Roll To Dodge / Interest check For some planned Games
« on: August 06, 2022, 12:20:08 pm »
As the title states I have Been ruminating on some game ideas and I thought I would Try to get a idea of what the general interest levels for them are:

A:  Red Legion- Red legion is a game in which the players play as specialists for, well, the Red Legion, a once-famous legion that, due to no small amount of bad luck, has fallen into disgrace.  Gameplay will be highly tactical.  I plan on using a hex map, although I do not know of a mapmaking program that I could use.  Maybe you guys could recommend one?

B: The Hunt- The Hunt is a game where you play as monster hunters.  The system will use mechanics based off of multiple video games, monster hunter world being one of them.  In this game, attacks will be treated as AoE effects, and instead of attack rolls being made, the defender will have to roll to parry or dodge attacks.  When dodging, characters must actually move, so
if you dodge into a laser it is almost assured to hit you.  This game will also use hex maps, more so than the prior game.

C: Ace Flyer- Ace flyer is a highly cooperative game in which 6 players cooperatively pilot a heavy starfighter in a sci-fi universe.  It will use standard d6 roll to dodge rules.

D: Unnamed anime sci-if game- as the title states, I have not actually come up with an actual name for this one.  In it, you play as a crew of sci-fi swashbucklers.  Will likely use a d20 system based off of the godbound rpg.

E: Unnamed Ninja game- I also have not come up with a name for this one.  It is a game where you play as, we’ll, ninjas.  It would ideally use Egan’s Crysis system, assuming I can get their permission.

If you gave any questions ask.

Roll To Dodge / MMORTD (6/6) IC

OOC thread

After a brief message of words scrolling down your screen, stuff about how you can’t get out of this game until you beat it, how if you die in game you die IRL, and that all of your property is now legally the company’s and other alarming stuff as such.  You then wake up, standing in a ring with five other people, in some kind of steampunk town.  It’s night.  You think.  The sky looks weird, all purple and blue, but clearly with stars.  Suddenly, in the center pops up a pyramid-shaped floating blue thing, with two eyes and a mouth on one side.  It speaks in a bubbly voice: “Hello! I am your AI guide!  I am here to guide you through this game, and answer your questions.  So, do you have any before you start on your first quest?”

//all players may now post.  Also, please post your character sheet with your action posts and hold your actions.  Makes it easier on me.

Roll To Dodge / Necromancy (SG)
« on: August 02, 2021, 07:07:07 pm »
This is a SG about Necromancers.  Go wild.  Just remember that the populace will try to kill you if they figure out what you are.
Spoiler: rules (click to show/hide)

You are male elf Necromancer.  And the necromancer part is probably going to get you killed.  See, necromancy was forbidden, because of a cabal of evil Necromancers rampaging across the world about a century ago or something.
You are staring at the water in shock.  In the water, you see a undead fish that you accidentally animated swimming around.  You are on the bank of a small river, about ten miles from any civilization.  About twenty feet south of the southern bank of the river, there is a small fishing hut (yours).  On the northern bank of the river there is a forest.  The hut resides in a circular clearing with a south-westerly path leading to your village.  You look at your hands in shock, realizing that you just did necromancy.

Roll To Dodge / Wraith 2.0 (IC) Dead
« on: June 27, 2021, 03:51:50 pm »
Since the original wraith game was finished, I decided to create a Roll to dodge multiplayer version.
You are one of several completely normal human mages that just happened to have the dead corpses possessed by Wraiths that they just turned their souls into.  The premise of the game is simple: find souls, eat, find souls, eat, etc.

Example character sheet:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

When you start out the only thing that you may change from the sheet is the first three things.  If you roll a 1 on a roll you gain a fate point.  Souls Are this games form of xp.
I will post the soul thresh holds for leveling up.  Power levels function as this games levels.  I will post what rewards you get.  There are only 5 slots open currently but I may open more.  If you have any questions please post.

Death:
When your host body suffers enough damage you enter spirit mode. In it you can is inhabit corpses and interact with spirit constructions.  If you inhabit one and it gets destroyed you can’t inhabit it again.  If you inhabit a rotten corpse it automatically regenerates.

Permadeath:
Some enemies will have attacks with the exorcist tag.  If you are killed by one of these attacks, your wraith gets destroyed and you move to the back of the waitlist.  Another way to experience functional  permadeath is to be trapped somewhere Like a cosmic prison or a magic gem

Power level thresholds:

1=3 souls

2= 9 souls

3=21 souls

Etc.

When you gain a power level I will give you a memory and some options for advancement.  At power level 3 I will (maybe) start conventional skill trees.
