Rpgmaker is bad and you should jump off a bridge.

Ignore the elitism. If RPGMaker does what you need it to do and you're comfortable using it, then go right ahead and use it.

That said, I haven't touched RPGMaker since it was the '95 version, so good luck with it.

This mod is the single greatest contribution to the modding community of Dwarf Fortress since Toady One himself muttered "Hey, how about loading content from easily read and editable .txt files? That'd be a gas."

Smashing them with the butt of your gun doesn't hurt them, no. But using a dedicated melee weapon does. Hell, there's even an Achievement for it.
