I'd imagine you'd learn the Truenames of everything in their vocabulary, and unleash hell by attempting to speak a sentence.

Heh, that sounds like an okay name to me.

And another suggestion I have is a 'Adventurer archaeologist' location.  Everything else I can think is would just simply end up being too specific.

Well, for some bizarre reason I haven't read or watched Starship Troopers yet, but it looks like they were actually the original, or close to it.

Something within the Cthluhu Mythos would be nice.  Before you denounce this, I have to point out that there are a multitude of settings within, including the Dreamlands, Hyperborea, and Zothique.

Otherwise, I think something steam-punk would be cool too.

You're starting to sound like the Tyranid hive-mind now.

I can sometimes post now, and also in a few hours from now, at about 12, my time, like I said before.  I've just never bothered to try before.

Just posting this to see if I fall into one of the time slots here.  I think I can manage it, anyways.

I have the chance to post at what's 7 a.m. in my time, which I think is 9 p.m. for you, though I've never bothered to try, given that I'm a slow riser.  I might also be able to post somewhere between 10:00-12:40 p.m..

As for the disadvantage, I think of it like the 'Play Now!' adventurer who has to sneak into shops and steal armor and weapons before venturing out into the wilderness.

The Call of Cthulhu, Dreams in the Witch House, and the Rats in the Walls are some of my favorites.

I also like his Dream-Cycle works.

I think that completely random creatures would be a bit un-fun.  I like the simulation-heavy evolution idea, but you should at least get to choose between things like mammalian/reptilian/insect and terrestrial/flying/swimming.

I don't know why you people seem to think it is, but the Cthulhu Mythos isn't a series of novels sold in box sets.  It's a setting, and Lovecraft himself never wrote a book in it that had a prerequisite that he had written previously.

Lovecraft honestly isn't an exceptional author.  His writing style is often compared to a scientific report at best, or an unwieldy mess at worst.

The underlying ideas are good, though, profoundly nihilistic, espousing the idea that there are things out there so fantastically horrible, that humanity would be entirely powerless before it.

Are you sure you don't have room for just one more player?

Considering that Python is renowned for its flexibility across the interwebs, I'd give it my vote.

I, however, know nothing of programming at all.

Summoning the forces of Elemental Awsome, I explode into reality with no idea whatsoever as to what has transpired beforehand.
