Curses / Re: ... This must have been the oddest scene to witness.

Didn't exactly want to create a new thread, and it's an odd scene to see, so...

I guess some of the CCS have a soft spot for liberal ideals.

Or, maybe 29 Heart and 27 Charisma + 27 Persuasion is too powerful. =P

EDIT: Also, since it was changed so we couldn't date Guard Dogs and the like, you should probably also change it so we can't spam date attempts on them and get Seduction/Persuasion (only tried seduction, assuming you can do it for issues as well) in one day.

Curses / Things to ponder
« on: March 19, 2008, 10:58:00 pm »
1. Why is it that in the activity select screen when you're at the Liberal Guardian HQ, you can press 'w' and bring up a list of things to write about (even though the option isn't listed)?

2. Is a single, solitary man (the founder) supposed to be able to influence the entire country and turn the President, VP, Secretary of State, Attorney General, Supreme Court, and House of Representatives Elite Liberal (Haven't managed to budge the Senate from Liberal to Elite Liberal yet)?

3. Furthermore, is said founder supposed to be able to do the above starting with - only enough street sense to avoid arrest, and 5 art? I managed to turn the country Elite Liberal by spamming 'Spray Graffiti' underneath Liberal Activism and just holding down 'w' as the years flew by. That's some powerful graffiti (my top skill is now Art at 42, by the way).

4. 31 security (from unlocking things), 30 stealth, and 29 disguise (those two from holding 's' down in the gentlemen's club with an expensive suit on) lets me infiltrate any building I want to and avoid fighting altogether. If the conservatives are alarmed, 27 Charisma and 24 persuasion deals with it nicely (Mostly 'e' founder). So I can infiltrate all the high-security buildings, like the Intelligence HQ and such, and not have to worry at all. So long as I move fast enough as to not raise an alarm and only suspicion, I could do it naked (28 stealth).

5. May be just oversight on my part, but how are you supposed to specifically target some issues to counter the negative effects of random events like newspapers that move the country away from Liberalism? Rely on your own random activism? (ie. Abortion, Death Penalty, Homosexuality, Free Speech, Flag Burning, Gun Control)

6. The political system is moves extremely slowly. The country has been Elite Liberal on every subject for at least fifty years now. Don't have much left to do except wait for the Senate to finish converting to Elite Liberal, which I expect will take at least 10 more years as it barely moves each time.

7. Either I'm really bad at it, or there's no way to quickly enlighten someone to act as a sleeper without pounding the life out of him and then trying to boost his morale. Then, if you fail to catch the deadline, you're stuck with someone with low Heart. The only way (that I can see) to have convert someone to a Liberal with high heart is to leave the values at default (restrained, given food+water, lights on) and just try to convert them every time without drugs, violence, or deprivation from anything.

8. You nearly never see the amount of respect the Liberal Crime Squad has when polling. I see it once in about 100 polls. It'd be useful to know about the LCS's status more often.

Curses / Re: Skillboosting bug?
« on: March 17, 2008, 07:57:00 pm »
Not really the same bug, but I didn't feel like starting a new topic for it and it boosts skill too. Even though it's completely unrelated.

Scenario: The Founder picks up three hippies to turn into soldiers. He arms all of them with M16s and First-Rate Army Uniforms (himself included), and heads over to a Garment-Making-Oppression place to cleanse it of conservatives. The Founder drives a Taxicab and his three buddies ride.

Once at the place, they destroy a few machines, free a few oppressed slaves, and kill a few people. Retreating, they leave the area. But then, hot pursuit ensues as three-four cop cars chases them. During the ensuing shooting, a few cops are killed, but one of the founder's new hippie buddies gets mortally wounded and bleeds to death in the taxi. Wishing to save the rest of them, the Founder swerves off and loses the cops on his tail.

Now in the main screen, after sending them all off to the hospital (not sure if the bug was active before the hospital send-off), his two buddies return. Then, the Founder notices this.

While I envy the skill levels of this liberal, she's rather useless dead. =P 3000 Teaching + thousands of other skills = souped up skills on all of my alive people.

Note: I backed up the save file. Reloading the save file, the exact same situation as above occurs EXCEPT- In Picture One (above), there's no stats. Just  a "2", and a lot of blank space- no numbers, "deceased", location, activity, etc. And pressing "2" to attempt to get into detailed view of the buggy liberal doesn't do anything.

EDIT: After my wounded men returned from the hospital, I attempted to have them dispose of the body. Didn't work. Tried to get her out of the taxi. Didn't really work (but then again, I've never tried to get someone to stop using a vehicle  before). Waited a bit, packed up my thirty or so M16s from SafeHouse1, headed to my Liberal Guardian HQ, and after I arrived the bug became clearly visible. I suspect it has something to do with her dying in the taxi, but I haven't looked at the code and don't know how to program in this language anyways.

False. I just had a sleeper judge preside over the case of one of my hippies (who was charged with murder in the twenties, various other things, and escaping prison [which is extremely difficult to get out of]) and said hippie, combined with his 'humiliating defense', got issued the death sentence.
