It's always fun just inteacting with each other there, as we're always teasing each other in a good natured manner and getting drunk.
We also tend to blame working poorly on sobriety.

One example, from the other night would be at the forges...

Deon: I feel as strong as an ox.
Zon: Ye smell like one, too.
Deon/Zon: *Laugh Heartily*

Of course, i saw on their forums that they think we're cute.
We probably didn't help that image when they fixed Monom's name to add a last name to him, and his mule complained about greedy dwarves not sharing the food to celebrate with. I called his mule lunch. We both drank heavily, blaming sobriety for hearing a mule speak.
The mule never did get any cookies.

Edit: Oh, Tinkering, you can make various golem types apparently.
Nothing says dwarven defence like a mechanical man beating your enemies to death!

Right now, we're in need of famer's and tailors to fuel our crafting addictions.
So, anybody who joins us, has a well defined and needed position, waiting for them!

I just hope i'm not the one who gets adopted!
I mean, they'd kill me just to stop 'my' cat having kittens and overrunning the place!

Yeah, anybody that comes to join, can ask myself (Zon Angdurad) or Hamenopi (Monom) for basic starting gear, to get them started.

What i'm offering consists of a set of armour 'fit for a dwarf' (exceptional), made from Iron.
Ring Mail Body, Ring Mail Legs, Ring Mail Gloves (Strength Req 40.)
Celtic Shield (Strength Req 35.) and a weapon of whatever weapon skill type you want to go with.

Monom may or may not be offering the same.

We need more dwarves!

Warriors, farmers, cooks, fishers!
Anything at all!
(just no nobles, or i'll ask Monom to install a floodgate before you can say "is that water i hear?")

Well, i'm done on it for tonight.
70 Smithing, 68 Mining.

I need to buy some shoes in it, as i'm running around bare foot at the moment, but i'm not paying 450 for some boots, when i know that they'd sell off a vendor, if there was one, for like, 38 gold.

S/he spoke so badly i had no idea either, but yeah, go team dwarf, we're so hardcore we can drive away an axe goblin with a rock and a shovel

Join us as dwarves!

Everyone's worryingly friendly there, so far my attempts to provoke a goblin had it seem to take a liking to me after threatening to bash Monom.

I'm clearly doing something wrong.

You just stick them in the base UO directory, it seems.

Also, i'm Zon Angdurad on there.

Food.. I've had bad experiences with shards where you have to eat every ten minutes without fail and drink every five, or you drop dead on the spot.

Well, i'm currently leaning towards a warrior or a smith. Or maybe a warrior-smith.

I'll wait for you to scout though, as a little more direction would allow for some of us to pick more helpful roles.

Hmm, I might give Grimmwold a go.
Might be nice to get back to my role playing roots.

Anything you need more of, apart from able and willing dwarves?

You know, this'll teach me to actually read the entire podst i'm quoting, as short as it was.

The shards i've seen, people just PK you for the hell of it, wait for your back to be turned, then bang, dead in one hit as they zip up, loot, leave. Pretty much a bunch of people who grief newbies. I figured 'hey, i'll keep trying' and a week later, i was still being oneshotted, and i'm pretty certain some of them used tracking to find me specifically, as i was getting killed by the same people several times when they already knew i had nothing left.

By carebear, i mean that there was no pvp on tram, outside of guild wars typically, people who were afraid to die went there. I've no objection to that kind of stuff if i have a fighting chance, but that was something i never had.

But hey, if the community can find a good place to play, i may consider joining in.

I used to play UO when it first came out.  Does that server have allot of PKers?

Felucca is pretty much a pvp outside of towns zone, depending on rules and such.
Tramel... or however you spell it is the 'carebear' zone.

I recall giving this game a go though, and after getting ganked every time i stepped foot outside of town, i figured i wasn't going to get anywhere, as i'd have a bunch of people unhide and instantly fry me here, or ride of of the blue and gank/loot me there. Not that they got much off me, bar the clothes off my back and whatever weapon i'd scrounged up.

I've not had a chance to play the latest version lately, and see how much more's translated, but i'll do so soon™.

I found myself in the previous version, struggling to balance missions for platinum so i could fund my training, dungeon crawls to keep my rank high and arena battles to keep a decent rank there, too, so that the income i got from my ratings outweighed the tax i paid.

That however, is my own fault, as i kept looking for new and exciting dungeons to raid, hoping for artifacts, when i should have been running missions.

I've personally no objection to a thread that links to stories being stickied, as it's a nice idea to have any and every story that people want to find, possible to access from it, but, i do feel also that it should be Toady's choice if it is stickied or not, so, while i support the former, my vote falls with the latter.

I'd say you should have him win and have that goblin assist with making the baron and baroness vanish.
