colossus gets slain at year 9 it goes to 50.

I can also play in adventure mode as intelligent wilderness creatures even though I set savagery to 0 on every single tile in advanced world gen.

DF Gameplay Questions / Can Elfs Create Civs In Jungles?
« on: October 09, 2021, 04:59:09 am »
I intentionally created a world without a forest but elves established their setting in a jungle.

27
Is this caused by that I have both X and Y variants of rainfall set to 26? What do those values do exactly?

Also 1000 amount of secrets doesn't seem to spawn necromancers in world with only 50 historical figures being alive at once (like, I put 2 civs in a pocket world with no savagery at all and 20 megabeasts). I used legends mode to find a slab but there are none. 99 years of history gave no necromancers. I tried many times.

28
...Player-Character Like?

By that I mean giving him the least personality possible (neutrality) while also making him have no needs.

29
I was looking for "Cherishclench" for a while for my outsider to start there because my world features hundreds of sites. Now that I found it I can start pursuing a giant who has a necromancer slab. The thing is while it took me few minutes to find it other players might skip this location while looking up for it.

Perhaps a filter for animals to be picked for adventure could also help and generally maybe in other spots as well.

DF Suggestions / An Option To Make NPC Tell Everything About All Troubles
« on: September 30, 2021, 06:21:35 am »
Usually when in adventure mode the player has to know everything about surrounding area they must ask NPC everything troublemaker after troublemaker. What if the player was able to know all night troll sites by making a single question?
