I played this nightly for weeks, but got kinda-sorta burned out knowing that it was going to all get wiped soon. Going to hold off on playing again until the non-beta release.

Was a lot of fun, though, different kind of game than the typical free-to-play fantasy grindfest.

the worst of PTMC is CyrusBlack. This guy is just awful. Not just his character, but in real life. This weasel is constantly telling people how he is in afghanistan and has ptsd from combat stress. Questionable and deplorable at the same time. To make matters worse he repairs equipment, that's his job. He does this from a safe and secure motorpool(think parking lot) in the middle of a relatively safe base well inside of friendly lines. Why do these support people always think they can make up stories of combat stress and get away with it? Just more of the typical b.s. we get from PTMC.
This annoys me no end. I'm no longer over there (haven't been for years), but one of the things that really got me going was when a bunch of female non-combat types "earned" their spurs. I kid you not. As if they were actually front-line Cav. Had a ceremony and everything. I guess by now they're just giving them out.  ::)

Heh, gave this a spin and ... wow. The controls and I are not getting along. I guess I have to use the right mouse button (as suggested above) instead of trying to fly myself.

Not sure what to think of it yet. Didn't totally wow me, but I haven't gone into PvP yet. Was going to, but apparently my faction was rage quitting due to massive population imbalance at the time and the enemy had 99% sector control or something. Will try it more in a couple days.

Whoa. Biggest Steam sale ever? You save: $873.36

If anyone purchases this, please let me know. I'll down a shot in your honor.

Registerd, seems interesting enough, empire name is Angels of Sidaroth, but it's taking forever to load the planet for some reason -.-
This happened to me, using Chrome 10.0.648.45. The game seems interesting and different from what I hear about it, but it isn't very responsive after a few short moments. Firefox any better? Reminds me, I need to update Firefox.

I tried a ... demo of it awhile back, but the controls turned me off so fast that I didn't feel inclined to continue playing. Thinking back, it may play better with an X-Box 360 controller (if supported). I dunno. Might give it another go with a fresh perspective later this month.

Is there a way to restart if you get a crummy position? Or do I just have to self-destruct and wait 24 hours?

I thought this was going to be something different (and also bad). Might actually take a look at it; how are faction populations balanced?

Digital distribution and PC gaming go hand-in-hand. If not Steam, then D2D, GamersGate, Amazon Download ... but Steam is fine. Offline mode works. If you buy games during Steam sales you'll get truly good deals (do not buy Steam games outside of sales if you can help it, they are not good deals generally speaking).

As DRM goes it isn't completely terrible. It has issues and downsides, but the convenience and features aren't so bad.

A lot of people don't like Steam for any number of good reasons. Steam has evolved a bit over the years to be better. Not perfect, but acceptable. It's convenient, and that's important when retailers are far away or, more and more frequently, don't even carry PC games that aren't AAA titles.

But yes that game had damn fun free running I swear I spent more time running gliding jumping and occasionally smashing someone's head into the ground than I did on the actual missions.
Oh, me too. I've never had so much fun in a game getting from one place to another ... and then skipping right past it to cause more mayhem and forget what I was supposed to actually be doing. I think it's the first game I've ever played that did the "you're basically a god" thing right.

Ending fight was utter trash, though, although I did like the environment (chucking jets at people is pretty much amazing anywhere).

Please, sequel, please be greater than your predecessor.

To Hemmingjay! The classiest kind of gentleman. Generosity and kindness definitely make the cold universe a little warmer; salute!

You can only hope to compair to Stardock if your CEO freaks the fuck out. Let us all hope for this.
That was the most entertaining aspect of Elemental, by far. I still look back at those ludicrous outbursts with fondness. Oh, and the Elemental "novel" he wrote is probably the worst book written in the last twenty years. Which made the entire meltdown all the greater.

But yes, I'm looking forward to public cries of self-flagellation followed by layoffs and rage, returning eventually to the self-flagellation in a glorious cycle.

I'm installing it right now so I can give it a play before this marketing beta ends. My expectations are fairly low. I do not like WoW for more than a couple weeks every year, so this may not be of interest to me anyway.

Appreciate the opportunity to try it, though.

I played the trial for Planetside a few months ago, and I did enjoy it when the battles were huge and frantic like they should be. The second the fights get tiny, the fun starts to leave (for me).

Took a bit of time for me to grasp the equipment stuff, but I loved the whole idea of it. I'll be highly interested in this here game right here when it launches.
