DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Most obscure legendary?
« on: May 31, 2008, 02:46:00 pm »
While putting new recruits through the dry-pumping workout, I got a legendary pumper. From there I imagined a pump operator creating a long spray of water capable of flinging objects away.

Urist McMayor: Goblins! Curses, we have no way of fending them off with our fighters taking on the pits. There is only one thing we can do...

Gobbo: Ha! Unguarded entrance! This is perfect.
Gobbo 2: Whats that noise?
*Flood of water*
Kogan McPumper: Hahahaha! All shall fear my pumping skills! I can move oceans over mountains! I can send water miles away! I can create the currents of the oceans! Fear my wrath!

Lets just say the results are less than what I expected.

I'm not sure where I found this in adventure mode, but it seems a little odd.

"Bald hammerer of the hairy hills."
Seems like a balding hammerer wanted to strike down those who make him feel inadequate.

I would like to make one request for the new forum: Going directly to a recent post. If you look at today's posts, clicking on the links provided takes you to the first page. I want the links to go directly to the posts.

Thats what I would use. That or a GIF of a legendary U. Blinking and everything.

I vote move.

The only problems we will be having are cosmetic, which should not be much of a problem at all.

Even if we can choose our own avatars, I'm still going to have a big 'ol U.

I'm for the move. There is one thing I would like to keep.

No multiple quotes inside quotes. Sure it could be useful and helpful, but I hate seeing threads filled with large walls of the space around quotes around quotes around quotes. Perhaps if we do have quotes inside quotes we could have a rule that we should not overuse 'em unless for discribing a recursive artifact.

Toady, from what I understand you can backup the forum threads? Back them up right now, and get rid of every spammer blocking device this forum has. We shall go down in a DF fashon: A blaze of glory!

Toady has spoken, and all squabbling stopped! Truly, these are the glory days!

This is going to be grand. Is there any way of previewing what it'll look like?

Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the world as Moria, Gandalf battles the Balrog. It is an epic fight, one which was never witnessed in the movies.

I don't think we should use riddles where the answer cannot be deducted from the question.

In riddle terms, thats like cheating at a card game.

Most of those things are in Morrowind. That game is the love.

I literally mourned the day my X-box died and I could no longer play. Sure tombs were repetative, but I liked discovering all of them in the world!

What I want is a type of mix between Morrowind and Oblivion. Take the things we loved about Morrowind, take the mechanics of Oblivion that fixed the bad things about Morrowind, add a few extra things that could be helpful(Like matching whatever piece of armor I want), mix all those together in a secrect project that only has minimal advertisements before launch...

Mmmm, Gamegasm...

I'm amazed how similar our voting tactics are.

But I'm going to need to read up on this. Hopefully I can get by the cooler names for the parts of their government to get content.

And we already know the 51st state is going to be either Canada or Mexico. America just needs to stop dicking around.   ;)

A note about the torture: Arn't lethal injection convicts sedated as part of the lethal injection process? I'm sure torture doesn't apply to somebody going into a sleep they will never return from.

It's like saying medical operations are torture. The person doesn't care if their chest cavity is open and their liver is gone, as long as everything is fixed when they are awake and aware no harm is done.

I-I don't even KNOW what that would do in Python.

But I would not want to mess with the Zen of Python.

I believe it is at least a bit Python. And that the first few lines of real code go like this:

import worldgen
import resources
import AI
import soul
import win
import TehInterwebs
import cureforcancer
import madness?
import SPARTAAAAAAA!
import babiedreams

Granted.

Unfortunatly, as you mastert the working of a tie the art of tie tieing is lost in eternity! Now it is up to you to re-teach us all the magic of tieing a tie. As you can imagine, lots of people want to learn it.

Thus you are stuck with a problem: Do you persue your dreams and goals, or do you continue to educate the world for money? With this knowledge in such high demmand, you can either choose one or the other.

I with I was stark raving mad.
