I generally don't care what music is playing depending on what I'm doing, mostly because nothing in my playlist is really well suited to fantasy things.  So I just let Front Line Assembly and Skinny Puppy thump on through the night while I play Dwarf Fortress.

If Xan's in charge of a goblin fort you're out of luck.  He's a kick ass cyborg and his technology is far more advanced than anything you could ever find in the game.  As sad as it is, your dwarves don't have what it takes to defeat Xan and win the Tournament.

Why are people so afraid of rick rolls? They're annoying, sure, but it's not like it does any damage. Well, at least the youtube ones don't. The annoying JavaScript dancing-window ones piss me off just a little bit.

Pretty sure elves don't normally know how to mine, or forge anything but their stupid little bows and arrows and maybe a few other pointy things.  Takes modding to get them to make, and therefore trade, anything useful.

On a slightly unrelated note, running down rivers slicing up the local wildlife is great for training up your weapon skills

Clearly, you've never swum downstream until you hit the dreaded WALL OF FISH.  Tremble as you become overexerted within TWO TURNS OF COMBAT, and watch as the picine demons leisurely tear you limb from limb while you sit unconscious and completely at their mercy.  Oddly enough, I've apparently been unable to drown while unconscious and/or stunned.   ???

Well, I'm currently experimenting with an underwater mausoleum. Essentially, the bottom layer of my fortress is a massive area of tombs and treasure vaults sealed from the world. I have a series of floodgates that open a path from the source of a cave river down through the center of my fortress around an aquarium I have set up made of some 400+ green glass windows. The aquarium connects to the cistern that flows down into the bottom where it fills and covers up the tombs. The water then flows back out through another series of floodgates that flow towards a chasm where the water falls harmlessly out of my fortress. To fill the tomb with water, I close the floodgates at the bottom and open the ones at the top.

Spillways insure that my water cistern is constantly flowing (ie. Not stagnant) and prevent overflowing.

I'm not done with it yet, but when I am, I will upload it to the database.

That sounds really interesting...  Do the spillways rely on a system of pressure plates?  I can't fathom many other ways to keep everything from just pouring out...

How exactly does that Moreau mod work, anyways?  Does it add just a select, random few, or does it add a new *man for every animal currently in the game?

That's nothing, I once had playable skeletal elves.  When I finished creating my character, vents of deadly steam/lava/horrible flaming death spontaneously opened beneath every skeletal elf in the village at the same time.  That adventure didn't last long.

Ugh, yep.  I considered trying to hit the core until it broke, but that doesn't work either, huh?  Ah well, v0.21 of a one-man project is bound to be weird like that.

I've run into trouble with the final boss, whenever I beat it, well...  Nothing happens.  The core thing goes flying off into the darkness, and I just get stuck there.  What could I do about this?

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiit.  I broke my save somehow, I think it was related to my copying it to create a second profile that I could use to explore different storylines.  Does the creator have a contact I could use?

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I believe that the next version you're going to need pillars for large rooms again.  I prefer smoothed sections of living stone to constructed supports myself, especially since a troll or tantruming dwarf couldn't fatally collapse your most impressive rooms by knocking them over.
