I can accept that someone would like it. They have to make their payments somehow, after all.
That said, it's probably one of the.. no, I'm not going to get started. Let's just say, I didn't enjoy it. It's like Higurashi, but without the mysteries, likable characters, interesting environment or originality..
Not original? I doubt you'd find anything like it.
Lack of likable characters? I see you didn't get the point of the anime version.
No interesting environments? Could say that about Higurashi. I lived in a small town most of my life and I don't see any incredible differences.
But from what I see in your list of reasons why you didn't like School Days...
You're not going to enjoy Umineko.

-Boogiepop Phantom
-Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni.
-.hack//Sign (Most people will not enjoy it.)
-School Days
-Paranoia Agent
-Kara no Kyoukai (Movie)
-Serial Experiments Lain
I never really liked Utawarerumono... The whole thing to me was just plain ridiculous, especially the characters, and plot twist.

I only liked Excel Saga's beginning and climax. (There were a few episodes between those two spaces that were good, but most were poor on the quality scale.)
