A note about swimming:

It is advised to practice it near a large body of water which has ramps on the edges. And whenever you enter water, make SURE you choose the selection for water, and not open space. Many times my adventurers have died because they jumped into the air above the water, fell down, got stunned and drowned.

Either way, it involves pelvic thrusts.

I'm sure things would be censored. Hair covers all hiddenable things!

You know, this thread is inspiring me to make a space mod. It would require food reactions that don't need a farm(Can't farm on constructed tiles) and some way of making an invisible support. But other than that, you could build a orbital doom laser. Of course it would just be constructions that you release to make a cave-in, but this could be interesting.

I don't have a battle-log, but the situation just made it epic.

So I had a macedwarf, who after getting some decent stats I named a Paladin. On his way to a goblin tower, he came across two upright pikes with the corpses of old adventures on them. This was the first time I discovered this, so I was blown away by that.
So the first building I saw was the temple. The first enemy? The High-priest. His corpse exploded into gore on an engraving of a demon, so I had high spirits for this adventurer. After clearing one tower and beginning on the second of the three, I came across a macelord. After a battle involving slamming a goblin drunk into the guy halfway across the room and throwing the weapons of the goblin guards at him before a fight that left my dwarf exhausted, I got a VERY nice mace.

So naturally, I had my dwarf climb the tower to the demon. This was it. This was greatness. I wished the tower had open edges so that I had the possibility of bashing the demon off the tower. And what do you know, he appears like clockwork on the top. This was going to be epic.

Then, a goblin guard with a spear got a lucky shot from behind.

Wow. That was some character. I was particularly sure to find the legends of this guy in Legend Mode.

Now to make an even BETTER character to beat the demon and gain a crazy history.

I was lucky enough to be in possession of a *<<Large>>*

It was light so there was not much damage when thrown, but man; nothing like throwing something that apparently doesn't exist to damage something.

Nah, your adventurer merely used his feet to fling that arrow.

That or spat it at him. Which would cause some interesting scenes to be possible.

Goblin: Why are you smiling? We have a noose around your neck, both of your arms are broken, and we have all of your equipment.
Adventurer: Not all of my equipment.
*Starts to spit out arrows*
Goblins: Augh!

Wow.

This makes me want to take down a town by throwing an anvil.

I am the Bronze Colossus Zalbug, destroyer of MysticTowers and enslaver of CopperMines! I defeated Urist McHammerlord, who thought she could be a man! Killer of Kogam McHammerlord, whose tall tales of bravery were all the more embarrassing because of his height!
Prepare to di-

Nope, dwarves won't let you butcher their precious pets. At least, not through the butchery system.

Another idea avoiding the spikes is to have a useless lever on repeat, on a one-tile large platform in the middle of a pit. As the dwarf is switching the useless lever, another one raises the drawbridge to drop the pets into the pit. Then you can do whatever you want to the pit. Lava? Gobbos? Upright spike traps? Whatever you want. If you managed to build walls, the little dwarf on the island will be completely isolated from the world as the cries of their pet are carried up to them.

You know how people make dams? Make yourself a lava dam. Then place the only entrance to your fort to go past the dam wall, with a few drawbridges made of metal holding the magma back.

Release when necessary.

Well, I saw this in a movie for an atom smasher.

code:

....................
.###.##############.
.#1..#B----------B#.
.###.#B..........B#.
.#...DB..........B#.
.###.#B..........B#.
.#2X.#B----------B#.
.###.##############.
....................

Lever 1 connects to (D)oor and (X)floodgate. When door is open the floodgate is closed.
Lever 2 connects to the bridge.

This means the atom smasher cannot be used when the door into it is open. Thus you can void dwarves being trapped in it.

Well... Mining would be interesting.

I wonder what cave-in's would do to a dwarf if it destroyed a legendary engraving...

I heard they were only that powerful in the 2D version. I'm not sure though.

I'm sure a few trap ideas can be adapted from Ironblood's tomb design.

I don't think drawbridges can fling much anywhere. It seems to just displace things a few tiles now.

But I approve of using weak traps to kill things off. Nothing as hilarious as imagining the blunt traps as just large battering rams swinging over a narrow walkway, with gobbos trying to rush past it only to be knocked over by other blunt pendulums.
