perhaps we should develop something inside our host's mouth that will allow us to eat what we want regardless of our host's natural diet, (i.e. if we controlled a herbivore we would still have our own carnivorous mouth that grew inside of theirs, allowing us to bite and chew flesh) could either grow and replace the natural mouth, or do an alien style extend-able mini-mouth.  The extender mouth would avoid problems of not having a jaw, while the natural mouth would allow for a larger mouth.

as to what to do next, go have our host bite the yellow kelp-like stuff.

i think its a lungfish that we took control of when it was on land (or some other amphibious creature, maybe a crustacean, hard to tell from the picture)

Yea, best evolution game on the board.

Also, the solution the the shell fish is OBVIUS: leave a bit of poison cells on the shell and go away, so that it dosn't notice and gets poisoned when it comes out.

Also, I say we shuld specialize in being internal to the hosts we control, so that there is no visible or smellable etc. difference from a healthy one. Then as soon s atleast one of us infect a member of some highly social species...

Also make so that your presence harms the host as little as posible untill the very last mement where we decide to kill it and enter the stionary stage of our lifecycle.

Also, just to check if I go this right and sugest it if it's not alredy true, and sugest it's made official if it is so that adaptations can be easily aimed at a single of the stages, our lifecycle is:
1) infected/poison cells, that grow in a host to...
2) parasite stage, that takes over the mind of some animal and use it to get near other animals that we then infect using tentcles we grow outside the animal
3) stationary stage, entered when the host dies and/or there are not enoguht hosts around, that is not as good at infecting things because it can't hunt after than, but much less likely to starve.

in that case we should develop the ability to feed from our host, so that we won't need to have our leaves outside

develop some of the tentacle poison glands(?) into ones that can apply acid to disintegrate shells

if you want to steal the fishes eyesight, you should just grow a retina made out of our own cells inside it's eye, the optics is the hard part.

Yes, i think we'll be more adaptable if we steal hard to develop organs and senses rather than develop our own, that way if something with better eyes comes along we can use it's eyes too

co-opt the fish's eyesight if it is better than our own/add it to our own

You have no way to take it's DNA. (Unless you mean that you want to use its eyes it see, in which case you want better control over its brain/systems.

i meant use the fish's physical eyes, so yes better control

Hmm, would it be possible for us to specialize into controlling this species of fish, and effecting evolutionary changes in the fish? forming a bi-genetic organism?  Or are we past that point, where we should just try to infect something bigger.

I've also been stuck in stolmheiln, combined with the servers being dead over the weekend.  If i'm online tonight would anyone be able to give me berth to someplace where i can pick up a ship?

Getting a new character off of Stolmheiln is no small feat.

We need to get more accessible ships down there.

Anyways, I'll have one Solon Overbanners sitting on Mountaingold by the hour.

did you guys postpone the colony trip because of the server?  I'm thinking of picking this up and would hope to be part of the expedition if it hasn't left yet.

I was disappointed not to get a win this year, but I did have a 7 rune game, which is a couple more than my win last year.  Who knows, maybe i'll get up to a 15 rune run by next year.

the problem with theories like that is that they go nowhere towards explaining the nature of the world, even if true, it simply leaves an exterior universe(the one in which said computer exists) that has no explanation.

Woohoo! My second online victory!

1230208 FreeHugs the Axe Maniac (level 27, 275/275 HPs)
Began as a Mountain Dwarf Fighter on Aug 20, 2010.
Was a High Priest of The Shining One.
             Escaped with the Orb
             ... and 3 runes (of 3 types) on Aug 22, 2010!

This time around, I cleaned out Zot:5 the hard way, bit by bit. Let me tell you, that is harrowing.

Edit:
I want to try for my first streak. Suggestions on best class option, other than SpEn? I'm considering Merfolk Crusader based on Demos's guide.

Edit: Not Demos's guide.

DD Healer was my first win, and should be an easy 3 rune win
