... what part of "I get the sentiment and everything" was so hard to grasp?

The part that came after that. Which made it sound like you didn't get the sentiment?

But I'll take you on your word... I am REALLY exhausted anyhow (not from this thread... from lack of sleep) so as long as I am at least understood I am happy.

My doctor doesn't want to do more trials... he gave me a referral to a doctor who was fired.

Like... I get the sentiment, and everything. But it does strike me that trading a thousand demons and only getting one new one back is a pretty good deal? Reducing your considered demon population by around 99.9% is usually considered fairly successful, I think.

You are taking it too literally.

Look I'll make it easier: Do you want to trade your freedom of expression and Freedom of thought in order to take down Nazis? Do you think a society without those would remain a just society?

They NEED to be dealt with, but these methods will backfire in a spectacular way. I do not condone thought police, I do not condone the moralizing ideological group the free right to hunt dissenters down and prosecute them via mob justice.

When the Nazis go away... This mentality will not... Then what are you stuck with?

There's no irony there.

He who slays 1000 demons becomes one.

Maybe mob mentality vigilante justice based on a moralizing ideology might not be the best approach. Yet I am sure it is ok, they are "right" after all... and as we all know, anyone who is right, can never be wrong.

And I only predicted that the current climate seems to suggest that we are reaching a boiling point to where we are going to have a major riot...

And if Trump is his usual self, he's going to botch up the response and only make it worse :P

Yeah. Sounds about right.

Quote
If your opinion involves shit like "certain people are automatically inferior to me and people I decide are also better than others" or "it's ok to not just discriminate against others based on arbitrary bullshit, it's actually cool to just go ahead and kill them" then given the reaction of the rest of the world the last time people started actually turning those opinions into actions... maybe you should shut your fucking trap unless you're cool with getting popped in the mouth for being not just a nazi, but a fucking stupid one, at that

The Irony is palpable. I actually thought you were condemning the Witch Hunts at first.

@neonivek: What percentage of violent protestors would it need to be called a riot?

I am not sure such a system works.

And I only predicted that the current climate seems to suggest that we are reaching a boiling point to where we are going to have a major riot...

Well this is a cluster truck... and surprisingly not as one sided as it seemed.

I am predicting a severe riot in the not so distant future... MAYBE race riot, but probably a bit different than that.

... that looks more like neo's overdosed on something unhealthy, really. Or trying to make some kind of point in something approaching the worst way possible. Can't really tell.

Naw it is meant to be more trivia and a funny quip than a serious argument.

The Slavery situation in the USA is more fueled by
-1) Retributive justice
-2) People generally don't know what goes on in prisons.

Neon, its a singleplayer game about beating the shit out of orcs and stealing their fortresses.

What I was referring to... is that they will make those loot crates VERY visible to those who play it... Gold will be very visible.

Because they will also give you free gold, you are overwhelmingly likely to, as a player, to buy at least one crate yourself.

It stretches the "I will just ignore it" statement when it is intrusive. As well since people are arguing "Logic" they should probably amend and say "After I buy the initial loot crates I will ignore them", since not buying them would be "On Principle"

Goodness I fell asleep... Thankfully I don't have to do that much damage control.

"Who benefits from mexican de-facto slaves?

It's not us liberals, I tell you that"

Let me see... Liberal Americans believe in Privatization, which includes prisons, which enacts slave labor and many of these slaves are Mexicans.

Or is the American Left no longer part of Raganism?

Sometimes I wonder if you really can take a lawless state and repair it without a tyrannical dictator being appointed.
Yes, but its likely you would need to be rather more authoritarian then some would like for awhile. and that of course is the problem. many never transfer from the emergency dictator to a less powerful role for rather obvious reasons. you need a really genuinely good person who works really hard to not make them self into a permanent powerful figure. the man that's willing to retire to his cabbage fields for the good of the country is unfortuity rather rare in history.

Well you have someone who is willing to use force against their enemies, slaughtering insurgents, cowing opposition... and be doggedly determined to do it.

How many people can do that... while also being the kind of person who would step down for the good of their country?

I am just rather depressed that it seems like one of the required steps of civilization seems to be that one leader rise above all else, wearing an iron glove.

Or maybe I'll just ignore the crates because it's an option, and just enjoy my single player experience.

Well you can't ignore them... They set them up so they cannot be ignored. You can only just not buy them.

Well ok you will end up buying one or two because they give you enough gold for free as a way to acclimate you towards it...

You're overreacting, nobody here thinks that, I don't think that.

I just know it is gonna happen. Not even gonna suspect it, like maybe a few months later someone is going to bring up this conversation and go "See! Neonivek likes Nazis!"

And I'll be like "NOO!"

I get what you're saying on 'thought crime' and free speech and obsessively hunting them out, but that doesn't mean that we should tolerate such things. You only have to look to history to see where that kind of white supremacist ideology leads.

We don't tolerate the hate they spew! That is definitely right.

That is why, for example, they cannot teach it in schools. We don't lend them an ear in the news media the majority of the time. We don't include their philosophy in most reputable texts. We have lobbies and ideological groups that counter theirs.

We don't tolerate when they riot, when they perform terrorism, when they kidnap or hurt others.

But we REALLY need to keep the high ground, not because "We need to be better than them" I am a bit more pragmatic, but because we quickly become monsters when we lose sight... and we are seeing that more and more often... The way we treat the dredges of society is becoming the way we treat dissenters.

Nobody else will do it in this country, so until we can do a good squelching on the burning churches and stuff like what happened in this particular event, it's the only bloody choice you got. Welcome to 'murrica, where after a bout of domestic terrorism the POTUS had some fun dumping responsibility on both sides of the issue, then later gave a half-hearted condolence to the injured and dead closed out with a writing tic habitually used to denigrate political opponents.

In mean time, please, excuse me if I'm not terribly moved by the emotional distress of people who support widespread ethnic cleansing and cheerfully welcome murder.

Remember this mentality will NOT go away just because this particular enemy goes away.

You need more permanent tactics. How can you deal with Neo-Nazis and White Supremists that won't backfire on, just pulling out a random group, Criminal Lawyers?

This is why the same strategies are being adopted as suppression tactics against dissenters.

As for not being distressed... A society that delights in the pain and misery of others, isn't right in the head.

----

But really that is it for my opinions for one day... I am sure I am going to be labeled a Nazi lover for a while here for not wanting to walk into random people's homes and murder suspected Nazis... or not liking the pain and misery of others and bathing in the blood of my enemies.
