General Discussion / Re: Railgun and Spirituality Discussion

Oh I'm under no illusions, fundamentalism is alive and well in swaths of the States and nothing on that map really surprises me. But it's fairly moderate compared with most of the global south (as well as Germany, Italy, Portugal and parts of the Balkans).

Virtually the entirety of Iran's neighborhood is solidly more religious than the states so to manage to be on the other side of our arbitrary US benchmark despite heavily theocratic governance is quite interesting.

Especially when you compare to neighbours like Turkey which I believe was also relatively more liberal (spiritually and otherwise) at one point but I think (perhaps I should check before I say this as I don't know the recent data) has become increasingly less so over the years

Interesting study and I'm not hugely surprised because as stated above Iran was not super religious before the theocratic government. I'm a little surprised it swung so far in this direction though (more prevalent atheists than the USA is something). Only skimmed it but haven't picked up on any glaring methodology issues. When I have a chance I'll take a deeper dig

Yeah naval antics are pretty exploitable at the moment. In another game I narrowly missed out on being the crusade war leader (infact was war leader for large periods of the war) as a random count with 600 men by using the sea to avoid battles and repeatedly sieging Cyprus (not even the war target) everytime the Muslims sent someone to take it back before heading back to the real fighting

Or they can catch you. I just had a game where my army was routed in Desmond, marched itself away to my cap in Ulster but the enemy ai sailed around ireland faster than my bwois could march so they were already there waiting waiting to commence the sequel slaughter

These things will all be added later.

As DLC.

Naval battles?  Ha ha...  :P

I could see it, tho they changed how fleets work now in all you have to do is walk your boys to the water and pay a fee and they mystically find boats so I don't even think you technically have your own fleet right now.

Not sure if that means they're moving further away from the idea or if they're keeping the space open to make it easier to implement down the line. Guess only time will tell

I think You can just tick the matrilineal marriage box...

Also I completely goofed earlier. I wasn't talking about the search bar at all, I meant the spouse finder and got confused. The spouse finder is better in this release, search bar is pretty much the same then I guess which is a shame

Was the search bar the same, in pretty sure they've added a few things but maybe I'm missremembering?

The gold cost for recruiting people with claims is highly ridiculous though, no argument there.

They've improved the marriage screen with a bunch of new filters so you can specifically order by (for example) the strongest alliance, the highest prestige gain, or even filter it to just give marriages with hereditary traits. Vast quality of life improvement imo

I certainly thought the Diplo range was too wide even on restrictive settings. Making marriages with and inviting to your court random steppe nomads as like Abyssinia or a western lord really didn't make any sense. That issue is still there although courtiers work differently now. You don't just search every available eprson who might consider moving house in an area of half the globe anymore. Free courtiers just kinda circulate between courts as guests until someone takes them so that makes more sense and takes the obnoxious micromanagement out of recruiting new courtiers. Marriages are still bizarre however.

Since it's free on PS+ this month, I've been wasting my time playing the console version of PUBG.
This sounds pretty crazy, but it (and presumably the PC version) is actually worse than the mobile version. Sure, it kinda looks nicer (though with more pop-up and tearing) and it's cool to have dead bodies lying around rather than people just transforming into crates, but in so many other ways it's inferior. No directional sound, no marking while ADS - well, more importantly there is no ability to customise your control schemes, it seems like there are less challenges to do and less limited-time items in the store, following your squad mates is derpier and there's no option to invite folks to follow, and somehow they've managed to streamline the menu but make it more confusing than the clusterfuck that was the mobile equivalent.

...I think. Actually, that last one might just be me not being used to it. Probably. The others are all for real, though.

It's real. Say what you like but tencent are the kings of quality mobile ports right now. Their knock off Chinese phone LOL that they had another subsidiary make after the newly acquired Riot Games said a LOL port couldn't be done is also heat

I guess good old Icke is still ahead of the curve with the very current threat of disguised reptoids. Isn't he on that covid is a hoax juice too? I know he was at anti lockdown protests recently

I liked a point someone made that since usually only nonwhite cultures have their accomplishments credited to aliens, taking the claims at face value could imply that aliens are racist towards whites people.

... Ok ok... But what if we're looking in the wrong place. Maybe the nonwhite alien past conspiracy theories are just part of a bigger more elaborate conspiracy.  Obviously the claim that aliens visited us thousands of years ago is ludicrous. They are visiting NOW and taking up leadership amidst the straight white male ruling class. Don't believe me? Fine. But come on, we've all suspected Elon Musk wasn't human at some time or another. And I'm talking BEFORE he even started putting sci-fi brain computers into pigs. Now the evidence is undeniable
