DF Modding / Help with new Ore

The Main Problem is that the stone doesn't appear in the game
another problem is that the test smelter reaction doesn't work.

ok I tried to add in Mithril but it's not appearing and not working  ???

I am a new very bad modder so I put the Mithril Data in both the stone mineral Matgloss and the metal Matgloss but I am not sure if it should go in both

also how do I make a reaction to actually make the stones so I can test them?
this is what I tried but it didn't work:

when I tried the reaction it made items that weight 13367 or around there dwarf pounds and called stone. it wasn't stone because when I made a stone stock pile they didn't go into it.

the Mithril is for a mod I am making and version 0.06 (first version) will be released after I get this problem fixed.

I don't have a PS3 either, so I can't do Little Big Planet. I briefly tried OpenLieroX and wasn't very impressed by it, but I might still be able to participate if it was chosen.

I think that freely available games with low hardware requirements are our best bet with this.

Also, by "freely available" I mean freeware, abandonware, or piracy.

hehehe Piracy...  :)

EDIT: Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne and Diablo II sound good to me

this would be even better if there was a All button that opens/closes all the others a lets you change everyone's jobs...  ::) maybe you could add it.

And we almost ran out of booze because all the brewable plants had been used up in making meals.


just press [z] and go to the Kitchen screen and set plump helmets only to brewable.

Lambskin:  The dead tree falls on you before you can do anything.   You survive the night, but no one finds you as you are trapped under the soggy, decaying wreck of arbor.   Moss and mold and mushrooms spread from its rotting core and envelop your skin, filling your mouth and nostrils with black, greasy cilia.   Each breath you take is pregnant with a terrible gust of spores, and soon your lungs are clogged with an ecosystem of damp, dark life.   Insects with hundreds of legs crawl all over you, and you are forced to watch as slugs mate with each other.   They lay eggs under your eyelids, and the terrible subtleness as the slug eggs vibrate against your retina is unbearable.   By the time they hatch, you are no longer sane.

If reverted back to a smaller size, is fine for any DF forum game.

poor goblin in the bottom right  :'( I might just join this so he can make his own fortress...

also this Thread could also be used if someone wants a map but can't make it them selves they could ask someone else to make it.

 Mind you each turn should have a significant ability to do stuff. We don't waqnt to take a billion turns to smooth our fortress and build walls, we want those walls done NOW!

 Thus the difference between forums and IRC. IRC can have many small actions. Forums require fewer larger actions. Thus why forum-based roleplays require several paragraphs to pull off right.

I hope you know but other people can put their own ideas because this is just a idea Thread.

I'm in favor of a Team Dwarf Fortress thing. It might be good to see some Squad Digger type classes as opposed to things like "Cook" and "Cheesemaker," though.

What about trying to make the game continuous? Where if one team (let's say) captures a flag or something, they just get a point and the game continues. This sort of model would need things to deal with inactive players and new players. Maybe inactive players could get kicked if they spend more than X turns inactive, and new players could jump in via a respawn point when slots open.
also sometimes games just need to end because they can get boring after a while or just to busy and complicated

ok after Dig 3 tiles and Squad digger I have decided that we should have a Thread that you put your Ideas for a game n the Forums that would require a Map and others will share their ideas.

my idea (which I will make after you guys help me out) is to make something like Dig 3 tiles but everyone only gets one character to control and there are 2 teams to build the best fortress while the GM (ME) gives them challenges like goblins but also give them Caravans to trade with and so fourth. I will (probably) start this game in a few days but any ideas?

Even on easy, those hell knights take 2 or 3 rockets before going down, and there were 10 all spread out, doing 30% damage every turn...maybe I just got unlucky.


Breaking through the top would definitely be better - there would be a smaller gap for them to go through and less of them to deal with at a time.




I found the hell knights only took 1 or 2 hits on easy and I would hit about 3 a turn because of the splash damage.
